There are a lot of interpertations for this song, and I don't know the actual meaning from Inabakumori themself but here's my personal interpertation of it: The "Drowning" here is depression, and the rain is the bits of sadness/hopelessness she feels. And the umbrella is the coping mechanism, whether positive or self destructive. Its like about wanting to be oblivious to the horrbile things that are happenning, but it just gets more and more unbearable, clinging on to that nonexistent hope that she can't see, knowing it'll slip one day But she's just hoping she could let go of all that and be happy for once, without any consequences- wait, noo that's too hopeful for a vocaloid song. She hopes she can one day just end it all.
This is giving the stress to be perfect and doing 10-30 assignments at night and getting up early to study. This song is the kind of anxiousness I felt.
maybe the plot could be, "Life is given through a loop of people passing down the card that god has made down to their children and them passing the card to theirs. But one day, the loop stops. Its up to the mc ,Kuruso, to retrieve the card and restore life.

So I've finished listening to this song and Got some meanings and I understand what the song tells ((a little of it))and I'm not sure if I'm right.
So this girl is like having a heavy package of feelings and emotions that she feels inside and the umbrella she holds is her shield to protect herself from bursting from crying, Because the rain would trigger her emotions to be let out once she got wet by it. Like, she's trying to not believe the truth that she's not feeling well so she would just ignore it.
And at the lyrics said that her hands are always wet from holding the umbrella and the fear of letting it go or losing it is like the time where she can't hold into it anymore, the shield (umbrella) she's holding is slowly slipping off her hands and the rain (truth) would pour on her as her breathing would stop which would make her cry. And another thing about is that she mentioned that she wants to let go or release this feelings out but she can't because she might drown and might not survive it. and about the dry blooming flower, it symbolizes like not letting go of the emotions she's having, without the tears/water or rain, the flower will not grow and stay dry or will die.
