Hi everyone, this is a topic that is extremely important to me. I’ve detailed in the bio the injuries I’ve had as a by product of my old posture. To this day I’m still dealing with the repercussions. Would love to hear you’ve had similar experiences to myself
Excellent job Giles in explaining a proper set up to avoid back pain! As a Super Senior, I have had a upright set up as you have described for years. I elevate the club as you have done, bringing the arms to my chest and bend down at the hips to the ball. It's saved my back! Well Done Giles!
Excellent video. I have had back pain for 15 years . I have had one lesson around posture and am bending from the hips not the waist. Problem solved. Now to the question of left hip discomfort.
I 💯 had the same issues last year. I went the visually appealing route and my game and back suffered. This year I’ve been working on a softer back and the swing feels much more fluid with less extension and flipping. Great vid!
This is feeling like a lightbulb moment for me. I learnt the posture the same as you and have continued with it ever since. Played regularly for 20 years and the last 10 a lot less. Always had niggling back issues. Getting back into golf now and filming my swing shocked at how little turn I have and have always suffered with early extension. Trying to get a fuller turn just gives me a lot of head movement. Will definitely give this new posture a go. Cheers
Great advice Giles. I have given this video to a golf mate and he will be trying it out. I discovered this myself a few years ago, when taking up golf again in retirement after a 35 year hiatus due to a busy career. My mates are a bit pained in the back after golf but I am usually fine. I ache in other places, legs and a recurring tennis elbow but not my back and that’s because I do exactly what you have demonstrated here. Thank you for posting.

Glad it was helpful and that your back is saved
Your videos are all worth watching. And now they also have health benefits. Thank you very much!
Glad you’re enjoying them 😁

Glad it helped! Left hip can be from excessive tilting & sliding in the downswing

So glad you’ve changed & seen the huge positive results. Has your back pain eased since changing your posture?

You’ll be amazed when you try this posture it’ll feel so much easier to turn and your back pain will go

Exactly that, share the message to save their backs
Would the same thing apply to driver, cause I feel like my setup to an iron vs driver are quite different feeling wise.
100% its the same with all clubs
Appreciate it. I also noticed Kyle Berkshire has this setup and I always thought it was super weird, but I definitely gotta try it!
@@bensenjoe7105 give it a try and let me know how it goes
Wait - that’s a drill? A pro I played last weekend does this before every shot.
Pre shot routine or drill
@@Gilesgillgolf He does it as a preshot routine. Think I'll try it when I am able to play
@@mikewilliams1479 give it a go
@@Gilesgillgolf In a few weeks after my hand recovers. Will let you know. Any putting vids coming?
@@mikewilliams1479 none made yet
I think Wil Zalitoris had to change his posture because his was similar, causing him lots of pain.
Exactly that! Fantastic example of a current PGA Tour pro suffering from a poor posture
My lower back is stuffed after I finish a round. Must try this. Thank you.
Yes 100% you need to try this
@@Gilesgillgolf Thanks bud. Great video!
