@@MysteryXbox Compared to 2, 1 is NOT a masterpiece. It may have been for it's time, but in the presence of a game that exceeded it in every capacity, it falls short now. It has so many flaws, not necessarily its fault because it did really well for the time, but it does. Gameplay, visuals, character development, supporting characters...I owed it to the 2nd to make it through the 1st, but I found nowhere near the same enjoyment as I did in 2. So, is that disrespectful? I see it as an honest and legitimate comparison. If you feel it's disrespectful, you kinda prove the bias I suspect you have.
John and Abigail had a daughter sometime during the 4 year gap between RDR 2 and RDR 1 (1907 - 1911). She died pretty young, so she either had a disease that killed her or she was stillborn. There's an optional conversation between John and Abigail in the RDR 2 epilogue that hints at Abigail being pregnant by the end of the main story of that game.
I wish they got more creative with the stranger missions they couldn’t even give them different animations like Bonnie is always on the porch cleaning her gun

“Vengeance Is An Idiot’s Game.” - Arthur Morgan John should’ve listened. In a way Arthur died for nothing. John shouldn’t have looked for Micah. He was doing fine.
Sadie is the one who let john come and told him about Michael knowing hes trying to settle down and going against Arthur's wish so this all can be put on her.
He didnt die for nothing, john and his family lived peacefully for around 10 years and john became a legend in the wild west and mexico saving many lives and helping many people, he achieved redemption.
He knew they would always find him anyway, or he wouldn't have taken out a bank loan in his government name in Blackwater. Honestly, settling there was just super-dumb.

I just wanna say how glad I am I found your channel, by complete chance as well. I’ve never appreciated a content creator so much, and I’ve only been watching since 2020. I stuck out the entire RDR2 series. And though already having played it myself, I felt like I was going on a whole new adventure again with you, and it’s always so much fun, it even made me return to RDR2 and play it again. Now seeing an old game I hold dear to my heart come to this channel as well, it makes me so happy. Everything you do eases my quarantine boredom that’s for sure. Just keep up the amazing work, and I hope you’re having as much fun as I do during these journeys.

Man I forgot how good this game looks, it's aged so well, and it itself to Red Dead 2 sooooooo much better than I expected. So awesome to relive this game through you!!
From what I hear backwards compatibility on Xbox does have it's own background enhancements so playing it on an Xbone or Series console makes it look better than it would have on 360. It's debatabely the best looking version except for not having 60 fps which is exclusive to PS5 as of now

I'm not even a fan of westerns and I'm convinced this is the best game ever made. When you take into account how old it is and how well it holds up to RDR2 I don't think it can be beat. The first time I left the ranch I crested the plateu overlooking Armadillo just as a lightning storm was blowing in. I just set the controller down for 5 minutes and watched the game do its thing.
That game is so nostalgic, and it's weird since I only played for the first time a year ago, yet the game design makes it feel like I played it in the 2010s, that's how you recognise a masterpiece.
Finally! I waited so long for this video. I love your enthusiasm, your compassion, your excitement, your surprise and your joy. Looking so much forward to you discovering more of this game, discover it, the locations, some old friend or foe and just have a good time. You honestly don't know how much this video made my day. I just fairly recently discovered your channel in a reaction to Arthurs death video and then watched all of your RDR2 videos and was so much hoping for this video here to happen! So, have fun, keep your eyes and ears open for some known locations, facts and characters, there's so much to discover. And, just sayin', theres so much to discover in RDR2 again after you finished this game, so much foreshadowing, so many reminiscences and stuff, for example a letter by Bonnie, to be found on the shore shortly before Van Horn approaching from the south... Sorry for the long rant, just wanted to say how much I love you and your videos and I am looking so much forward to the next RDR episode! :)
I don’t know why, but I really love that cutscene where Marston and the Marshall meet for the first time. And I really love that you’re loving this game tofu!
