@@bayouboigaming well I personally enjoy the exploration and trying to work out how tf do you get to that castle down there or whatever, but I can see how some people might not like it.
@@bayouboigaming And it actually gave me the opposite feeling that it does in the base game. Previously you'd stumble upon 1, maybe 2 of these "holy shit, I thought this was a sidepath, but it's actually so much content pathways. It made you feel hugely rewarded for bothering to put it on your list or for trying to roll into that one wall. In the DLC seemingly 70% of the areas are "hidden" behind unclear paths and it detracts from the exploration a lot. Plenty of times have I seen my bud next to me in a completely different area, asked him how he got there and he was just like "it's somewhere here". You go down so many sidepaths that wind into bigger areas, that you naturally lose out on sidepaths from earlier, that ALSO lead into bigger areas. And now you're frustratedly walking past every damn door in order to find the one that isn't just hiding 3 smithing stone 2 and rather the required area to move forward. I guess they wanted people to miss stuff and then return back to the DLC and find more, but they overdid it, imo. If everything's hidden, the magic of finding it gets lost in the annoyance of HAVING to find it.
It really is- I'm playing through myself too now, but there's just something soulhealing about watching this playthrough and enjoying the community too.
I finally get to enjoy my reward of watching Lobos after finally finishing the DLC myself ... it's that much sweeter watching Looby discover and destroy everything for the first time 🤩🐺
The visuals and the storytelling are just awe-inspiring. If anything I feel they indulge a bit too much in the sheer size of the levels and those vast spaces seem a bit on the empty side… but that may as well be an intentional effect they want to achieve. The verticality though, it's off the charts! 😲
I haven't finished yet, but from the bits I have, I do think the emptiness is intentional as you suggested. It evokes this feel of loss, of sorrow. Combined with the music, it feels like an irreplaceable loss has been suffered before we even arrived, and the world is even more doomed than the Lands Between, living out its final moments before fading. It reminds me of a much more fleshed out, shadowy version of the frozen Painted World of Ariandel from DS3.
I much prefer this over the base game where I felt a bit overwhelmed by the amount of things happening at times. I think they listened to the copy/paste dungeon complaints many people made and reigned themselves in a bit. The vertical level design is so good! I adore peeking over a cliff to see what's coming and thinking about how I might be able to get there. Feels like true exploration compared to following paths on a flat plain
I misread Bloofiend on my playthrough and thought it said Bloodfriend. I was thus instantly and forever enamored with those portly, clumsy, and altogether chill mobs
I bought the DLC, but probably won't be able to play it for a few more months... so I'm experiencing this for the first time vicariously through this wolfman.
I've bought it too, and won't be able to enjoy it fully for a while. Might be able to load it up now and then, but my available time to play it is somewhat limited at present. I was going to try to avoid spoilers until I could play it, but I can't ignore new FromSoft content being played by Lobos.
@@EverThoughtful yeah i feel you, when i loaded up my save i had already started journey 2 but didn't even finish the tutorial. LOL GG gotta speed to dlc rip
@@spacep00ner I have a few characters at various points along Journey 2, but I would prefer to try the DLC on new game. Fortunately, I do have one character who met the requirements to access the DLC, but hadn’t yet progressed to NG+.
Oh, Elden Ring... Now that I finished this myself, nothing better than watching my favorite streamer of all time play through my favorite DLC of all time.
The camera in dancing lion isn't great, but it isn't necessarily a "camera boss." Most people who complain about the camera in that fight seem to just try to stay glued to him the whole time, which is where the camera issues come from. I feel like he was meant to be fought at mid-range, dodging in to attack and backing out at the right time. If you fight him that way the camera isn't nearly as big of a problem.
DLC came out, made a new character, got through the game. Figured out a nice faith build. Two weeks later was the patch. Boom. DLC purchased. Oathbreaker set acquired. Let’s bonk some baddies and watch Lobos while we’re at it!
I've been picking away at this pretty slowly (and plan on watching the whole playthrough over time), and I'm on the part where you're drinking Maker's while fighting Rellana, and it keeps making me want to pour myself some bourbon. Not the worst problem to have, really.
I gotta be "that guy" and say that FROM need to do something with camera movement against big jumping enemies or when it's close to walls - made this fight a little bit annoying to me.

