  • On July 11th, the first Golden Eagle of the year arrived to the rescue center. Before the torrential rains down on Enoch lately, this young eagle suffered greatly from the added challenge of the extended drought in Utah. He's doing well now, and we hope to release him in late August when things begin to cool down.
The release will be in our new home of Enoch, Utah.

Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education.
    Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal.
    Informing, Educating and Inspiring
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.

At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.
“Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.”
Martin's book, Healer of Angels, reflects back on his life: from a young boy terrified of birds to becoming the first man in North America licensed to train a wild golden eagle in the ancient art of falconry.
Through a heartwarming collection of true stories he describes his challenging transformation from a shy dyslexic teenager, to the founder and CEO of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation.

Thank you for saving this beautiful creature! I am unemployed due to serious health issues, but if I could I would help you (if I ever win the lottery, I will send you a fat cheque!). My hobby is to screen record Bald Eagles, White-Bellied Sea Eagles, Royal Albatross and Peregrine Falcons from live feeds and upload highlights of nest life on RUclips :) OMG, when you mentioned the heat I thought of the DOC Rangers in New Zealand, who activate sprinklers in the colony to cool off Royal Albatross chicks if it is too hot - fantastic!

Question: Do Bald Eagles & Golden Eagles ever mate w/each other? How are the birds/animals doing out there since the rains/mudslides came? Will watch for this ones release. Martin, I hope your second surgery went well. Hi to Susan (love how you always call her your "lovely wife"). One other question: Do the wild birds find your Ambassador Birds help them to settle down?

Thanks Kathy, far as we know they don't mate. Everyone is doing fine. Our wildlife ambassadors are kept apart from the rehab animals, they are cared for very differently.

I had a major concern about the death of so many eagles thanks to the wind turbines killing so many of the raptors that fly at that level and now this drought on the West coast through the Utah area affecting so many over the raptors and other birds lives their young dying in their nests. I thank you for the job well done and going above and beyond to take care of these beautiful birds. They have been a thing of beauty to me all my life and we do have them here in Oklahoma, especially in the kiamichi mountains. Thank you again sir for what you do.

@@GowildlifeOrg, Soooo? 🤔. Do you have a RUclips on the backstory of your new facility? All I've seen was the request for a name for the new facility. I had no idea that you were working on something like that. 💖🌞🌵😷
