Since we’ve been making “at home” videos, we took this opportunity to make new Japanese friends who actually live in Japan (aside from Keido who lives in Canada) to take part in this video! MNL48 was the 1st Filipino “Idol” group, most notably following the “J-pop Idol” style. Because of this, our Japanese friends are here to help us understand Japanese Idol culture through MNL48, and how different it is from Korean K-pop Idol culture, and the West! 💜
Keido Kindness, it was a pleasure hearing your thoughts about this group. Your comments were objective while still being considerate of the audience. Loved what you said about idols being "products" because essentially this group is a "franchise" of AKB48. I recently found MNL48 during the pandemic and was thoroughly impressed by their amazing vocals! You must listen to their acapella renditions - beautiful! I recommend Time After Time on MYXLive (ruclips.net/video/XIlezhbgvK4/видео.html). Maybe next time you can do a comparison of some of the international 48 groups interpreting the same song - High Tension perhaps? Again, thank you for taking the time to react! ❤️
Because of that, try to watch this, song cover of MNL48 Sheki, psycho of red velvet, ruclips.net/video/A5DIOyoXb-o/видео.html Sheki is the center of aitakatta and pag-ibig fortune cookie, in that MV..
Honestly, you guys broke the stereotype concept of Filipino fans who liked AKB48 and hated MNL48 because they're different and not "in the norm". I hope this video will shine light to those fans who hated MNL48 after they watch this video of you guys reacting to it and loving MNL48.
Ichirou Takashima Sir, you are very much mistaken. Yes, there are such fans, but they're the minority. The majority of the haters are usually K-Pop fans and normal people for the reason you have mentioned. The AKB48 & MNL48 fans are very supportive as much as possible.
For me it's no problem for this, actually i'm so proud to existence the filipino versuon idol group like MNL48 because i'm fan of Akihabara48 (AKB48) since 2008
Objectively, MNL48 is the most talented among the 48Gs. I just hope that Filipinos support MNL48 more. These girls are so talented that they can shine individually of they want to.
I'm really curious on how they will captivate the filipino audience with their upcoming 6th single River. Ph peeps loves vibing to music with catchy beats
Depends on how they pronounce the tagalog lyrics. If the pronunciation/intonation still sounds foreign despite being tagalog people will be uncomfortable.
Im new, and I wanna help to make them known more.. River is a good song, the sister group from Bangkok has good mv.. The song is great especially the dance (idk if it's the same) But if they successfully performed the video, it could be their breakthrough..
11:54 she explained it so well. Even I don't understand why I didn't like idol groups before (yes that was me in the past, now I've changed 😅) The first time I've watched MNL48 in showtime I always thought they won't make it big in the Philippines. I was like "will people actually listen to them?". But now, after seeing their hardwork and that they actually do have talent, I started to support them.
I'm Filipino but not a 48 fan, but after watching this I might check out MNL48 mv's. Filipinos in general prefer ballads (the sadder the better) and big vocals, and we also have somewhat western tastes in terms of girl groups (sexy). So maybe MNL48 don't have as much traction here, as you said their concepts cater more to Japanese tastes.
You should check them out, they maybe different on your taste but they offer something unique that you might love 😊 they are also a good singers so you should watch their live performances as well if you check them out. Ps. Promise, they are worth it 😍
Their thoughts are actually what we need for HHE (the company handling MNL48) to listen. But their real problem is AKS (AKB's management), where every move HHE makes must be approved by AKS. The reason why MNL has Japanese accent to their song is because that's the requirement MNL should follow, which kinda sucks because it looks like that AKS don't trust HHE to handle the group the way they know the culture more than AKS. And now MNLoves are lowkey being rude to HHE because they can't get the responsibility they have to partake in. But I hope they'll reach success soon because THEY DESERVE THAT 💙
Basically Ang sabi, dapat e approve my AKS (company na bag manage sa AKB) Ang lahat ng decisions ng HHE (company's na nag mamanage ng MNL). Ang Japanese accent ng MNL ay requirement ng AKS sa MNL.
Agree. I hope they improve on that and I also hope the MNL48 girls will have their own studio. :( Seeing them at Showtime, makes me feel bad because they don't have much space, even when all of them are all dancing on the stage. Just saying
Mr. Beast It's the studio that produced these MNL48 MVs: Palusot Ko'y Maybe, 365 Araw ng Eroplanong Papel, and Sweet Talking Sugar. It was also part of the ICYMI documentary.
