Whether as Ida Morgenstern, the deaf housekeeper in "Murder By Death", or as Rosie who described Bounty as "the quicker picker upper", or as any other role, I loved Nancy Walker! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
So happy to find another fan! She always reminds me of my grandmother. She had very different hair, but otherwise very similar, including attitude. Watching Nancy fills that grandmother spot
Sally and the baby died in a plane crash. But, "Mildred, meanwhile, was written out as having left the McMillans to open her own diner on the East Coast, which was an inside joke playing up her role as Rosie the waitress in a then-ongoing series of commercials for Bounty paper towels." Nancy Walker left McMillan to star in her own short-lived show. I have no memory of the Nancy Walker Show. After Susan left the series, she made movies for several years, then starred with Jane Curtain in "Kate & Allie," in the 1980's. I liked Kate & Allie, and still remember some scenes.
One of my favorite tv shows I watched as a kid .. I wanted to be Sally…**Hairstyle, Yoga, & Football shirt to sleep in & Sweet.. ***My husband probably thinks the screaming..😱
My favorite Mildred line of *all time* regarding Halloween decorations for the deaf kids at the hospital "haven't they been through enough?".😅😅😅 Also, *why* do deaf kids have to be in the hospital??? 😅😅😅
In the Devil You Say episode, at the end where Sally is nearly knifed to death in the satanic ritual, Sally, like any other person, would've been very emotional. But she acted like nothing happened and had the gull to ask, "How do you like my hair? To me, that was stupid writing and made me get turned off by what was a pretty good episode.
Was it really the Scottish Highlands or Topanga Canyon Park near Los Angeles Ca 😇😇??!!!???! A lot of houses are built there now...... and much dryer than it was 50 years ago!!! Saw many TV and movie sets growing up around there and PCH . Always see something familiar when watching 1970s retro TV !!

Loved this growing up! Thanks for posting.
I loved this show, until Sally and Mildred died. 😢
The show wasn't the same without Sallie and Mildred...they were the natural and warm moments.
