Just want to give a "woohoo" for all Homeschool parents. I homeschooled for 10 years and I look back fondly at those years. Both kids are adults with Masters Degrees and I am so glad that I had extra time with them because we homeschooled. It is worth it!
Thanks so much Kim! It sounds like you did an amazing job homeschooling your kids and I appreciate your support of me and all of the other homeschoolers out there! Thank you!
Essentials in Writing is a grammar and writing program where they watch a dvd that teaches then and then do a worksheet. I love it and so does my 2nd grader!
I love this! Definitely have to get that book now. I'm learning patience is especially key days I stay more positive it's an easy day. Especially when it comes to questions, I swear I answer and repeat the same things over and over again, but I've learned to just stay positive. Preschool, 3rd, and 5th grade homeschooling mom here. 🤗
It's awesome to teach kids how to be self learners! That skill will help them throughout their schooling and life. Try to make sure you don't let your girls hear you say you're terrible at math. They may take on that attitude and it can inhibit their motivation and confidence in math. Just my opinion 🙂 I love your videos and think you should give yourself more credit for how smart you are!!
Thank you so much for the tips on homeschooling, they are very helpful! I have found that I need to be flexible too! All of that is so true! Thank you!
I totally agree about having a subject you don't have to teach. This year I found Drive Thru History by focus on the family. It looks great and something they can just watch! :)
I received last night the home learning year by year book! So far a big thumbs up! 👍🏼 I am so thankful I saw this video and this book gives me a bit of relief because one of my concerns was how do I know I’m keeping them on track year by year! Looking forward to using this!
Could you do a video about why you chose to homeschool? And explaining the benefits you hope to achieve from homeschooling? I know people do it for a multitude of different reasons and was always curious why you chose to. Thank you!
I have a very old (and quite embarrassing) video that I did a long time ago about why we homeschool if you want to check that out: ruclips.net/video/HFz62DZi5m8/видео.html Just don't laugh at me too hard when you see it! lol
I would love to hear examples of how you personally decide when to call it quits with a curriculum that just isn't working for you or when to maybe try to adapt or tweak it to better suit your needs.
Hey I am black and a single parent I let the out negative energy get the best of me my community questioned my girls which is 10 9 8 2 let's see how smart you are ? I pulled my kids out Chicago public school. Pray for my home schooling then I feel bad because my kids are behind like my daughter in 4 grade however she on a school grade level so do I guess I suppose to get the grade level she own or do I get what level she really on and let her work her self up
I used to plan a week or two in advance but now I don’t lesson plan at all really. We follow the book lesson-by-lesson and I might make notes of things to cover or special activities but other than that, I don’t plan. It saves me so much time and stress from always feeling “behind.”
We live in Kentucky. You have to notify the state every year that you intend to homeschool. In our state, you can choose whatever curriculum you want, even for high school. There are some online public school options that are through the state but you don't have to choose to do those if you'd rather pick your own curriculum.
Yep! :) I had a dolphin one that made dolphin noises when you clicked it (which my teachers loved lol) a toaster one with the little toast that popped up and down when you clicked it and lots of other really neat ones.

Thank you very much! You're right, I might not be good at math but I am good at lots of other things. :)

Oh yes, it makes a huge difference! I've never heard of that but I'll have to look into it. Thanks!

It's a great book, isn't it? I don't follow it exactly but it's a very thorough reference to have!

That's a great idea! I'll put that on my list of videos to make. :)
You had me at pen!! I love it. I like this idea about the 1 subject. I am exhausted!
Pens are the best! Recently I've gotten into the scented Mr. Sketch markers. I love them for grading and pretty much everything else, too! :)
I did the same thing with my gel pens 😂😂
I am a pen collector as well.
I love these tips!!! They are so perfect!!
Thanks Gwen! :)
I have a set of staedtler pens that I love!! I only have a set of 10 though, so I want to buy a bigger set with all the colours! 😄
Pens are amazing, aren't they? They are just so fun and make everything more interesting!

Loretta Taylor praying for you!
I want to order those pens! I love pens too! ✍🏻
Isn't it funny how much of a difference cute pens make?
How far in advance did you or do you lesson plan especially when you first began??

What program did you use for math? I didn't catch it when you mentioned in the video
Grace Obe She said teaching textbooks.
I'm sorry, I said Teaching Textbooks. I talk too fast sometimes. :)
In what state do you live in? Do you have to go thru the school district to homeschool?

Ohhhh god >.< one of the biggest reasons I hated public school AUDIO BOOKS. I know other people enjoyed it though
U are my favorite youtube
Awww, that's so sweet! Thank you very much!

What is that free downloading website that you mentioned by that parent? I need all the help I can get.
I can't remember what I said. Do you mean the download for the grade keeping?
Can you tell what the app is called for grades, etc?
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/-bckN5crPMc/видео.html
What curriculum did you change?
I am re-working writing and grammar. You'll probably hear more about that when I do our daily schedule video later on in the fall.
Rare pens??!!!!!! LOLOLOL11