Yes, idol groups is still young in the Philippines but its slowly gaining popularity, as long as their fan base keeps on growing in numbers, we may see more of them. But they have a lot of catching up to do because rock bands and balladers have establish their dominance since the 1970's. Great video.
MNL48 is a great mix of Japanese, Filipino, and Korean influences/concepts. The dancing is more akin to K-Pop sometimes, J-Pop other times. The singing is J-Pop with the "power" and "range" of OPM, the lyrics are actually typical of local songs, visuals are a mix of all three, and the synchronization and scale of their performances come close to AKB48's.
Like I have full bangs growing up, then the evolution of bangs, transition from full bang to side bangs to half side bangs, to thin bangs, etc. we did not miss any bangs HAHAHA
BEST REACTION VID FOR MNL48 (for me) so far!😭💕 3:38 and oh that’s my Kami-Oshi GABB & also the Center Girl for MNL48 High Tension..🥺🦄✨ Thank you guys, thank you EL’S Planet for this wonderful vid! More Power!😊💖 #Stan_MNL48 🇵🇭 #MNLoves #PinoyPride
I want them to see Palusot ko’y maybe because that for me is like a fusion of both kpop and jpop. Kpop with the solo/group shots and the video vibes.. jpop with the singing, dancing and uniform
For the High tension MV, it has a lot to do with what the group, MNL48, has gone through... so that’s why a lot of the video and concept has a lot of ambiguity... the white puzzle, i think, has a lot to do with finding what the group should be and what fits for the group..
This video deserves more views. I hope many Filipinos could watch this, so that they will understand the concept of 48G instead of criticizing them in unnecessary way.
Really appreciate it that you guys made this video. It's great to know the opinions of people who actually has knowledge about jpop idols. If they were koreans, they will definitely apply kpop standards which is not MNL48 or the whole 48g.
At 5:18 the one in the middle lower part of the center girls is Ikoma Rina from AKB's rival group Nogizaka46 but she had a kennin position in AKB... just glad you included her haha
He also add JKT48's Ace ex-member Melody at the Bottom Right corner. Who is also the first foreign 48group member to be part of AKB's single which I forgot the name.
when some MNLoves and bashers would say that MNL48's Pag Ibig Fortune Cookie is their worst MV in production value and visual, and then you'd hear it from these reactors of how much positive comments they gave for it. Ironic, as how opinions differ between Filipinos and International community about MNL48. See how stupid it is for any Filipino to bash this group when all they (MNL48) have been doing is give their best to make people happy, on the other hand, our neighboring countries, even some from the other side of the world, love them for showing what they are. Talent is no longer an issue. Their quirky sides make them more adorable. Their persistence to still make people smile even if they have to hide any sad feelings inside... people are just too fixed into their own interest that they no longer accept any change, the norms of society.
I think those bashers are just have diff. references in terms pop music. Jpop kawaii concept is really new for opm industry. I think its not really about, pinoy is stupid and not supportive. Those foreigners has the jpop references that's why its not hard for them to like it. I don't know if I make my explanation clear and we are at same boat but. But in terms of music it has so many studies done about it. Its like,do you think the pop musician/listener can listen to 80's or 70's song in whole 1hr. Or how about classical music. You know, its about references(I don't know if its the correct term) But its not about foreigner is much supportive than filipino
@@deearr7787 exactly what i meant about filipinos being bashers. we all have preferences, but they'll still react by commenting harshly. sure we have our own preferences, but there's no reason to offend a whole community of listeners of MNL48 just because you don't like how their song sounds. You may haven't seen how harsh some people are? not even from a Filipino. Constructive crticism has a level of acceptance, but many just don't know how to use it properly. it goes from trashtalking up to the point of being very morbid. Filipinos? fine. not everyone. But the remaining few would always come to be the noisy commentors against artists they don't like, up to the point that what they're points are sounding stupid, and not well thought of. Now do you get what I mean? You may be one of those who knows what you're talking about that everyone can relate to. but why not visit any of MNL48's comment section, and find out for yourself that it's not an unusual thing finding foreign viewers hating them, but Filipinos too who would even go in commenting against MNL48 members, shaming them, rather die than listening to their songs, even up to saying they should die. and no, that's not even a joke. You can go and defend your opinion for every basher out there, but you might have not seen the whole picture yet of how brutal some Filipinos are in public, social medias.
yup i think some (not most) mnloves think that PFC is low budget mv of emenel history (lols clowns) their equipment and all of it are expensive as heck.. the mv concept is just too simple but its still good ao thats why that's highest viewed emenel mv so far
I showed PFC's MV to my mom and she actually really liked it. I asked her what she liked about it and she said it's because it's really colorful and just overall "happy". I personally didn't like it myself I mean in a professional sense, if you get I mean, but as I streamed it over & over again I was able to look pass its flaws and appreciate its charm & vibe and now I see why it's the most viewed MV (and the fastest - 1M views in 2 months) out of all the other MVs so far.
