Stunning!! So beautiful and what a great homage to the beauty of the Byzantine era. Thank you!
Thanks SO much!!! I studied Byzantine Icon Painting and I am a traditional gilder. That was definitely my inspiration.

Beautiful work. Thanks for the tutorial
Than you!!!!
Very unique! Great idea and beautiful effect :). Did you keep your palette at your normal working temp or a wee bit cooler?
The usual 200 degrees for this demo. ☺️
Great video Leslie! Wonderful.
Thank you, Christine. Hope to see you soon!!!!
Love it.
Thanks so much 🤗
Thanks,Ann. I am SO new to this. I hope to make more. Hopefully, is will jumpstart some in-studio experiments. 👍👍👍
A treat for sore eyes!
Oh it’s marcia Leslie❗️
What type of varnish do you use? It's a question, thank you for your video and your answer. 😇🥰
No varnish. Just shiny paint. Encaustic does not need varnish. You can buff it to a shine with a soft cloth after it hardens. 😊

lovely effect- you do not heat the encaustic paints? do you seal them?
I am working directly on a heated palette which creates constant fusing. No need to seal.
