  • Today, we're joined by Gabriel Finochio, cofounder of TheosU and host of "The Reactionary Christian," to discuss Christian nationalism, the church fathers, the attack of the secular Left, the importance of a Christian society, and why feminism has destroyed biblical womanhood for so many women. Is America a Christian country, and how should religion be structured into government, if at all? What actually IS "Christian nationalism"? What elements of our civilization should be conserved? What is the real danger of idolatry? And is feminism gender dysphoria?

    I would never consider myself a feminist, but as a single women (not by choice) I am incredibly thankful for the rights that I have today that were fought for by past women. I canNOT imagine not being allowed to vote-especially in this upcoming election. I am grateful that I can buy a car, rent an apartment, and open my own bank account without having to have my father co-sign for me. My mom was telling me when she was first married, she could not even get her own credit card without having my dad added to the account. I know things today are CRAZY, and we have gone way too far in the opposite direction, but I am still glad to be able to function and be respected in society without a husband.

      Yes that was the point of the push for women’s independence. Because if their husband decided to leave them they would be stuck without a job (or the skills/resume for a job, savings etc) to be able to support themselves and their children. Because we DO live in a fallen world and these things happen often. I agree it’s gone way too far and is no longer helpful to society. In my opinion, it started so women weren’t destitute. I don’t consider myself a feminist at all and thankfully have been in a wonderful marriage for 16 years and “divorce“ is never a term that graces our tongue but I’m thankful for options for women when their worlds coming crashing down. I think this speaker has a romanticized version of womanhood in past history. But I do agree the family, motherhood, femininity is a beautiful thing

      I'm glad for equality, too. Fundamental rights were not as obviously in the Bible, due to culture. However, God called many women into extraordinary things, from Deborah to Ruth to Mary to the woman at the well. Men and women were meant to be a team. Men weren't meant to dominate, but lead. Women weren't designed to be subservient, but to be willingly submissive. The act of voting is helping America decide who it will be submissive to.

      @@vaportrails7943you're right, she has the option to be single now. in the past, we would've been basically slaves to our (probably abusive) husbands because we would have no other option, no way to make our own money or escape. id take single over that any day.

    He didn’t answer the question regarding the protection of women and women having a voice. Queen Victoria was not significant to the pauper being beaten by her husband, unable to work or buy land. He avoided the actual question and talked about his personal life experience. This is sad that he lacks the ability to understand that women can simultaneously recognize husbands as the head of the household, but also that some evil men exist in this world. Maybe feminism as a whole has evolved into something that goes against Christianity, but there was and IS a need for the protection and voices of women. Miriam, Deborah, and the daughters of Zelophehad are just a few women in the Bible who had voices.

      I’m not saying I do or don’t agree. BUT I get the thinking that it works just fine if relationships between men and women are doing well in society. The men will be taking their responsibility seriously, speaking for the woman and children in a self sacrificial way.

    Not totally on board with this guest Allie. Much of what he said is good, but there was a lot of oppression and mistreatment of women in society in years past, it's well documented. Often though, over correction happens in this and other issues, and we are definitely seeing the horrible consequences of that with radical feminism. I have to add, being a Jane Austen fan and having read all of her novels, she very much represented mistreated and oppressed women - who were basically sold off to marry men they did not wish to marry. Charlotte Collins is one such example, she was desperate and marriage was her only escape. But thanks for having great conversations and I so appreciate your spirit and your stand for righteousness in these crazy times.

    Is a woman being seen as equal to a man in rights a bad thing? Finochio seems to think it is. Yikes. Queen Victoria was a rich aristocrat and her life had no comparison on that of say working class women of her day. He says voting is against a womans nature. I would have liked the interviewer to have pushed back on that opinion.
    It's interesting that all the females he referred to as good examples were white middle class or aristocratic women who were rich and had power. In the case of Austen who earned income herself by writing.
    The working class women had no protection whatsoever and the vote and feminism went some way to protecting their interests.
    All in all not a very good interview innthis aspect.

    I have to say, while I get his point about feminism resulting in single women in their 30s…as a single woman in my 30s who desires marriage with a godly man and always thought I’d be married with multiple kids by now, it hurts when my age group is painted with such a broad brush. We’re not all single because we’ve been fooled by feminism and now are desperate to freeze our eggs. Some of us can’t find godly, mature men, despite our trying. When I’ve tried dating apps (ugh) in the past, the vast majority of men I encountered with were immature Christians, or professing Christians, not godly men. Obviously this doesn’t mean there aren’t honorable, godly men out there. I know there are. And I know God has sovereignty ordained my steps, and He may have marriage in my future still. But please, in these conversations about single women in their 30s+, don’t forget about us. Some of us love the Lord and His Word, serve faithfully in our churches, and strongly desire marriage. I’ve heard this take more than once lately, and while I understand the point, it hurts.

