Thanks for the refresher it's been15 years since I've done one. Just got the daughter a 2003 kx85 throttle sticking. The needle was bent so I tapped it straight see if she fires up

What pilot you using??
The air fuel mixture screw how many turns out usually? My son got ahold of it and moved it and now i don't know how many turns? Just a basic rule of thumb?
Hello, did you ever end up figuring out how many turns it was? I have the same issue and I can't get it to run right.
I turned it out 2 turns out from all the way in, 1 and 3/8s, 1 and 1/2 and it still bogs down
It should be about 2 turns out depending on riding condition. If the bike is still bogging then you have other issues. Maybe a plugged main or a poorly adjusted needle. Let me know what you find. @jaydenfox5755 start at two turns and monitor your spark plug.
I have a 2003 kx85 mate and it fires and runs but mainly on a bump start bro but then bogs and dies any ideas
Mid Nebraska Motorsports sorry this was when i got it I’ve recently put new top end clean carb better fuel new plug new gear oil and it’s a lot better but not perfect last time out blow head gasket and radiator as it’s running very hot it touches band now but only for short bursts then dies off again but contines to run I did recently notice the engine cases were leaking and the bolts were loose to my standards and I have pinched them up and I’m sure has solved the oil leak but still haven’t run the bike and actually tried after new head gasket now put on but rad is still leaking
Spark plug I would try as well
@@one6media sweet for the reply it was p/v top end and a very thorough carb clean mate ended up killing it in some water I went through sold it and have a ktm85 2004 with Judd racing 150 mate

@Trizzy P Hmp-y hey bud I have a 04 85kx with the 105cc jug. I had messed with the carb last winter an messed both idle an air screws all up I turned them both to about 1.5 turns out an have been messing with it around them settings but can't get it started to save my life. It keeps flooding an my plug keeps getting soaked in fuel. I never actually took apart the carb an cleaned it cause i figured it ran perfectly before I messed with it that's probably not the issue. Should I break it down an clean it? What where the specs you had your air to fuel ratio like the number of turns for both? If you reply I'd greatly appreciate it.
I just bought a new carb oe for my 07kx85 and I can’t get it to stay running found the main jet was a 120 so I put the 135 main in it and still having issues any help
I got a 45 pilot and 142 main air screw 2 turns out in my bike kx85 16 runs good idles good