Awww thank you EL, I love how they have all different thoughts about the group and the concept, still in the end they appreciate the music and the girls. This video really can be an eye opener for new fans about MNL48's concept as a whole.
Have you guys seen the new MNL48 sub-unit Baby Blue's original song, all in English, "Sweet Talking Sugar?" I believe it first dropped in Japan last week. It's a completely whole different vibe from all the other 48 groups, including the main MNL48. They are supposed to do R&B and Hip-hop genre from what I've read about them.
Thank you po! I hope soon MNL48 will popular in their own counrty and get accept also the 48G Concept Thank you for Reacting to their MV's MNLoves, Maraming Salamat Po!
iirc, El don't react to live performances. We have already asked about reacting to 365 Acapella in Shanghai but yeah they don't react to Live performances.
mone's comment of combination western & eastern style in high tension. yes, filipinos are a cross between western (spain/american colony) culture and eastern culture. they eat rice and noodles but also like western spanish style food plus most pinoys are catholic which is more a western religion.
Recent performances from AKB are also now more synchronized. Might be an advantage of not having huge 30+ member senbatsu and minimal sister group representation
@@allenjhondeguma6457 Yeah.. And the quality and budget of Japan is more better since you know, it all started from them after all. I'm a new in MNL48, and still trying to understand the 48 system.. I hopw MNL48 halohalo entertainment company could came up for a better way to promote them. I know the budget is a problem, but good editing or lighting will be very appreciated. (just opinion.. im new so yeah)
Please more content about them! Thank you for reacting them! I suggest you to react to acapella version of '356 Araw Ng Eroplanong Papel' and 'Time After Time' by MNL48! Please :) Showcase their vocals in this reaction next!
9:41 this is exactly what i thought when i see all the dance choreography versions of MNL48. The way of dancing is very close to "Hip Hop". The way they dancing it's not that "Kawaii" like the iDols in Japan. That's why i love their way of dancing so i understand the others opinion. (like this one: ruclips.net/video/rRQjLmZakJE/видео.html compare with AKB Live you can be surprised! ) Thanks a lot for this video this is so cool to see the Japanese react about this Filipina version of AKB :)
They are more precise, snappy, and energetic in their movements. Especially their version of Fortune Cookie. The funny thing is that they also got criticized for that, not idol like some said, which imo is absurd. They have softened their movements a bit now, but some fans are also hoping that they return to how they danced before.
I agree with that their dance is close to hiphop, although they dance the same steps, but their moves obviously not a kawaii unlike their sister groups. Mnl48 seems follows dance step strictly, while akb they seems don't care so much about it. Kawaii look first, then performance follows, something like that. Maybe, some love it, some don't like it, because it seems mnl48 goes out from the core concept of akb, it has advantage and disadvantages. Fans is diverse. But what I looking for now is to see them with their original cute fashionable diff. seifukus for each member. Although they seems got attention by the other international fans by their hiphop moves under those akb dance moves,I hope they don't forget the kawaii concept of akb. Because there is so many hiphop, fierce, wild performances moves out there.
MNL48 in PFC, they have the groove...groovy...it is not really that easy to dance DISCO. you need to have that certain groove to dance DISCO. that's why they look so good when in dancing PFC compared to AKB48. Only Oshima Yuko got those grooviness amongst AKB48 girls...DISCO!!!, you think it's that easy to dance. I don't think so. DISCO!!! Wooh!!!
When it came to culture or style that a foreign 48 group, i think they can incorporate their own culture into their idol activities especially in pv. For example, for her last single Melody able to incorporate batik indonesia into their seifuku/inssho which is unique to their country. Or their first mv, Heavy Rotation showcase them in indonesian student uniform. I think the management should get creative with how they want to include their culture in those group (especially when it's hard to get an original song for the international sister group)
JKT48 has the similar case Other country very appreciate to JKT48, however just a little bit Indonesians to appreciate JKT48, many Indonesians still don't know about JKT48 after 9 years :'( JKT48 got more attention about last a year after released Rapsodi as an original single, because this song is related to Indonesian vibes
Thank you for this we really do appreciate it.. I hope you can also let them watch the acappela version of 360 araw ng eroplanong papel because that is also one of the famous song of AKB48 in Japan. Looking forward for the next reaction for MNL48. God Bless and more power to your channel.
