At last someone plays a backpacker in the right position! The tone from picking the string close to the fret board is completely different to that you get from picking near or below the sound hole. If you want a banjo sound pick near the bridge. Great playing!!
Just got a backpacker from a guy on Craigslist for $120. String with light steel strings and action adjusted buy a Lutier (guess he read the incorrect inner label and disregarded the bridge style), but by the bridge it’s a classic. lucky as a Nylon string guitar and learning classical was my goal. Put a $20 set of Savarez Alliance Corum 500 AJ high tensions on it. And it sings like nothing else sounds heavenly. Also your tip to play near the neck. Holy shit no wonder people hate this guitar for the sound and think it’s crap they are playing right over the hole or lower. Painful looking back at reviews going I’m a beginner but I tested that myself up and down towards the bridge and it makes a huge difference. Anyway I stole this thing put the right strings on it and I just can’t put it down! Lots to learn and I am stoked, will be fun to learn on this and then get a full sized classical guitar and blow myself out the water.
Really nice playing. You make the Martin sound really good. Could you please tell me where I can get the tab/sheet music for this? Is if from a book? Thanks!

I had a backpacker long ago..Love the chunky neck. But I wish I could play like this. Very nice.
Thank you for your kind comment.
演奏も音色もステキでした。バックパッカー、私も愛用しています。
コメント、ありがとうございます。最近は先日買ったCordoba Mini II FMHばかり弾いてます。^^;
That's really good. I've heard nothing but bad reviews on the backpacker sounds good to me 🇮🇪🍀✌️
Thank you very much!
The model being played is nylon strung. A lot of the reviewers of the acoustic (steel strung) model complain about a thin, banjo-like sound.
Absolutely amazing!
Thank you!
Nice playing on very interesting getBox. Do more please.
Outstanding!

Nylon strings or metal strings ? Thank you .
This is a nylon strings type backpacker.
Is it the Martin with nylon strings?
Yes
What kind of strings are you using?
I usually use Pro-Arte (D'Addario) Normal or Light-tension nylon strings.
