People throwing shade at her for not keeping him really, REALLY don't seem to understand the significance of what she's doing. If she kept adopting all the dogs she's rehabilitating, so many other dogs would be put to sleep and suffer. It absolutely sucks having to say goodbye, but in the end it's for the ultimate good of these beautiful animals to have a second chance. People like this woman are true God sends.
For real. I foster dogs too and it feels a lot like a breakup when they're finally adopted. But you have to do it so you can help the next one.
@@PraiseTheFSMonster do you ever keep any
@@NahomeBruk Nope. I always want to but I just remind myself that I can help a lot more animals if I just foster. It helps to have moral support from friends and family, too. Especially when you drop your foster off, it helps not having to drive back alone.
@@PraiseTheFSMonster are you aloud to keep any?
@@NahomeBruk Ya, you're allowed to. They can be adopted out to anyone who meets the criteria (safe environment, no abuse charges on their record, etc.)
See THIS is why I can't foster, I would never be able to have someone else adopt the animal
I totally understand that. However they are happy with their new families and you can help other animals in need.
i hear ya ❤️😕me too. i cant
@@tibotibo6 I know, it's just that I really like animals, even ones like snakes, I just get too attached
Great reason to excuse yourself from doing anything meaningful for homeless pups 👍🏼
FACTS!!!!! I could never! Unless it's a bird. I hate birds.
Tofu with separation anxiety and Zoot saying 'it's ok dude, I'm here' is the cutest thing.
I cried like a wee baby😭😭🥺
and then he lost Zoot again :(
I know.
I was astonished.. It is like one dog sensed the other dog was kind of sad and tried to comfort him
I think foster carers are among the most underrated people around. Building up a relationship with an animal, knowing that you'll have to give them away sooner or later, that must be really difficult emotionally. At the same time knowing it's best for the animal. Huge respect to all foster carers! 🙏❤😍
I only wish there were more good foster carers for children who are not in it only for the money. Every kid deserves a chance.

@@LloydSMITH ill check out your channel, good luck 😔
I adopted my Boston Terrier from a foster home 11 years ago today, and he is still with me. I am grateful for all the people who open up their homes to foster pets, because in most cases they are quite literally saving these animals' lives.
It takes a very special person to foster, then release to another home. I know that each one must take a part of your heart with them. Thank you for all you do.
💛💛💛💛💛💛
"How did you even get up there"
Tofu: "Did you notice I'm the size of pony?"...

My Great Dane can’t even get into bed w out me lifting her back half up into it😂🤦🏻♀️
Lol oh lol
Haha
😻 when I took my 6 month old Boxer to the vet she kept up onto their counter! Everyone, including me was quite shocked!
@@Justrileyy So she has you trained well if that's what I am seeing. lol All pet owners are trained by their animals. It's the love we have for them that makes us meet them somewhere in the middle.
The hardest part of fostering is letting them go. You lose a little piece of your heart each time but being able to foster another fills that void and lets more dogs be rescued. Thank you for what you do.
It must be hard on the dog too, no? Going through whatever hell they'd been through before, then getting all happy and cared for and loved, and then BOOM off to someone else.
@@pennyrobinson9772 I would imagine you are right but if it isn't done the foster parent can't save any more by fostering.
@@claytonrealist8868 Well obviously, just thinking of the dog. Not saying they shouldn't.
L
It's so true, I have fostered so many pets, dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, and it's exhausting but very gratifying when people literally fight over who gets them. And I'm a detective and have a contract to make sure the pet goes to very good home. I do my homework for the animals. And again, yes it hurts to let go but it's gratifying as I make room for the next one.
I have a rescued dachshund that looked awful when I got her. She was horrifically abused by her previous owner. She was so emaciated you could see every bone in her spine, every rib, it was awful. She was also nearly bald. All her hair had just fallen out. She was so afraid she couldn't even be walked and she would run, peeing on herself everywhere, if you ever tried to pick her up.
She attached to one of my other dogs though, a sweet boy named Jack, and while he doesn't really seem to give her much thought one way or the other, she is just obsessed with him. She follows him everywhere, snuggles up to him to sleep, and so on. Thats how we were finally able to start walking her, by taking Jack with her so he could lead her around.
It's been 2 years now and she has put on some weight, though despite being a healthy weight now you can still see her spine very vividly though you can't see her ribs anymore. A lot of her hair has grown back as well, but she still has bald patches. She still runs away and won't let us pick her up, so we have to corner her to pick her up to do things like take her to the vet, but she has gotten used to us and will sleep in the bed with us without any thought now and will follow us around a bit, though keeping a safe distance. Jack also taught her how to play with toys. When we first got her, she didn't seem to have any idea what a toy was, but now she will run through the house squeaking them and rolling upside down in dog beds and all sorts of other playful activities.
She's still very nervous and has a long way to go, and she probably won't ever fully recover from her ordeal and be able to fully trust anyone again, but at least she is happy and safe now.
Thank you for doing this! I had 2 rescue doxies saved from an owner who threatened to shoot them when he got tired of them. They were with me for 10 years (oldest -who was 7 when I got him) and 15 years (youngest was 1). Best dogs ever! I still miss them so much. Doxies are special. But I do have 4 other snuggle bugs - all rescues.
It makes you wonder what the previous owners/shitheads must've done to this poor dog... people can be horrible.
A friend of mine is a vet at our local shelter and she asked me to come help take care of the animals. I got to meet MANY foster families and here's what I can tell you... MOST of them failed at their 1st foster, too! It's a tough job but necessary, and I'm so grateful to the families that give it a try! They're incredible people and they have my humble gratitude for eternity❤️
We lost our great dane last year ,gorgeous dogs ,still miss the slobber, thanks for caring ❤ love from Darlington uk