I spent all of my 20s becoming a doctor, but thank God, my parents pushed me to also get married at an appropriate age. Then there was a pressure to have kids. When you think of women's rights, what do you think of? This refers to women divorcing their husbands and splitting up their children, the "right" to use contraception and abortion, working outside the home and abandoning their very young children to mainly strangers, sexual freedom and expression, etc. The large majority of women vote along the line of feminist liberalism. The problems within families and marriages can and should be dealt with. The vote of women is not necessary and the majority of women during the suffrage movement in the US was opposed by common sense women.

    • @kathrynebeyer6579
      @kathrynebeyer6579 Месяц назад +4

      @@kristinwannemuehler9757 I think the vote of women is not necessarily needed in all scenarios. But when it comes to the ability to speak for your household, many women are put in the position of being the only place of authority in their household. Because we live in a broken world we have single moms, single women who don’t want to be single but it’s not God’s timing yet, women who don’t have surviving family, women taking care of disabled husbands young and old. They deserve the right and ability to be a part of the vote to speak for their household.
      My original comment was really about how he minimized the struggle of women. I think having equal rights speaks to more than just the vote. Women being able to own property, to be considered equal in the eyes of the law, and so on. There was a reason that women and widows were among the groups of people Jesus talked about helping, because they were most vulnerable in that governmental structure. Being able to fend for ourselves in the unfortunate circumstance we don’t have husbands or don’t have husbands who are able to provide and vote for the best interest of our family is important.

    • @kristinwannemuehler9757
      @kristinwannemuehler9757 Месяц назад +1

      I don't think voting was the type of help Jesus was talking about. I don't think women voting will maybe ever go away in this country as we tend towards extending rights to more people than restricting. That being said, if women have the right to vote, they should also, like men are, be registered if there was ever a draft when they turn 18. If they want the perks, they should accept the responsibilities. There we often many opportunities for women to come before city counsels and town halls and bring issues before men, things that demanded attention for the good of the family and the community. This was a fully functioning system before women could vote.

We are past seeing the world have foolish thoughts leading to darkened hearts. We are now at the third and final level of sin where God givers people mover to depraved minds. At this level - change is usually impossible . Only the remnant believers will stand for and grasp God’s truth on these subjects

    I think Protestants fell away from the teaching that birth control is sinful because it doesn’t matter to them. “Faith alone” does, and teachings like that were inevitably going to be seen as “not a salvation issue”. But of course the Christian life matters. As y’all said in the relationship/religion discussion, it matters to our very souls how God asks us to live. If He’s called you to marriage, He’s called you to live it fully accepting every blessing and accepting it if He doesn’t bless in the form of a child.

    So I am 55, raised in a Christian home, and currently active in my Bible believing church. I haven’t completely finished listening to this, but have gotten far enough into the podcast where we are talking about women voting. First- women may have not wanted to vote, it was a new thing, and their first steps into having their own voice. They probably looked at it as a responsibility and this was a scary new thing. I’ve heard this lately in the conservative realm and it really bothers me. Women were not supposed to think for themselves. They were supposed to do what they were told and look pretty. So as a Christian I got to vote regardless of if I were a man or a woman if I accepted Christ. I had to make that decision for myself. I couldn’t rely on a man to make that decision for me, and I believe voting, although not near as important as my choice for salvation, should be something that every citizen gets to do.
    Also, although raised in a Christian home, and my dad would use language that he wanted me to think for myself, he raised me to do what a man said. It took me a long time to understand, my role as a Christian is to follow Christ- not my dad or the man in my house.

    • @letfreedomring7330
      @letfreedomring7330 Месяц назад +2

      People often misunderstand this concept. The vote was supposed to be one per household. Only landowners were supposed to vote because they were the ones with stakes in the elections. I kind of like this concept in principle, though of course in practice there were problems. My husband and I talk politics all the time, and he actually follows my lead with his vote about 90% of the time because I do more research, and he trusts my judgment. In theory, the man could have consulted his wife and gotten her opinion too. In practice, this may not have happened as often as it should have.
      Just some historical relevance for you. Imagine if only landowners had the right to vote now. Might our country be better off? We wouldn't be run by a bunch of ignorant college students and out-of-touch city dwellers like we are now. The problem, of course, is that plenty of intelligent and informed people rent now, but I might argue this is mostly because of poor fiscal policies put in place by ignorant voters of the past, making owning property MUCH more difficult than it should be. We've been on a downward trend for a long time.

    • @blueredpinkgreen
      @blueredpinkgreen 23 дня назад +2

      Let freedom ring, what about the widow, the unmarried, separated, or the divorced women? So, by your logic, if my husband were to die, what would become of me? I have no father to go back to, he’s long dead, and when he was alive he was evil and imprisoned for wicked s*x crimes against children.
      Seriously, what would you want society to do with me? Leave me penniless in the street to sell matches and flowers to passerbys, like they used to do back in the old days?
      And that’s kind of beside the point. The point is, if my situation happens in modern times, I guarantee you it happened back then in the old days. Things were not better back then either, it was just full of a different kind of evil. Nothing is new under the sun. And what would be your solution for those in desperate need for safety, security, property to call their own, money to call their own, the need to run the household if their husband became sick with debilitating diseases or injuries that would prevent the men from their normal course of life?
      I would propose a balanced approach. Balance is key, because to side with either extreme viewpoint, is an error.