That is indeed the same place you were with Sadie in the epilogue of RDR2. That gang riding through the ranch was a random event, you can ignore it or if good enough with your guns can shoot them all down for a fame and honor boost (and bodies to loot). RB will act as the brakes on your horse so you aren't running around in circles trying to stop. The blue bar on the left side of the minimap is the horse stamina bar, keep it from going completely empty, don't hammer it. Holding A will match your speed with anyone you are riding with. In one random event, a treasure hunter will need saving and if you do so he will give you a map for treasure (a gold bar), the first of which will lead you to Hanging Rock near Armadillo and the next map will be inside that lockbox as well. You can sell them for a nice lump of cash if you wish, or keep them. When your honor gets high enough you will unlock the duster coat, I prefer it over the standard cowboy outfit. The Deadly Assassin outfit will double your dead eye if I remember correctly and expert hunter will give you X2 provisions from skinned animals. I didn't know you were going to be doing RDR1 but glad you are, and looking forward to watching you progress. There is a character in this called Nastas, a native American, but you won't meet him for a while yet, but I think you'll like him, he reminds me of a mix of Charles and Rains Fall. You may even want to just ride the train around to take in the scenery, even after these years it is still beautiful. There are legendary animals to be found in this game, but you have to be at a certain point in the master hunter challenge for them to spawn, but I wouldn't worry too much about them for now. Hope you find any of this useful! :D Edit- Mighty generous :)
So happy shes playing it. It really is in many ways not as "developed" as the second game but damn the story is a wonderful ride. Love when people play the second game frst.
Bonnie was the original Sadie, to be honest. Also, keep in mind RDR2’s plot and characters didn’t exist when this was made, and was built around what this game set up and gestured at, so some things may not always fit perfectly and several key characters will never be referenced.
@@batoptimus I know......lol. I meant that she was to original RDR players what Sadie was to people who played RDR2 first. Tough, hard-as-nails cowgirl who could throw down and didn't take shit, and had an affectionate friendship with the protagonist.

Cant wait to see you recognize some of the characters from the second one. Sadly you wont see sadie because she mentions going to south America to live the rest of her life and Charles went to Canada.
Some hints. Keep an eye out on your horse's stamina. Do what u can to earn money. Buy medicine, horse pills and chewing tobacco. And save up for the "good horse". Easier to control and stamina lasts longer. Hunt alot. Skin them and sell them at the store. If you're riding around and u hear someone asks for help, 50/50 they're honest, or its a trap. Do stranger missions and bounty hunts. Pick the flowers that show up on the map. You can't pet the dogs but if there are any around when you whistle for your horse, they will get near you. I'll write more as I see your playthrough! Hope you read them and they help!
Dont know if you noticed buut his main outfit for this game is the one he wore after he decided to buy the ranch when Abigail left in the epilog. The vest is the gift she bought him in strawberry. So him putting it on before his ride out of the ranch is all dramatic looking cause its his iconic look ^-^

@@nayten0324 Other than John, most of the characters are so...flat in comparison to the great work in 2. The setting is also a dull palette.
@@user-jt1js5mr3f don’t get me wrong I understand 2 is a much better game but I still prefer the first. The characters are very flat compared to 2 and the setting is nothing compared to 2 again but I think it’s the memories that dictate my opinion lol. Had I played 2 first I would have 100% preferred it to the first but I have so many great memories with the first and I actually prefer the atmosphere somehow , the music when you’re in tall trees or the when you’re riding around in Mexico. It’s definitely some bias talking though
Is there a video of it on youtube?
Of course Tofu did notice the chemistry between John and Bonnie x)
Bonnie actually has her own stranger mission in Rdr2 online!
I wish they got more creative with the stranger missions they couldn’t even give them different animations like Bonnie is always on the porch cleaning her gun
yes in rdr2 bonnie is 15 and the damn barn is missing (her pa built it when she was a little girl)
The emotional trauma continues
Seems like you'd make a fantastic cowboy, stealing knitted sweaters and all
I saw the Arthur Morgan tribute video when it was uploaded. It was really nice and I recommend it to others who haven't seen it yet. I love RDR. I remember UC 1,2 and this game were the first games I played on my PS3 back in the day.
22:41 i say the same thing when i saw sadie in the trailer of red dead redemtion 2 ." I Hope it's mcfarlane"
“Vengeance Is An Idiot’s Game.”
- Arthur Morgan
John should’ve listened. In a way Arthur died for nothing. John shouldn’t have looked for Micah. He was doing fine.
The would have found him anyway, it would just have taken a longer time before they did.
Sadie is the one who let john come and told him about Michael knowing hes trying to settle down and going against Arthur's wish so this all can be put on her.
