Neither kill a child, nor a woman. nor an aged man. Bring no harm to the trees, nor burn them with fire, especially those which are fruitful. Slay not ary of the enemy's flock. save for your food. You are likely to pass by people who have devoted their lives to monast ic services; leave them alone"
Muslims are clear on who our enemies are. They do not go bombing around everywhere. Isis is not islam on many basis. They do not follow our teachings. We even have strict rules against our enemies, why would we kill our own people? If people actually learned about our religion, they would notice that our religion is one of kindness and empathy

They were allowed to fight because their lives were being ignored and being made difficult just because they were muslims. Some were even being abused and taken advantage of since most of the first muslims were slaves.