She did SUCH A GOOD JOB!!
He looks SO GOOD going to his forever home!
Love seeing good hearted people making a difference, hats off to this woman!
What a good boy. I could never foster. I’d never be able to give them up. Thank you for taking such loving care for him.
I so admire foster parents, to furpeople, as they are able to allow their fosters to go. I'm sure it's difficult. I could never foster. I'd end up keeping them.....lol
Same here! So much respect. I could never, I would end up with a whole zoo
Me too. I’d be a foster failure/success every time!
my mom tried fostering 2 dogs like 10 years ago, yeah we ended up keeping them.
Yea me too
Exactly, same here...
I respect foster parents so much - they put the puppers first - they build them up so their forever family who might not have the skills to do so can make them part of their own family. I think they are heroes and incredibly giving generous remarkable people.
+1 if I should foster dogs I will end up with 10, 15 .... it should be very difficult to let them go to their forever family
I noticed his eyes started looking better towards the end not as infected looking but he's certainly a very lully boy they are all lullies xx
That must have been the hardest thing... to let him go.. Thank you for what you did for Tofu - Yeti.
He definitely looks like a double Merle, the mostly white and eye and ear defects, it’s so sad that he was given up especially since Great Danes live a short life span 😭 I’m glad he’s happy now❤️

Beautiful quote and so true. That’s why it seems so heartbreaking to re-home again. 💔
He looked at her like “momma u coming?” 🥺
People that rescue and foster are it for the animal not themselves. It’s not easy but it’s very rewarding.
SHE DID HER JOB! SHE REHABILITATED HIM BY EMOTIONALLY GETTING HIM TO ACCEPT LOVE AND TRUST FROM HUMANS AND SHE FATTENED HIM UP. Instead of him being a shy, insecure basket case, she loved him and prepared him to be loved forever by his forever family. Now that’s a happy ending.
I'm so glad you did this video, he's such a handsome boy! Had to be hard to watch him go because I would be a foster failure for sure.

Tofu is such a loving creature. Even when he does the wrong things, he does them for the right reasons. Watching him, I realize I would make a terrible foster parent. Although there are wonderful people eager to provide them with forever homes, I just couldn't give them away. And my home would become a zoo.
Yeti.
Tofu is such a cute name.

