I have to say your Kit has something I don't need very much in peoples kits, Space. A lot of bushcraft/Hiking/Survival Kits I see people show off they are stuffed to the max. Having a bag that's slightly larger then you need can be extremely invaluable when going out in the woods.
Thanks! I personally don't like to overstuff if I can help it. Plus, for my weekly treks into the jungle, I have to hike in uphill for 40min to get to my bushcraft "camp", enjoy my time and then hike back down. So, I want to keep the weight manageable.

Well done. I like the redundancy in your kit. I always have a change of clothes in case I get wet, which is very possible where I live. Fire starting is another area where I load up. I do like to bring flint and steel because it’s a fun way to get a fire started.

Very well thought out set up. Only thing i would mention but not critical is too many knives.The Parang does everything that the sheath knife does and more. The Swiss camper can do the very fine work. …Very cool.

And for fun a sling shot. Believe me taking a sling shot is super fun and has some utility for small shame hunting if you can get good.
Thanks for the suggestions! I have the bandana and poncho in the kit. Small shovel - I have the Glock ET which is great but not something I EDC unless it is a camping trip. Honey in straws will be a great resource! Sling shots are illegal here, unless a stealth DIY kind maybe.

I think the kit is great l know some people in the comments have said that you should add this and that but you carry what you need and what suits your environment and the more you add the bigger the backpack you will need,it’s only a small daypack.
Thanks! I believe most have good intentions. But yes, this day pack is designed for the "safe" outdoor activities I engage in, in the environment, and location I am fairly familiar with. It is not intended for 7-day survival expeditions in unknown territory. 😁

Very nice setup. Have you seen the condor terrachete? It's a design you might find very interesting. In America its very affordable im not sure what it would cost in your country. I just brought it up because your using Tops.
I to was raised using the old canteen. I probably carried it more in boyscouts then the military. Lol. Only problem with GI canteen is it picked up weird tastes. I carry a water bladder mostly or a 64oz. bottle. The big mouth makes it easier to clean.
I have seen it but it is not readily available here. Personally, I am not a fan of the plastic/ rubber over molded handles for machetes, and the steel is 1075, as compared to the 1095 for the Yacare. Thanks for the comment!
@@urbanknifeguy I have one it's got a amazing handle. Reminds me of a Filipino bolo. As far as the steel 1075 has better toughness. The edge holding is supposed to be less then 1095 but in reality it's not noticeable. 1095 can be good but when heat treated for edge holding it becomes brittle.
Anyway I'm really enjoying the terrachete. I wanna put a sling on it like your setup.
I really like the belt. I might have to go back to that now equipment has gotten better. In the military the LBE was not very comfortable.
@richardhenry1969 thanks for your reply! In an upcoming video, I have filmed an "unscientifc" edge retention test between the Condor 1075 and Tops 1095 as well as other steels and brands. In my test and experience, the Tops 1095 holds up much better and longer than the Condor 1075. But not saying the Condor 1075 is not good.

One thing I'd suggest is getting a Casio dual or triple sensor watch with a compass on it. Always good to have backup. Dual sensor watches are pretty cheap on Amazon, at least in the US, they're around $40 to $45. If going into the wild, I'd probably have two watches on: digital triple sensor Casio and an analog (which can also be used as backup direction finding using the sun). Seems like overkill to some but I say that it's not much weight to carry another asset. Why not? 😉
Yes good suggestion! I've actually been wanting a Gshock with those features for some time. But have not pulled the trigger.
Do you have a picture/video of how exactly you carry the knife on the sling? Somewhere you mention it's almost like a dangler, but I'm having trouble visualizing that.

Best Kit I have seen for long time . Only would change some few things
In stead of purification tablets I would use iodine drops for more and easier uses
and I dont like machetes with curved blades .A longer saw may be and I would add
some toilet paper. But thats only a matter of personal taste

@@urbanknifeguy I have pretty basic US military shorty machete that is functionally identical that I got for 11 bucks. I will admit that that one looks cooler. Not going to lie…. That is way overpriced

I use machetes all the time and I can guarantee the paint on them gets marks on it as soon as you cut through anything..
Plus all the webbing shows no sign of being worn.

I’m a former British Soldier and I actually carried my kit so I know what it looks like new and used..
I’ve actually still got the Golok I used when serving and it’s worn down a lot compared to a new one..

What are some local game meats that you could harvest?
I don't hunt and there is nothing much to hunt in this specific area I spend my time in. And hunting in general is illegal. But if you were to go further out to the unpopulated areas, there would be wild boars, squirrels and pheasants. Snakes too if you are into that.

It goes a lot long way especially with other people you might have to provide for .
Pine nuts and bark and plants are no where near enough to sustain this is why i laughs at so many body builders types that think there body will take the abuse lol
Have you been to Indonesian jungles, maybe Sumatra, kalimantan or java?
I have been to Indonesia several times but unfortunately not had a chance to go into the jungles. Closest was a hike through a small forrested area in Bali.
@@urbanknifeguy Bali is good, especially Mount Agung, but what is more challenging is the mountain on the island of Sumatra, Mount Kerinci. I have been to Mount Kerinci several times, most recently in 2009, but I'm almost 50 years old, so now I can only tracking, not hiking thou 😊

Carrying tinder in the woods. Is great for sidewalk people. A woodsman can always find tinder in the woods. Whether it's in a rainstorm or the middle of the winter. Hell i bet i can find dry tinder. After a tsunami if i survive the water. I'm positive I'd still find tinder to use afterwards.
But i don't know anything. I don't have a youtube channel, and I'm not pimping product for a percentage. Im just a fifty year old man. Who has spent the last forty years tramping around the woods. The one thing I've always managed to do, is build a fire. Without fail since I was ten or eleven years old. I've been able to source and harvest the materials necessary to get a fire going.
We are about the same age. And I agree with everything you said and kudos with your confidence and ability with your fire making abilities. Knowledge before gear is a tenant close to my heart but it does not supercede being prepared. Everyone also has different goals and priorities when going outdoods, so no way is the way too. @warlantactical I agree with your point on gear maintenance. I am meticulous that way every time I come back from the field. And also change pouches on the belt that have started to rip or whose zipper seems to be not working well. I have seen many people's gear that are well worn and seem to be falling apart. But, I'm not a fan of that.

@user-xn9jb1kl8f No, I am not in SG for my jungle trips. I am in MY. Even if you are in SG and in the jungle, you can open carry a knife. It is only illegal to carry a knife without a valid reason. If you are in the jungle, it is perfectly legal. But if you are in the mrt or bus traveling to the jungle, then keep it in your bag until you reach the jungle. Same law in MY too.

Definitely switch out the pack system to Tasmanian tiger tactical personal survival pack there is no better system out there

The pack is amazing
No dry bags
No meds
No extra socks
No rain gear
No base layers
Water filter should be in mesh bags to dry
No signal device or evacuation plan aka map case with map filled out
No fishing kit
Or harvesting supplies
No multivitamins
No pep tabs
Sir your kit is missing a lot for sub stain ability
But this is how we learn to be better we talk with each other and get feedback back
There is always room for improvements on gear and our selfs
Even though my kits are extremely dialed in am sure i am missing something and always adding knowledge skills to my preps
There are meds and rain gear. Base layer is not needed in this climate. Honestly, never used dry bags here, even when in the army. Extra socks to be honest... although they were part of the full pack. Mesh bag for the filter makes sense. Thanks for your comment.

Mesh bag is key never keep your filter in the water proof case because of mold and need to dry so it Dosnt freeze