Yeah if the Pinkertons got to micah he would have done johns work and get shot by them
He didnt die for nothing, john and his family lived peacefully for around 10 years and john became a legend in the wild west and mexico saving many lives and helping many people, he achieved redemption.
He knew they would always find him anyway, or he wouldn't have taken out a bank loan in his government name in Blackwater. Honestly, settling there was just super-dumb.
i really appreciate you putting the hours of footage and editing you had to do in the description; just shows everyone how much work you have to put into these videos and to be grateful! thank you for entertaining us tofu :)
Mighty generous of you to treat us with this new series, Tofu. So. Damn. Excited.
After John killed Micah, The Pinkerton’s have finally caught up with John and are making him do bounty work trying to hunt down his old gang.
I suggest doing every mission, even the side missions. This game is a masterpiece in my opinion
in the nicest way possible, watching the west dickens missions was honestly so frustrating the way she didn’t read the pop ups telling her not to drive on the grass
Shes really bad at playing. Doesn't use dead eye either. But she's invested in the story
I just love whenever you start a new series. Seeing all the hiccups and mistakes you make as you explore the game mechanincs, as you try to get accustomed to the controls, seeing as you explore the world and the characterts, etc. This is gonna be a fun series. I can't wait to see more
Loved this! So nice to be back in the Red Dead world, and to see you experience this for the first time. I’m so happy you are enjoying it!
You are Mighty Generous to let us accompany you on this journey 😜
There’s something of an art form to riding in Red Dead Redemption 1.
Omergerd! She's back and already bringing chaos to New Austin lol great to have you back in the wild west, Tori.
You honestly made the best RDR2 reaction vids. Completely aware of character growth and the story. Glad you're starting RD1. Look forward to these vids.
YES!! Ive been waiting for this. I hope yo do all the side missions too.Jenny has her own side mission
Jenny? Wym? That girl they mention at the beginning of rdr2? Who's supposed to be dead?
Oh shit nvm I forgot ab that girl in the beginning of this game lol
I've just had a long week of uni finals and I was so excited to see this video that my breath hitched while I was so busy smiling. Just wanted to say how much your content means to me and others, Tofu!
Watching Ross and Archer walk John to the train in BlackWater, the two gossips, watching Bonnie move around the car, so many good memories!
Tofu : Why is she being so kind to us *immediately questions* Is she evil?
and that's a sign of an experienced person👍
Man I forgot how good this game looks, it's aged so well, and it itself to Red Dead 2 sooooooo much better than I expected. So awesome to relive this game through you!!
From what I hear backwards compatibility on Xbox does have it's own background enhancements so playing it on an Xbone or Series console makes it look better than it would have on 360. It's debatabely the best looking version except for not having 60 fps which is exclusive to PS5 as of now
Its been 11 years and it still looks beautiful
I am also quite impressed with how this game looks, especially the lighting and the horses. It looks like it has aged quite well.
Seriously, your videos really make me smile and happy to see your first time exp these games. Always great to see your positive energy, your reactions, all of you ! And when it be over I be a little selfish and want more lol
Keep doing your thang! Much much luv!!!
Queen Tofu In all my years of playing video games I never got attached to a character and cried, Until Arthur. I flipping bawled. And then I watched the end of Ch 6 with you playing and cried with you.And then your tribute and I cried again. Great tribute !!! I think I’m done crying for a while 😊
“Mighty generous” 😉😉😉😉
Actually love watching you learn how the different mechanics work. Those moments of discovery really are a treat to see
One thing I'll miss about RDR2 is the "family" dynamic in the gang. It's so sad to see it break apart
The guys at the beginning were the guys who find it drawn in the little scenes of the credits in red dead, two via I would just say apprentice of a angst miltion, but he died so now agent, Rossi charger, Pinkerton, detective agency
Once more into the west we go, with queen tofu on the reins to finish this tale of cowboys, love and revenge.
I’m so happy to see you play this game! Honestly whenever I try to watch other people play this game, it just isn’t as entertaining as when I’ve watched you play it!! Keep up the good work Tofu!!
This play through will be interesting because Tofu started from RDR2 so to her, RDR will truly be the sequel game chronologically.
