12:24 My thoughts exactly! This would be a great progression for skate shoes. You all at Braille should definitely try to pull this off. It would be a game changer.
The timing of this video release is so crazy. I've been wearing the Xero Prios for a few years now. Definitely the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, and they are unlike anything else. Got back on a skateboard last week after a 20 year hiatus. Tried the Prios just testing a new board in my basement, and it felt incredible. It's hard to go back to other shoes after these. I completely agree that they need to make a dedicated skate shoe with more robust outsole/toe to handle the wear and tear of grip tape.
the only other actual skate shoe with a similar wide toebox are the Fallen Tony Cervantes Vulc, deff give those a look as well. the idea of barefoot shoe would be to strengthen your feet but insoles are not a bad idea. remember our feet have 26 bones, 29 muscles, and over 100 ligaments and thousands of nerve endings. these things are designed to withstand a lot, through the proper conditioning.
I like Xero shoes, bought a pair for disc golf. But I'm already sold on the barefoot movement; it's the only type of shoes I wear now and no more daily achy feet as a result. Great skate video as always, love your content.
Ive been wearing barefoot shoes for years now and regular skate shoes are so uncomfortable. A dedicated barefoot shape skate shoe would be amazing! I think the shape of these with just a little more cushioning than a regular barefoot shoe and an upper suitable for ollies and flip tricks. Please make it happen 🙏
@@Erroct1nope. I have flat feet and I’m still stuck wearing shoes that don’t fit. Now I have chronic foot pain and insoles don’t help. I just need a properly shaped shoe but it doesn’t exist
@@Legend_of_Rick_G ahhh, the Kelso, that's what I'm skating, not the Alston like I said in my above comment... yeah the Kelso, the court shoe, the Alston is the dress shoe, I get the names confused sometimes lol... I have wondered about the 360 and if it's durable or if it would also need Tuff Toe, the 360 is much more expensive than the Kelso and if both need the Tuff Toe then I'll stick with the Kelso, I like that white colorway on the Kelso.
@Legend of Rick G hey I have skated the terraflex which is like prio but a worse outsole... was wondering what fp insole you use... also i think just using shoe goe on the first day you get the shoe is better then tuff toe..
From what I know, and my own experience, it takes a bit for your feet to spread and 're-muscle'. But I've been in the barefoot shoes for two years. It's awesome because I have a lot more control of my balance and how I move.
Xero shoes are my number 1 brand. All I wear is barefoot shoes, and Xero dominates my collection. I have a pair of the Kelso that I used Tuff Toe on the flick areas to reinforce, those are my skate shoes.. and yes the flat FP insoles (size 15 cut to fit the shape of the 10.5 Xero insole) are the best insoles in barefoot shoes, well, best insoles period! I can buy a size larger than I need, and stretch any skate shoe and they always hurt my hips, knees, feet, back... all places that don't hurt when i wear barefoot shoes. I was planning on sending you guys a pair of these some day, but someone beat me to it! Lol... hey, talk about board feel!
hey are you using the fp flat kingfoam elite or kingfoam elite pro insoles? i have been skating leftover terraflex from hiking and just was thinking id get the kelso. i actually really want one that has a non moving tongue you can slip on like the Zelen , or the forza trainer/runner.. would be similar to nyjas but wide toe..
@@yesodkhabbal2643 I use the kingfoam elite zero drop, they're 4 or 5mm (maybe even 6mm) thick if I remember correctly. I use them in all of my barefoot shoes whether I'm skating or not.
How long have you been skating with the Kelso? I would be down to skate with barefoot shoes, I just don't know how long they'd last from getting grip tape rubbing on them from performing tricks, and as we all know barefoot shoes aint exactly the cheapest!
Was not expecting this haha. I've been wearing xero prios since about 2020 (not for skating). I love them. However, I didn't like how they felt on a board, so I still wear normal skate shoes for skating. Would be curious to see how they feel with insoles.
Well, after wearing barefoot shoes for a very long time, I can't put my feet into a normal pair of sneakers. Bought my first skateboard this summer 55 years old. Have mostly vivobarefoot shoes. Not really that great, the grip becomes a hinder moving the feet around.... So maybe a pair of xeros
It would be really great if you collaborated to make a skate shoe with Xero! I'm looking for a 'barefoot' skate shoe right now! I'll write to them as well and point them to this video 😄
you guys should colab with Xero and make a skate shoe! I have the prio and love it, havent thought of using it for skating though. I'll give it a try when the snow melts here
I have found you learn to be GENTLER on your feet in barefoot so overall over time you are gentler on the whole system. You also get way stronger which prevents injuries in the long run!
There's always at least one person who can't fit the shoes and it's a bummer. Would be cool if you guys started getting a second pair so everyone can try them.
Looks like the shoes should have velcro straps so AK's grandpa statement was right on mark 😆👌 but skatewise these shoes are dope. Question...do they come in black 😎👌 love braille 😎 ♥️
its weird how chris can get the board off the ground when he is doing tricks isnt it? everybody else's tricks scrape on the floor and bounce off it half the time haha. mine included!
Pls don't spread misinformation about barefoot shoes. they are for everyone who wants to have more healthy feet not just wide footed people. Also no one is trying to show off their dogs concert makes that impossible nowadays.
I noticed you doing some funny shoes to skate in try KURU shoes they are super comfortable hospital looking shoes lol. These shoes are made for plantar fasciitis

How did the word 'dogs' come to mean 'feet'? In 1913, a journalist for the New York Evening, by the name of “T.A. Dorgan”, was well known for rhyming slang, published the word 'dogs' as a citation for his feet. From that point forward the word 'dogs', has been used as slang for feet.
The song Who Let The Dogs Out, is Trinidadian slang for "The boys are in the club" the song is about guys going to a club being disrespectful to women, and the females fire back and call the men dogs lol