      @@letfreedomring7330- I understand what you are saying, and what other proponents of this have talked about, I would need to go back to the same time period and look at the laws for myself. STILL- And as a landowner now, who actually doesn’t have near as many “rights” at the moment. The electoral college was set up for a reason. Citizens deserve to voice their vote. This isn’t about woke college students for me. It’s about raising generations of females that are independent enough, that she never needs to fear a man leaving her with mouths to feed as he moves on to his next conquest. It’s raising men that fear the Lord, and understand the value of family.
      It does us NO good to talk about what we wish would have happened 100 years ago. We need to move forward- teach our boys to love God, their wives, and their families. Girls- to stop chasing fairy tales, and to Love God, their husbands and their families. That staying together and working together builds the next generations.

      Your emotional and irrelevant appeals are part of the problem and are, frankly, the reason so many men have problems with women voting now. A reminder: *I* am a woman, and I love that I can vote. I'm a mother of five, and I worry about becoming a widow every day. But that is irrelevant. To at least partially answer your questions, the widow and the single woman could be landowners and so could vote according to what I said before, but not being an expert on the law or history I don't really know. I have mixed views on the religion vs. relationship language. I think the better way to phrase it would be "Yes, it is a religion, but it is so much more than that. It is also a relationship with Jesus. Let me tell you about Jesus" and of course, stick to Biblical principles. I think the thing that rubs me wrong is when we dismiss it as a religion altogether and replace it with a relationship. We should say that it's both.
    And my Pastor has said the whole it's not a religion, it's a relationship thing before. But he's great at sticking to biblical truths even though he has said that. It's one of the phrases I don't really like, but I know what he's trying to get at, I just wish he would word it differently so people wouldn't get the wrong idea about it.
    I hope that makes sense. I'm not trying to defend my pastor, it's one of the things I disagree with. However, I know that I can't base my entirety of value of his teachings from that one bad phrase. He does have good biblical truths that he delivers and he still stays very true to the requirements that the Bible lays out for us as Christians. I think that's why that phrase isn't always the way they mean. It should be a yes/and, vs. an either/or.

    The early church fathers are essentially our historical elders. So Clement, Iraeneus, Augustine, Anselm, Jerome, Aquinas to some degree. These godly men vigilantly guarded our doctrine.and documents.
    The doctrinal debates we have are naturally occurring because tge proclamation of the gospel IS our Oral Tradition. And we need to have an answer to everyone who asks us for the reasons why we believe. That occurs within and outside.
    Nationalism vs internationalism is a struggle Christians need to be involved in to protect our Christian foundations.
    Internationalism is a blender of plurality which is idolatry. Our Christian nation is already experiencing judgment from gross immorality. Surely we don't want that doubled with Idolatry but I fear that's the case already.

    I have said from the beginning that the trans issues came from feminism. They use the same lines and arguments as the feminist movement. Feminists were also the first ones to want to be in men's spaces and in men's sports. One of the big issues with the first couple waves of feminism is that it divided the family, separating women into a single person instead of identifying as a family unit, which makes them and their children vulnerable and puts men and women against each other instead of working towards cohesion and complementation. In the instances of abusive relationships, the Bible addresses those things as well, men should "love their wives as Christ loves the church". Glad to hear more people speaking up about this.

      I believe that started with “The Seventh Lambeth Conference” in 1930, by the Anglican church.

      I grew up as one of two kids in a Protestant pastor's home. It was everywhere in our "conservative" Christian circle: families of 3, 4, MAYBE 5 if you're feelin' crazy. Now I'm a traditional Catholic and I see what a ripoff that is. No one bats an eye in our community if you've got 5, 6, 7, 8 kids. I know a guy who is one of 14.

    Church fathers did not

    Jesus spoke against the Pharisees because they put their man-made laws over gods laws. We cannot let religion rules supersede over God’s rules. We must read the scriptures and use only the scriptures for ourselves

    Christianity is Definitely a relationship definitely not a religion. That Pastor is spot on when he says it’s not a religion. People non believers view Christianity as a religion, in other words, “do this do that just like Catholicism = religion. I can say this out of an experience I had with the Lord when I was a new believer . I attended a Catholic Church with my friend to honor him because he had invited me. As I sat in the pew, I began to softly cry. My spirit was soo Sad! I asked the Lord, “why am I crying”? The Lord spoke to my spirit, he said,” this breaks my heart”. The Lord was referring to their practices/religion/rituals. What an incredible experience that was for me as a new believer.
    A lot of Christians portray Christianity as a religion, a religious thing. It is a relationship. It is a relationship with the Lord Jesus and father God, and Holy Spirit. In fact, I’ve learned as the Lord showed me there are different relationships. He wants me to have a father daughter, relationship with him as my father and Jesus as my love/bride groom and friend. it is absolutely amazing how much the father will show you when you’re in his presence, meaning sitting there and your prayer closet waiting on him.💞💞🙏🏻 Father

      James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." The word religion in it's Biblical usage and languages is neither positive nor negative. That popular phrase that it's a relationship not a religion is only about 50 years old.
