The minute I turned my brain off of “slay to win” mode in control this season, I felt a complete 180 in my games. Playing to stay alive, teamshot, and hold map control made a huge difference, and I can already feel it the matchmaking composition. Multiple people friending me just to yell at me for “camping” after they lose, but I’ve been starting to see familiar names in matches, and it’s not those players, so SBMM is working to a degree.
Yeah I the feeling a lot of people are annoyed at SBMM because it’s matched them against players who are better than them because up until now they’ve mostly just played against scrubs which inflated their stats (and egos). As time goes on they’ll either get better or start getting matched against players who genuinely match their skill.

Regarding that line you had about things being "worth it" if you have some fun with something that takes a bit to get the ball rolling really stuck with me as someone who for an embarrassingly long time tried to force that build you had of being an info loop with Bottom Tree Nightstalker and Khepri's Sting. It was a unique enough way to view games on that subclass and felt rewarding when you could get eyes on people and plan your moves accordingly. Sucks how Combat Provision and Heart of Pack didn't transfer over to Void 3.0

Cammy I know the hunter is best at invisibility, but you should really try this on shadebinder. The stasis rift + melee combined with invis is just so cheesy and if you use it with a disruption break gl you can get easy setups for the rat king. Would really love to see you use a build using rat king and shadebinder, truly the rat bastard build. I think invis on warlock/titan is just so unexpected for most players.

We should start documenting, collaborating on the collection of discords that are dedicated to XYZ angles. I've already started one a while ago documenting all the texture, security cameras, pipes, rocks, ropes you can stand on to create unexpected angles. Having another discord dedicated to GL angles would be another amazing resource.

Got my Gyrfalcons Hauberk the other day, just infused a Ratking up to power, the stoke is high! That said, playing Shotgun x Lemon will be disgusting with the Gyrfalcons Perk! Unfortunately the stat roll i got wasn't the best but with a little tinkering I managed to get 100 Mobility, 60-70ish Strength & somewhere around 70 Recovery. The Season Pass Armour looks like it's gunna be a massive help for my Gyrfalcons Build though so I'm happy with that! Plus, with the right Shader? The Pirate Aesthetics are just SPOT on! No reasons why I'd be stoked with that lol.
Have you been using Fighting Lion as of recent? It feels pretty ok now that the nerf has been reworked, and now with infinite ammo, it's super fun in control.
Glad to see you playing rat king. I personally pair it with sixth coyote to have invisibility on maximum uptime. It allows a shitter like me to beat my friends who were good enough to do paid trials carries.
Cammy whats your dodge bind on controller? I got a controller w 4 paddles, each one mapped to one of the face buttons and my dodge is binded to double clicking the right stick. i wanna change it to circle but idk what id put my uncharged melee to
I dont know about your lobbys, but last night, i had a lot of fun running this loadout with a harmony bow, btw harmony+gyrfalcon deals 209(season of the lost bow)
i would love to see a crucible gamemode that doesn't end, has no Skmm, and acts like TF2's casual mode where everyone can duke it out silly or serious.
Re: Your thoughts on sbmm, I much prefer watching competitive matches. Watching Man City stomp Grindleford Rovers 11 in the FA cup fourth round might be entertaining every now and then, but the Champions League final is one of the most viewed events of every year because it’s the best of the best facing off. The fact that it’s close and every player has to play to the best of their abilities is precisely what makes it so enthralling.
In terms of the 1 2 punch shotty, what shotty did you use last season? Wastelander being a lightweight frame might do just little enough damage that you aren't getting the kills anymore
Not sure if you read these Cam, but what build is the easiest to master for end game trials and equally viable. I only really play hunter or warlock. Fairly average pvp player here. I’m going to guess it’s invis hunter build for survivability ?