7:07:35 I also needed more! I had a npc summon and a spirit on my first try and I decided to die and re-do it fully solo so I could experience the fight + music better
I'm gonna enjoy this a lot, thanks Lobos. Btw, I have a question. Does staggering an enemy or breaking their animations with attacks have to do with a stat, or with using big weapons? Thanks :)
Also, regarding Rellana, I was having trouble seeing the chains, so I summoned my mimic. Turns out her weakness is bleed, because my mimic is on an arcane build on it downed her so fast I accidentally one shot her. My boy did too well.
Tip for rellanna, just gonna post here in case someone's looking at the comments for help For the second part of the soul/carian gs she does, you can dodge it by rolling just after you see a flash of blue.
I try to mimic how you learn bosses, not trying to win every try, taking time to just dodge and learn the patterns. Using a great shield to block and see how the boss moves without getting OS... and it worked against a boss lots of players hate. Thanks
I’m watching this up to how far I’ve gotten and ready to pause it if I see something I haven’t found like I’m watching the gas meter and only have $21.57 to my name
I put off playing this due to financial and time constraint and now that im well into the swingof thing i have come to check out your blind LP and..... did you just one shot that solutitde knight??! Arr you shitting me?😂 it took me 20 attempts and ended up parrying him to oblivion yo stop him poise abuse and killing me (with me measly 40 vit) Damn Lobo, hou still got it! ❤
Just curious, how many points did you have in health and did you obtain enough Scadutree fragments as you played? Personally, I find the DLC challenging but fair.
Rellana on NG+7 is absolute hell, and I love it. You get combo'd for over 2,400 health from the moon attack if you get hit by the first moon, so even with 99 vigor, 8 scadutree blessing levels, a level 567 character, and Radahns Great Rune, you still get one-shot by it, and you get one or two shot from literally all her other attacks. I spent two hours on her because I basically had to no-hit her. I didn't use bleed either, but instead I used a max upgrade Milady with lightning damage since there's a pool of water in the middle of the boss room.
@@itsonlyhugs9486 Mate, it's not overleveled if a successful attempt takes ten minutes or more. I'm not mad though, I love a good challenge. I beat Messmer yesterday, and earlier today I beat Romina (I think that's spelled right, but I could be completely botching it). I'm having a blast so far, whoever says the dlc is bad is just suffering from skill issuitis imo.
@@gabri-immortale Yeah, I could have done that, but I'd have to re-buff it if I wanted a consistent deffense buff, and with her aggression in the 2nd phase, there's barely enough time to do that, so it'd be more of a headache to me than just learning her attack patterns. Really fun fight though, at least to me. Been using her swords, Backhand Blade, and Spear of the Impaler. Fun setup, and works well enough to get the job done.
Hey is it just me or lobos gets VERY little damage compared to my copy? I know he's using a reviewer key and had already downloaded it before the time was up, is it possible he's playing a version for reviewers with a more forgiving scaling?
Yeah like, I never had a chance to suffer Bleed state because most mobs just killed me before it could fill the meter and that was during the whole dlc, mind you i was RL 150~ back then.
which enemies? what are your resistances? are you the same scadutree blessing level? are you considering that I'm using defensive talismans? lots of factors to consider.
@@LobosjrGaming Yeah, I went to the same area on 2:12:00 before the final boss because i was hunting for fragments (may have been around RN 170 by then with 50 VIT, 16 blessings) with a mix of heavy armor that would just allow me to mid roll (talismans included) and i could barely take 3 hits from those enemies without dying, same with most mobs tbh
@@LobosjrGaming Hey, first of all I'm not implying anything, it's been a fun watch so far. I know there are different factors to consider, but I noticed something felt a bit different right from the beginning. I'm playing with the same dragoncrest greatshield talisman + crucible tree set + 50 vigor and even the early enemies you fight they did reasonably little damage to you, but for me even messmer soldiers could two shot me, and the black knight with the big mace near the beginning it was almost a oneshot. I'm now +18 blessing and 60 vigor and only now things have become more manageable. Weird. its just something I noticed and my friends had a similar experience in that regard. I'm probably missing something.
I got so frustrated with the furance golems because I kep trying to kill them (The gimmick way) when infact it was so much easier to just kill them with melee on horse lol.
@@Soothsayer579 most of the golems have a ledge somewhere in their vicinity, you get them to walk up to you and they start doing the swirly wirl wind attack that will summon meteors. During this time you chug 5-6 giant Firebombs into them like a basketball hoop. The reason I find this harder than just melee is because if you dont kill him outright with the pots hits worldwide aoe will essentially make you reload the area.

4:34:28 I live for moments like this lmfao
7:03:06, cheers! I'll drink to that. Well said.
You shouldn't be so over leveled. Extra punishment ;)
Barrier of gold

Alright i gotta get the beast claws
Yo the DLC playlist is backwards. Which would make binging it a tiny bit less convenient.
wow only level 116! :O i was around 169 in Belurat, Tower Settlement!
Id like to see the twitch chat here on those videos, what do you think?
I was enjoying my time until you said you cut spaghetti. As an italian that hurt more than the enemies in the dlc
So...When you gonna RL1, NG7, fist only the DLC?
@@MakiNoAtorie ah I'm not trying to defend myself, just genuinely curious! I hadn't heard that yet and would be very interested if it was the case
Is it me or does it seem that Mikela is Exodia?
Man, the mouse camera controls might be good for playing, but it's dizzying trying to watch.
6:26:26 - Totally didn't happen to me 😅😂.
this build you have takes SO LITTLE DAMAGE.. my god lol.
I'd feel like i was cheating XD
The Toilet of the Skibitree?
Special day ☀also, your spaghetti 🍝was like 50% meat🍖:)
🤣 believe it’s pronounced scaydo-tree - scadu being old English for shade/shadow.
As an English person, if you pronounce it "scay-do" tree we will laugh at you. "Ska-doo" tree
@@JtotheMeezy Well, I'm laughing at the doo doos
Is "yosh" a yoshimitsu or a yoda reference🤔 or maybe both
i think soycrates said the name is 'yoshi' in japanese translation!
6:45:34 "nobody's ever in their prime in a fromsoft game" ... Lol boy do I have News for you
8:29:25 death by spin cycle
7:28:55 double moon lol
I got so frustrated with the furance golems because I kep trying to kill them (The gimmick way) when infact it was so much easier to just kill them with melee on horse lol.
What's the gimmick way?
@@Soothsayer579 most of the golems have a ledge somewhere in their vicinity, you get them to walk up to you and they start doing the swirly wirl wind attack that will summon meteors. During this time you chug 5-6 giant Firebombs into them like a basketball hoop.
The reason I find this harder than just melee is because if you dont kill him outright with the pots hits worldwide aoe will essentially make you reload the area.
i want to go home and google chrome
I wanted the hammer but got the shield
