Sinanju never gets old, Great Build!! You did a tricky version of Candy paint but pulled it off great! For the yellow, use the same yellow clear but do your Chrome in the middle with a duller silver or even gold on the edges. You'll have to experiment with the silvers as you want a dull silver not a shiney one.
Hahaha. Thanks. That was another thing I wanted to put in the videos when I was planning my channel - "Normal" looking work bench. Not a sterile work environment made specifically for videos. More organic :)
@@buildingcoolstuff5634 I do appreciate the way more down to earth approach, good choice! Because the paintbooth and compressor takes up 80% of my hobby desk, I do the building in front of my PC so this all feels way more familiar! Alright sir, you earned yourself a sub with your unique approach! And also with the quality of your paintjobs, I really like the weathering you did on the zaku and graze! Inspiring!
Just for opinion, I go with two or three thin coats of clear colors over the shiny silver surface instead of one thick coat. I build the candy along the way of the several layers. For good results. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I see this is an older video, but brown base, then orange, then yellow will preshade your yellow parts for you. Edit: if you're going to use a clear yellow to get a "gold" effect, just use brown primer instead of black before spraying your chrome. Haven't done it, but I can visualize the process and see it working.
Depends on the effect you want. You can pre-shade with a bit of red and if you cover it with enough yellow it will come out as a yellow-orange effect that I particularly like.
I'm about to start airbrushing my gunpla and I learned so much from this video. Gorgeous builds too! Question, how long do you wait between paints, like going from primer -> base cost -> clear coat? And how much do you think your paints and how many coats do you do each paint?
Hey there. I'm very glad you find my videos useful. Makes me wanna make more. So, thank you! I usually wait a day or more between coats. But that's more because of my life's rhythm. If I'm more eager to paint, I'll do the primer, wait an hour or two, and procede with the preshading, or something like that. Technically, you can do this kind of fine shading as soon as the surface is safe to touch, as long as you're not covering the whole surface with thick coats of paint. Since paint releases gasses while drying, you want to make sure you're not sealing it completely. As for the multiple coats - it's usually one coat. Except for the clear coats. And yellows. I do multiple coats when I want to make sure I have the right color saturation (yellows can be finicky). But this one coat that I do, I keep spraying until I have the desired look. Making sure I spray carefully, to avoid pooling. I hope thos helps 🫡
A lot of blacks are whats called chomatic black this is mostly ultamarine blue(yes its actually called that) and burnt umber. Yellow and blue makes green...look for a black that is carbon black..with no indego in it, yes they do that too.
When mixing primer, I use 40ml (a whole bottle) of primer, and mix it with 60ml of thinner. For the colors, I mix 1:1. Shake the color thoroughly. Pour the contents into a mixing bottle. Then refill the original (glass) bottle with the thinner. Shake it again so that it dissolve all the remaining paint. And add that into the mixing bottle. Shake. and use in the airbrush. When working on a model like this, I usually finish a painting batch and leave it until tomorrow. Especially if you have multiple layers. So, around 24hrs. This is mainly due to my own rhythm. It suits me better like this.
What suppose to be white colour in Mr Clear Color type? I want to reduce tone for primary colour. Only have Clear Silver GX110 and Super Clear 3 GX100. Can u help me with this? I need ratio 20% red, 10% purple and 70% white in clear paint type. Confuse to choose, which is u consider as white in Mr Clear Color? Thank you
This is not an easy question since I don't really have much experience with it. I've looked it up and there is no explanation anywhere. So, if I were you, I'd try with that silver... Although it makes no sense:( The other thing that comes to my mind is the bottom layer. Every time I did candy coat, I sprayed black primer. Then glossy black. Chrome. Then the clear coat. I'm thinking if your chrome layer is applied on a grey base (instead of the glossy black), it might affect the top layer of clear coat in a desired way, making the color more pale. Do test it out on the plastic spoons first. This is completely new to me... And, good luck.
Ya very hard to get information anywhere abt clear colour mixing up. Or maybe ill try mix clear smooth lll and a bit white pearl, to make a clear white. Thank you for your time, help me very much in the process. Now i know about the base colour information. Good video and information btw, keep going on, keep it up!
Hi. I never did this. I've seen that some modelers do. To make the paint "stick" better to the plastic. I think it's more important for the resin models. I never had any problems with the paint coming off.

Finally, nice to see someone with a desk as clean and well organized as mine!
Nicely built, like the final effekt!

Thanks for that pre shading technique you shared
Instead of chrome paint, you can use gold. And have warmer red finish. Or combine - come parts of the armour with chrome and some with gold...

for yellow i recommend preshading with brown… pink primer 👍🏼😉

Fantastic video! Hope you keep making this kind of content, it’s both informative and super relaxing.
Awesome!!
Amigo! So happy to find you here 😎🤟🏽
How did you find me actually?
I usually pre shade yellow with orange...you should try
Nice build
Great work! Thinking to do this with a real grade Sinanju...
I'm sure it would look even better. Just need to go veeery slow with preshaping since the parts are so small... Good luck!

Bravo Brate!!
Very late, but tip from the miniature tabletop mini community: yellow/gold tends to benefit from a *pink* prime.

Amazing 🤩👏
what is the ratio for paint and thinner ? how long is the curing for each process?

preshade yellow by starting with ocre basecoat, then reddish orange pre shade, then a bright top coat

Hello do you sand the parts before painting or leave it as is?