High Tension is really that sweet spot of Eastern and Western fusion that Filipinos like. I want them to do another one but not really abandon the cute or pabebe concept so as to give a little dynamic and duality for them.
Thank you so much El's Planer for another content featurinv MNL48. I hope should everyone recognized MNL48 through this video.. Thank you. Thank you so much. Daghang Salamat. PS: I hope you can see this comment. Japanese appreciates MNL48 but how about fellow Filipinos. I want another content about MNL48.. Filipinos na hindi gusto ang MNL48 magre-react sa kanilang Music Videos.
I think the baybayin of sumayaw is ᜐᜓᜋᜌᜏ᜔ Su ma ya w Unless ure writing it in very traditional baybayin without the cross particle. But it's still weird ᜐᜓᜋᜀᜌᜀᜏ is like Su ma a ya a wa
We complaining this since 1st year of mnl48 ... To stop using Japanese accent and make some effort in MV the editing and go to other locations and places to shoot the MV. Stop using akb48 past to make the mnl48's future..... Mnl48 can shine in Pilipino way... The problem is that the mnl48 management (HHE) and maybe the akb48 management (AkS) wants to make mnl48 journey likes akb48 journey... I wish mnl48 management HHE can stand in their own decisions and dont depend too much in what AKS says.... And the mnl48 producer is a Japanese so that's why He always agree what's AKS say.... Maybe mnl48 should change their produce or boss
the last world sousenkyo, it happened when MNL48 was just about to start hence they are not included in the event but I'm sure they will be included for the next general election. They do have an interaction with their other sister groups haha like AKB48 Asia Festival, and they also interact in their socmeds/ig haha

I personally didn't like it myself I mean in a professional sense, if you get I mean, but as I streamed it over & over again I was able to look pass its flaws and appreciate its charm & vibe and now I see why it's the most viewed MV (and the fastest - 1M views in 2 months) out of all the other MVs so far.
hands up to you, boy...for saying these out LOUD. Filipinos just can't seem to grasp what DISCO is all about...DISCO...Woooh!
Very well said on the explanation of "idols" really gave me perspective and kinda made me a little bit more open to the idea.
Awww thank you EL, I love how they have all different thoughts about the group and the concept, still in the end they appreciate the music and the girls. This video really can be an eye opener for new fans about MNL48's concept as a whole.
These girls are so amazing huhu. STAN MNL48!!!!!!
Wow! Thank you so much EL's planet for this Reaction Video .
Thank you for gracing us with another MNL48 content. ❤️
Eyy, again thank you so much El.
Thank you El's Planet! more mnl48 content! God bless
"I didn't know that Filipinos have bangs though" wth i'm laughing really hard HAHAHAHA
Hoping to see them react to 365 eroplanong papel mv and akb festival performance video 🤞❤️
Thank you po!
I hope soon MNL48 will popular in their own counrty and get accept also the 48G Concept Thank you for Reacting to their MV's
MNLoves, Maraming Salamat Po!
Have them react to AKB Group Asia Festival if they want to see interactions of 48Gs.
Also make them react to live performances in MYX
iirc, El don't react to live performances. We have already asked about reacting to 365 Acapella in Shanghai but yeah they don't react to Live performances.
@@kris4976 link please
10:32 We called it “BOLANG KANIN” we shout it po with a pride HAHAHAHAHA
yazzz. BOLANG KANIN~
Thank you El's Planet. I love MNL48 since showtime days. Keep fighting MNL48!!
Unfortunately, a lot of Filipinos dont really appreciate MNL48. They are not into JPop vibes. I hope one day, one day.
FINALLYYY~~~ 😊😊😊 Thank u EL's Planet.
Please react their live singing... they are really good vocalists.
You should check out their other performances they have INSANE VOCALS and I am not kidding
Thank ü for reacting :) i hope more videos to react about mnl48 too.
Thank you for another mnl48 content! Sana po mabigyan din nila ng reaction yung ibang MVs ng MNL48 like palusot ko'y maybe and 365ANEP
Thanks El's Planet for this content.