Love that you're playing this, your Arthur Morgan tribute was so good.
literally just finished your RDR2 series.... this couldn't have dropped at a better time 😊😊
I'm not even a fan of westerns and I'm convinced this is the best game ever made.
51:25 Is that a JACKALOPE!!! I've only seen a few in my hundreds of hours playing
I’m a simple man - I see Tori and Red Dead Redemption, instant like. I haven’t even watched the video yet! 😂
“This is a fine weapon” turns out to be the worst gun in the game XD
I don’t know why, but I really love that cutscene where Marston and the Marshall meet for the first time. And I really love that you’re loving this game tofu!
The journey with John Marston and Tofu begins now LFG
Edit- Mighty generous :)
So happy shes playing it. It really is in many ways not as "developed" as the second game but damn the story is a wonderful ride. Love when people play the second game frst.
I laughed too many times at the “FAT JAKE PAUL” , the accuracy 😩
I've never been more happy to know really know what Jake Paul looks like.
Bonnie was the original Sadie, to be honest. Also, keep in mind RDR2’s plot and characters didn’t exist when this was made, and was built around what this game set up and gestured at, so some things may not always fit perfectly and several key characters will never be referenced.
She’s not original Sadie. On Red Dead Redemption fandom, Bonnie appears in RDR2 online and RDR1 and Sadie just appears in RDR2 and RDR2 online
@@batoptimus I know......lol. I meant that she was to original RDR players what Sadie was to people who played RDR2 first. Tough, hard-as-nails cowgirl who could throw down and didn't take shit, and had an affectionate friendship with the protagonist.
I would say Annie Stoakes was the original Sadie from Red Dead Revolver
@@CaptainAmercia You could say that, too. I'd argue Revolver and Redemption are separate entities, though spiritually related, so I didn't think of that. But you're not wrong.
best feeling is to wake up on a Tuesday morning to this in my sub-box.
EDIT: the tribute video btw was beautiful and well-put together. I cried one too many times :)
PS: 1:09:30 your glove is triggering my trypophobia lol
Cant wait to see you recognize some of the characters from the second one. Sadly you wont see sadie because she mentions going to south America to live the rest of her life and Charles went to Canada.
Great episode! I caught a Wilhelm scream around 2:04:45 . It's details like this that I love about Rockstar's games.
She’s not ready for the rest of the game lmao.
She's totally not.
I find it very interesting when someone plays RDR2 for the first time and RDR1 second. You’re in for a hell of a story.
Tofu: ''ill stop aksing questions...''
*Proceeds to ask 5 questions
I'm so happy and exited that you finally get to play this game! Looking forward to watching you falling off cliffs and your horse :D
Please tell me your going to do a playthrough of Undead Nightmare once you finish the main story?
John Marston. The rock farmer
I've been waiting so long!!!
Super pumped for this playthrough, glad to see you back in Yee-haw Land, Tofu!
I was waiting for a long time for this!! This is going to be a great series
“That’s a fat Jake Paul” I’m dead 🤣💀
Bro the rdr2 series was Amazing i can tell this is going to be good
Mighty generous of you to assume that people would still be here! Love this game. Do the side missions, some are quite fun.
Ross and Fordmen find John in the Rdr2 Epilogue and have been watching John.
1:05:46 American Venom, the theme where John goes after Micah, is a remix of this theme
1:04:12 Is this the same place where Sadie and John go after James Langton during the epilogue ?
Lmao at you falling off the cliff! Girl, you are a riot! 😂 Amazing video, as always, Tori! 😏
“Mighty generous”
I finally finished the whole episode! I honestly laughed hard at the horse parts 😂, it wouldn’t be a western if you didn’t ran over someone or get bucked off your horse or even fell of a hill and get your horse killed. But overall, it was a fun and hilarious episode. I had a chaotic blast watching this lmao. Anyways, welcome back to this universe, Tofu (or tori) 🙋🏻♂️
Actually you can find Bonnie's Ranch in the Epilogue of Rdr2 it's even marked on the map
So happy to see this playthrough! As someone that played RDR2 and didn't get to play RDR1 I can totally relate. (I did know the story beforehand so watching experiences it for the first time after playing the second game is an interesting twist).
When you remember West Dickens is played by Mr. Sweeny from Ned's Classified 😂
MIGHTY GENEROUS of you to include an end-credit scene there, ma'am.
