I can't believe there aren't more views. This is the best video I have found on the pin block. And this video is very good. Well put togeather.

The strings arent all the same diameter though? This is a VERY key point in stringing. Misinformation like that is dangerous...

exactly. Also the information about the thickness of pinblock layers is debatable.

the string diameter is not the same on all the piano. there are several different diameters in the piano and i´m talking about the naked strings. the core of the bass strings are not usually the same neither.

Please correct the information about the strings being all the same diameter. They are not. There are several size bass cores and we use (mostly) sizes 12-22 gauge steel strings for the plain wires We use a micrometer to measure them and they get smaller as they go up the scale. ASK YOUR TECHNICIANS!

I have a cracked pin block of an old 1884 pleyel piano. Do u guys make pin blocks for antique pianos?

Pen and pin are not pronounced in the same way. Just as a C and a C# are different pitches.

should all the pins be the same size? i cant tune a number of strings on my piano as some pins have a slightly larger diameter the the rest.

How'd you do on your piano? Don't you just need a bigger wrench?

Bass strings are tighter than high treble strings, so unconfuse yourself before you spew garbage. And cut the musak while you're talking, or at least, use GOOD piano music.
