Hi Lovelies! In this video I share how I cook the Gambian National Dish Domoda, also known as Peanut/groundnut stew. Hope you like it and do comment and let me know if you do 😘😘😘😘
Good to see someone using Maggi in their cooking videos. So many african cooking videos get demonized for using Maggi because they read somewhere online that it does this or it does that to your body. Some people always get caught up trying to live life for a long time that they forget trying to live life for a good time.
Unless you're eating them like candy I think you'll live to tell the tale, we have a liver for a reason. Some people are scared of enjoying life I swear!
Really enjoyed your video please do more thank you. I also am a pretty good cook in America but I love your style I love the way you show your food. excellent presentation keep up the good work and thank you for sharing
Thank you so much for this channel. My daughter is half Gambian and is curious about her culture. Since the quickest way to learn about A country and culture is through their food I look forward to making this for her. Once again thank you.
Where I work there are a lot of Gambians or people from west Africa and every time they cook they offer me some and it is absolutely fantastic. I'm glad I found this so I can give it a shot at making some day, but honestly, I don't think I'll come close.
You are so pretty! I make my peanut soup the same way but with no carrots or potatoes. i add okra or mixed veggies. Your dish looks absolutely delicious! Thank you from Pennsylvania.....
Jag ska absolut testa receptet, vad domoda väcker minnen en av mina närmsta vänner när jag bodde i Gbg är Gambian och brukade käka hos de flera gånger Domoda var ju höjdpunkten dock, Tack för grym video ❤❤
Great tutorial, might try to make some over the weekend. While I'm not from Gambia, I had the chance to spend 10 days there (mostly in Banjul and surrounding areas). Absolutely amazing country with really friendly people and very interesting culture.
I've went to Gambia a few years ago, and absolutely love Gambia and the Gambians. Juffure, Banjul, Serekunda, all highly recommandabel to pay a visit for everyone who is considering to visit the Gambia. The cuisine is so divine, especially domoda. Thank you kindly for sharing your recipe. I'll definitly make it soon (probably the upcoming weekend). Love and respect from The Netherlands ✌🏻❤
thank you your post. lovely dish, everyone enjoyed it. This dish is fun to play with, by added a few different species, I can go with a Indian or, a Thai twist.
There's a Cameroonian and Nigerian restaurant here and I love it so much! I would love to see you do lots more then I can cook authentic recipes at home too x
You used maggi! I love it. This looks so delicious I'm salivating. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I will make this for sure. Also those nails are on point. Love it!
Yes chile!! When I first started watching videos to learn to cook like a Proper West African Woman lol and I saw everyone using Maggi I was like "Yeah" because I always use that and it's readily sold here in Philly. I was so excited to see you do a cooking video Sis! And I will most certainly be making your recipe over the weekend....Keep 'em coming!🖤
And it tastes fantastic! To make it vegetarian just remove the meat and replace with tofu or soya. Most of gambian meals are pescatarian and easily changed to suit anyone’s diet. 😍😍
I tried this at home after watching this video and i must confess it was soooo yummy! Wasnt sure about peanut mix with chicken but wow! Yummy yummy..now waiting for Nigerias jollof rice
You inspired me to cook this dish too :) Well sort of. Since I am vegetarian I will try a vegetarian twist on this one. But the basic idea of the sauce is ingenious!

I haven't had good cooking like that since my friend from Sierra Leone used to be my in home care nurse when I got really sick with my Lupus a few years back. We lost touch when she returned to her home to visit family. She used to cook the best food for me. I'm gonna try to make a vegan version of this dish. It looks so yummy!!!! All that sauce!!!!! I'm drooling!!!! 😍😜😛😊😙
+JoAnna Johnson aww Joana thank you so much for your comment! I am also part Sierra Leonian. I have made it before in a vegan alternative and it tasted same so I think you shall like it indeed. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I hope you are feeling much better these days and I will definitely keep you in my prayers

Looks lovely, a little tip for the Maggie, you can just put next to the stove and it will soften,so it's easy to use
Or just add to the sauce, it melts in no time. Saves the crushing with fingers.
