Great demo! (As usual.) I had a bit of an epiphany while I was listening to you. I've played a B3L since 1978. At the time, I was playing on a Bach 1 1/2C screwrim with a 25 throat and had great power all of the way to F# on this horn. I now play a Marcinkiewicz Rick Baptist. I haven't played regularly for years, and only in the past 6 months have I started playing 3-4 days a week. It was a tough go at first getting back into it. I've progressed to the point that I can now play quietly! The epiphany... Listening to you play the X3, especially the legato passages, I heard a very familiar sound. The transitions were like butter, and the pitch center was perfect. You had a sound that was definitely very "Schilke-like" and familiar to me from my own playing. I guess that the epiphany was what a great horn I have. AND also emphasized how important our equipment is.
