MORNIN RICK ! THE BOOMER ( SRY ) BOX CAR IS BEAUTIFUL IT'S A EXTREMELY WEATHERED BOX CAR I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF REAL ROLLING STOCK DIRTY LIKE THIS SO DIRTY YOU CAN'T TELL THE REPORTING MARKS ! ALSO LOCOMOTIVES GET THAT DIRTY AND MORE ! REMEMBER S P ? IN OTHER WORDS , THE BOX CAR IS A FINE EXAMPLE OF WEATHERING ! 😎
Hi Rick! Happy Friday my friend! Great video! I like yard classification videos!!
That Boomer box car is great! It’s dirty to the point you can’t see it’s reporting information!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks! You too!
Yardmaster on duty again 😊
Well done 👍🏻

Greatings from city off leiden in the netherlands
Always nice to start your “story” with the hauler dropping off a train!
I grew up near a small SP yard back in the 70’s and the yard was a busy place! While a SW1500 is busy classifying a train, another
train would arrive and drop of some cars, and later a whole train would be dropped off and the loco would pick up that train the switcher just put together. This would go on through the day and sometimes in the wee hours of the night as I remember hearing distantly the activities there pass midnight! This is how I will run my railroad as I love yard switching! The yard will be a happening place!!
I appreciate all of your vids....sw s are coming soon rite .
I run my small layout in a similar way, it has improved since I added some off layout storage (had to tunnel through into the kitchen!). I use dice, but use them to select which industries get cars and then I pick suitable cars from the yard.
Cold? I'm not sure how close you are to Indian Wells Rick but it looks quite comfortable for the tennis tournament right now.
Always loving your Ops sessions!
Awesome job! Yes, once you get a yard on your layout, that's where you'll spend the majority of your time.
Definitely!
I hear a bad wheelset in there somewhere. You better get it caught on the hotbox detector or you're going to have to be modeling the NS soon🤔🤔
Curious, I ran the post below through a translator. Some alleged chick scamming for money. Otherwise, First! Rick, the best thing about Friday is, there's only three more days until Monday! As always, I enjoy your videos!
Thanks again. And, yes I did see the spam post, it's been removed.
Very very nice!!
Thank you very much!
Great video
Thanks!
awesome as ever man im currently doing the same on my layout!
Cool!
Another Awesome video! How would you suggest the best way to go about building up my freight car inventory? Any suggestions are welcome! Your locos and rolling stock look great!
It depends on the types of industries on the layout. Most will get boxcars and hoppers and then the lumber will have center beam and flat cars. And of course it's always fun to have someplace that takes tank cars. I just make sure I have enough for each of the industries to have like double the cars. So they are always being rotated with the local train.
Where did you get your controller? Is it better then power cab
I like it b/c its simple to use and a bit more modern feeling. Thou a little delicate. I bought it a yankee dabbler. yankeedabbler.com/esu-50310-cab-control-dcc-wireless-system-includes-wifi-mobile-control-cab-all-scale/
If you are going to speed match your locals, why not make a video of it?