Thank you for giving highlight to MNL48!
Omg the former kpop trainee commentary is on point!!!!!!
mone's comment of combination western & eastern style in high tension. yes, filipinos are a cross between western (spain/american colony) culture and eastern culture. they eat rice and noodles but also like western spanish style food plus most pinoys are catholic which is more a western religion.
I love the way that you make this happen this people react to our idol
Not a fan of AKB neither MNL. No offense but MNL's vocals are way better. Also their dancing skills are more synchronize.. they're worth to support
Recent performances from AKB are also now more synchronized. Might be an advantage of not having huge 30+ member senbatsu and minimal sister group representation
AKB48 are focusing on charms, cuteness, positive vibes while MNL where philippines known for had a many good singers....
Wowwww seriously??
Both vocals are better too 😏.
Finally, I've been waiting for this.
Thumbs up for this Reaction MNL48 💙 Thank you so much MNL48~ Maraming salamat po
I would also like to see them react to mnl48 performing live 🥺🥺🥺💖💖💖💖
Thank you EL's Planet for another reaction
thank you for uploading this video
DISCO!!! Wooh!!!
@@mikepadz1976 Yes!! i think it's really easy! ruclips.net/video/6pNQGVfqKOo/видео.html XD
@@UkeKikomori XD
in koisuru fortune cookie, wotas chant "onigiri"
in pag-ibig fortune cookie, wotas chant "BOLANG KANIN"
13:40 "idols you can meet"
And we are accepting the girls 😉
Please more of this
10:32 we shout "Bolang Kanin" but when all our idiot mind syncs, we shout "BOLANG PISNGI" for MNL48 Sela. HAHA!!
Bolang kanin is more a meme tho, no one actually chants bolang kanin.
Aww i miss that xd
@@toxicmeatballs604 may nag chant na ng bolang kanin somewhere
감사합니다 I really love their reaction.
The reactors' comments are on point! Quality reaction video.
plsss react to 365 Araw Ng Eroplanong Papel, Palusot koy maybe and Gingham Check by MNL48 also
we need more mnl48
When it came to culture or style that a foreign 48 group, i think they can incorporate their own culture into their idol activities especially in pv. For example, for her last single Melody able to incorporate batik indonesia into their seifuku/inssho which is unique to their country. Or their first mv, Heavy Rotation showcase them in indonesian student uniform. I think the management should get creative with how they want to include their culture in those group (especially when it's hard to get an original song for the international sister group)
In Other Country Are Liked MNL 48
But In My Country (Philippines) Are Hated MNL48 Without A Reason
JKT48 has the similar case
Other country very appreciate to JKT48, however just a little bit Indonesians to appreciate JKT48, many Indonesians still don't know about JKT48 after 9 years :'(
JKT48 got more attention about last a year after released Rapsodi as an original single, because this song is related to Indonesian vibes
Not all 🤔 mostly of filipinos love MNL48,
10:32 we say "bolang kanin" which means "rice ball"
Thank you for this we really do appreciate it..
I hope you can also let them watch the acappela version of 360 araw ng eroplanong papel because that is also one of the famous song of AKB48 in Japan. Looking forward for the next reaction for MNL48. God Bless and more power to your channel.

MNL48's MV version of High Tension is allegorical compared to other 48Gs' version where the MVs meaning is obvious.
We need part 2..
Thanks for this! 😊❤
Share the video on Twitter, Facebook and other social platforms to show your support!! 💙
I think u should react to mnl48 acapella version in shanghai their vocals really killed it❤️
High Tension is really that sweet spot of Eastern and Western fusion that Filipinos like. I want them to do another one but not really abandon the cute or pabebe concept so as to give a little dynamic and duality for them.
I wish you could react to MNL48's live vocals during the 48group festa in Shanghai.
I kinda agree to all their opinions.
Thank you for this kuya el. hope maka 100k subs kana😊

Su ma ya w
Unless ure writing it in very traditional baybayin without the cross particle.
But it's still weird

Thanks for reacting to MNL48! 💙

Waiting for this
We complaining this since 1st year of mnl48 ...
Keido looks like he's been doing cosplay 😂 i love how he stares at the camera
the last world sousenkyo, it happened when MNL48 was just about to start hence they are not included in the event but I'm sure they will be included for the next general election. They do have an interaction with their other sister groups haha like AKB48 Asia Festival, and they also interact in their socmeds/ig haha
