After first listen, Rain was my favorite. And then THIS lovely song quickly overtook the top spot as the listens went up. Now this one gives me goosies like four times lmao I adore this song and I so so hope they play it when I see them later this year.
This here, easily my favorite now. Building up a chorus across a song like that is something I've always loved and they pull it off *really* well. It's something they do frequently on the album, but this one right here is IT. All the callbacks to other parts of this album and the others, I friggin looove that. And the lyrics on this one are so, so good. "My my, those eyes like fire, I'm a winged insect, you're a funeral pyre" is incredible imagery.
Actually, for Sleep Token I think a visualizer is better for what they want from these albums over music videos. If these songs are tokens of worship to the god of Sleep, then having a clear-cut video doesnt make sense, cause dreams are blurry (even if at the moment you think it's sharply focused) and vague, so leaving just one visual piece like the DnD-style visualizers we have is a more in-lore and in-style way of showcasing the tracks. Plus, if there was a track to get a vid, if this one had one, you'd need to do vids for each of the songs referenced to also have a visual reference to call back to.
Fun fact: the vocal melody that kicks in at 5:48, that begins when he goes “I don’t know what’s got it’s teeth in me”? Try humming that whole verse. It’s going to sound very familiar 😉
@@halowars2253 no worries! When you hum the whole thing, it sounds just like the intro to Dark Signs. Try it, hum the bit from “I don’t know” to “glory of innocence” and compare it to that tune at the start of Dark Signs. It continues through to the Chokehold bit.
To be honest I don’t think their record label or management have done enough work for the production of a music video BUT… considering it might depend entirely on the ST Crew ‘s decision to continue with the telling of the whole story it may still be in progress. Who knows… Worship
That "chokehold" callback between 7:01 and 7:25 !!!!
I recognized it immediately! Had to listen a second time. Very cool callback.
That ending breakdown is absolute filth. Balanced the song out for me imo
Hell yeah, it was bold! I'm glad they decided to end it like that.
“I think we’re gonna go in a journey”
*gets journeyed like a mf

That's what I'm saying with some of these longer ones! I really hope they make room for them

This one had to grow on me a bit, but holy shit - I'm IN it, now.
Same! I didn't hear all the call backs at first but man, this is the ONE

Another Easter egg 😎
I may just be tired but I'm not picking this one up

I mean, this music is so damn good, it doesn't need a video BUT... I CANT HELP BUT IMAGINE HOW GOOD IT WOULD BE haha
i get real enjoyment watching people enjoy sleep token too
am i broken or is it supposed to be like this?😅
Have figured out that there are lyrics from chokehold in this song yet?
next album will be techno infused 😂
Most songs even from Sundowning already has techno elements?
@@ninertactics true that, but I'm talking about 140bpm + hard techno lol I wouldn't be surprised 😂