Right there with you. I am like that even with my plants and that is why this place is a jungle. I can’t even begin to imagine the wild kingdom this place would be. And what’s worse, my sweet, sweet boyfriend loves me so much that he would never say no. That is how we ended up with 4 cats and 2 dogs and a snake. All rescues.
Tofu radiates such Scooby-Doo energy, the creators of that show really did a good job representing the essence of the great dane 😂
My Black Lab came from a Foster Mom. Kellie was the first dog Katie fostered. She cried when she gave the dog to us. That was almost 12 years ago. I'm grateful to Katie for my dog who is sleeping next to me as I write this.
I love how big ole dogs don’t realize the mass of their bodies. My girl included. When we rescued her, the shelter dubbed her a Great Dane/Pit Bull mix. So yeah, she’s a big and bulky girl.
No, she’s not fat by any means. Shes like a walking tank that knows zero hostility.
Yeah, as kids a friend's Burmese mountain dog thought he was a lap dog. He never quite understood he was a teenage crushing machine 😁
Lmao my dogs previous owners thought they had bought a Pomeranian mix so they had treated her like a lap dog for the first months of her life, well seventy pounds later and she still acts like a lap dog
that's such an accurate description of my dog! she has no idea how big, strong and scary-looking she is
Watching big ol doggos acting like tiny little lap dogs and squirm their way onto your lap always makes me laugh! 😂
@@anthonychihuahua they never just want to just sit though, they always seem intent on leaning in for a snuggle, thereby removing any chance of the snuggles recipient getting any oxygen 😂👍
Wonderful how she took him in and really helped to trust, I could never be a foster, I'd be a failure, I wouldn't be able to give them up, she's a brave person and I am glad she found yeti a permanent loving home.
Hello Vanessa, How are you doing?
Thank you for helping Tofu make the transition to his forever home. it must be bitter sweet for you. You gave him the love to make that adjustment. How wonderful 💕
What an AMAZING Foster Mum! She is SO unselfishly giving to these dogs! She LOVES them ALL up and makes room in her heart for more! The most loving an unselfish thing you can do is to Foster any animal until their forever home is available!
Mom: "my Great Dane is an escape artist."
Dog: "how much of an escape artist do you have to be when the doggie gate is like a fourth of my body size?" 🤔🤨
Exactly!
It is very rare for a Great Dane to be able to clear a jump that high. Great danes are very big but dont have a lot of power in their legs (compare them to the legs of a lion or tiger, which are both big and able to jump well) so springing up so high is very unusual.
@@zanthiablue5254 It was just a joke lol
@@endofaneraoutnow3473 well yeah but it was still based in the thought that it should be expected for the dog to hop the gate? I figure a the dodo comment section is generally receptive to Dog Facts.
@@zanthiablue5254 - you're right. The moment I saw Yeti clear that fence - WOW! We have several friends with GDs and they are the size of a small pony 🤣 but are not agile at all. Yeti is so graceful 💖
I didn’t know Great Danes were known for being “Velcro dogs” until I adopted my own lol.
Wow lovely
As a little girl, I could ride my bike and attach my Great Dane's leash to the handlebars. She never tripped me up, always stayed by my side and was the best cuddle bug there ever was. 🖤
It's true. They're giant sweethearts.
@@Satans_lil_helper I lost my childhood Dane this last November and she was the biggest, sweetest girl. She was always there for me when I was younger, and she make it almost to my senior year of high school (she was 10 1/2). When I was a kid, I would stand in a shoe box and she would pull me across the tile Ike a sled! It was a lot of fun, but in hindsight, probably not great for her hips. Big cuddlebugs are the best ❤️
His name, Yeti, suits his color but also his size! This is quite the commitment for the adopters. I'm so glad there are loving people to give them homes. It's so funny to see a dog so large convinced he can be a lap dog. He's a LOVE ❤ So sweet. Thank you to all who cared so much
I have a dane pup who is 10 months old and I believe (hasn’t been to a vet in a few months) is now 130-140 lbs (not overweight in the slightest! He is just really big for his age meaning he’s gonna be a very big boy all grown up). He loves squishing us and cuddling on the couch. Danes are big ol babies with so much love (and slobber) to give. But be warned, they are called the heartbreak breed for a reason. My family learned that the hard way…. Rip Luna 😭
I believe the window to a human's soul is manifested in the way they treat animals. This woman......awesome.
I rescue abused dogs, work with each dog 3-6 months and find them a forever loving home and it’s one of the hardest, patience testing tasks there is but when they leave it’s a feeling of accomplishment words cannot express
The greatest act of love is to take a broken dog, like this pup who has been through so much and make them whole again. The natural reaction of pet lovers is to say that the dog is so happy and emotionally improved that putting him through another rehoming is just going to throw his life into confusion again. We all must remember that those who foster dogs are very special and know that it is vital for them to seek out a wonderful forever home that gives the foster pup the continued love and adoration and frees up the foster moms and dads to bless another dog with their knowledge, experience, until that pup is ready to move on freeing up a space for a new dog in great need of a foster family. I can't think of a better system to make the biggest difference!
Isn't Tofu a lovely lad? What a wonderful friend to have.
This warms my heart to see him with people who love him. I have found that a lot of people look at animals as being expendable. My cats are my babies. They are part of my family. I wish we would all think like this lady does. Thank you for taking such good care of him.
This is the best and sweetest candid camera I've seen.
i HOPE HIS FOREVER HOME WILL GET A SECOND DOG, SINCE HE HAS SEPERATION ANXIETY AND ANOTHER DOG REALLY COULD HELP HIM.
@Marla Lofton Yes In Natural world dogs are never alone--so being just one dog its a completely unnatural state for them...I didn't know that till just recently... If at all possible get two or listen to dog experts to learn what to do to help.
@@Kaylin_h Absolutely agree. I always get my dogs in pairs because it helps them with separation anxiety. Currently I own 3 dogs. Love them all to pieces.
klynn Harris it's actually a completely natural state to have lone dogs, even in the wild it's common. Same with cats. They're predatory animals by instinct and nature, so being alone isn't unnatural. If you don't teach them to be separate, then that's when separation anxiety develops. Yes, having pairs or trios, or more, is good for the dog and helps with releasing energy through play, it's not necessary at all.
YEAH I HOPE SO TOO WAIT WHY ARE WE YELLING?
