The hardest part is just getting space to work. So if you have that You can get started with some clamps , angle grinder, safety gear and there are several videos on RUclips on making a cheap forge for heat treating

Here's a challenge for sharpness: fillet onion skin paper without going all the way through, at least a strip 3/4" long, 3/8" wide.
We’ll see what everyone brings and how they test it! I’m sure there will be some epic tests!
That takes a purpose built knife! I did a custom convex grind kitchen knife that will pull that off, but my wood chopper is never that sharp.
I'd love to see freerk wieringa participate in one of these challenges.

Is this the first time you're a participant rather than a judge? (In one of the challenges you've arranged, I mean).
We’ve only had judges for the last 3 challenges. Before that I participated in all of them.
How do I participate in the challenge?

You’d still have to have a YT channel with 1000+ subs, but yes I think we could do that.
