Episode 2: Recreancy
Kwebso must choose where his loyalties lie: his brother or the Clan.

So yeah there's a couple of inconsistencies and mistakes but I can't really be bothered to fix them. I like this episode less than episode 1, because it feels kinda forced, but I hope you'll like it still. I did try to give a little more voice direction as I got some feedback on episode's one voice acting.
Kwebso's actor from episode 1 has been replaced. I really hope this is temporary, because Josheir did a great job at playing him, but if it's not, let's welcome his equally awesome replacement, Warinot. Both really bring the character to life and I appreciate it so much.
The ending is inspired by Unknown Blood episode 6 because who doesn't love an ending where everything goes wrong for this one character.

Good episode though, especially near the end, I thought Kwebso was going to snap and attack RIchard for a moment! :O
However at 5:40, I gotta say uhh, did RIch suddenly become a furry to be able to sprout opposable fingers? I know it's a weird thing to notice (and this is fantasy after all) but the way he's holding that helmet really threw me off. x'D
The animals in the ALOverse have semi-dexterous claws. So they can't really do the refined things unless they have extreme training, but they can do basic things like holding or grabbing stuff if they want to xD One of their four claws (the one closest to the other forepaw) can be used as a "thumb", and the small dew claw is just useless.
And yeah you're not the only one who thought so xD The "this ends here"-line kinda gives people the idea I think xD
Ah I see! I always sort of figured it would be something like that, since they've armor and all, but to _see_ it in action just took me aback. lel
and yes, it was exactly that line that got me thinking 'ohhh shiiittt' in combination with the tension in the voice acting. owo seriously did a wonderful job with the dialogue!

So yes here's my stupid commentary on this stupid episode. I really hope episode 3 will be better. I've come to the realization that the lip sync is off in more places than I actually thought it was, that I broke the 180 rule for a bit, and that the final scene is forced as heck. I regret doing things the way I did with this episode, and I'm not happy with it, unlike episode 1.
But whatever, it's out there and I don't think I'm going back to fix it unless absolutely necessary.
Some *spoilery* commentary on the episode:
-Is Richard's love genuine? Even he kind of questions it. But he thinks it's genuine enough to run off with his first love, though.
-When "saying" his farewells, to Kwebso, Richard doesn't bother using words. Make of that what you will.
-Both Kwebso and Richard have bags under their eyes because they've actually been sleeping rather poorly. Richard because he has to lie to Kwebso and live a double life. Kwebso because he thinks his brother is dying.
-Kwebso is indeed a crybaby. Two episodes into this series and the latter halves of both episodes have had him crying. What a wuss.
-A couple of days have passed from episode one to episode two.
-Johanna can't seem to stay on model for more than one scene whoops.
-Judge Richard however you will, I won't judge you for your conclusions about him c:

Ah, great work animating Richard’s nonverbal gestures. I feel like not enough people in the animation community take advantage of being able to animate movements like that. Really enhances the character. As for the story I love all the clear motives and loyalties you’ve given these characters, and how that creates conflict.

I love how you gave Kwebso a real, deep reason to not leave the clan. Several deep reasons, actually. Instead of just “he’s forced to stay” or “he feels he has more to do.” Instead of just having their past not interact with their present, you made it an actual factor in their lives that ended up dividing them. ^-^

Ooh, nice episode! The animation is pretty smooth, and the lip-synch good, though it seemed a bit choppy at times. The backgrounds were nice, so much green ah yes x) the music fit pretty well, too! Just a small critique, but you broke the 180 degree camera rule thing several times (I noticed you did this in ALO, too, though you stopped after a while I think). I don't know how to explain it very well, so just Google it; basically how the characters are placed at times is confusing because that wasn't how they were placed before. Anyway...good job with this episode and I look forward to the next one! (Also still not happy that my last name is in there)

Nice! You showed how strong a brothers' bond can be, and yet how easily broken. In what episode will they fight to the death and then find redemption? Or will it be slightly different, where they actually kill each other? Or maybe they never see each other again... Whatever the outcome is, I'm sure it will be epic!
I was finishing Richard's "Join me." With "and together we shall destroyer the Jedi!" And other phrases like that.
BTW, Now that Silke has gone crazy, has Rufus' clan really collapsed that greatly? If so than that could be an interesting factor in how this turns out.

The Clan is faring pretty well without Silkey actually. Rufus appointed Rou the new second-in-command, and he does his job well enough. Though he isn't as great as Silkey was in her golden days.

Okay, that's it! I feel the need to defend Richard and Johanna, cause they're other perspectives and different obvious choices that Kwebso could have made if he really loved Richard
So no offense to all if any of my full opinion about this episode offense you towards these characters
*takes a deep calm breaths*
Alright so first of all, Kwebso really needs to look at the bigger picture with both his brother and the clan.
So starting with Richard, yes he lied to Kwebso and yes he put him a tough position, but if you pay close attention, you can tell that Richard didn't wanted to leave Kwebos and he wanted his brother to come with. But of course Kwebos refused and in some way (and it is) choose the clan over his brother (which is kinda of an idiotic thing to do if you haven't noticed the hostility up to specific characters unnecessarily intimidating two others which I'll get into in a just a moment)
But my point is that if Kwebos really did care and loved his brother, he would have done two things: Kwebos could have either gone with Richard and stayed with him like they always had OR instead of being all heartbroken and crestfallen about Richard leaving, he could have respected Richard's choice and be happy for him that he was going to spend the rest of his life with some he fell in love. Why you ask? Simply cause that's what families do, they support, understand and respect each other as long as that one person is truly happy where he or she is.
Now another thing of what I support about Richard leaving is that he had somewhat of a strong point about the clan.
From what we can see from home base scene, things have changed. I'll be honest, I didn't like much of some of the episodes and characters of ALO as I hoped would but even I could tell that the clan was sorta at a serene status when Silky was around, but with her gone and obviously that my least favorite couple (no offense) Rou and Taima are the new commanders or second in commands or whatever and their awful towards everyone else thus causing a more intense vibe to the clan to some point as Johanna had said "full of monsters" cause of Rou and Taima. This problem why Richard felt the need to leave cause of the way how Rou and Taima have changed everything, and it was kinda hinted when Richard talked backed at them. So basically in my opinion it's too...umm...I guess you can say kinda unstabled. Which is something that Kwebos should have realized by now, but instead he makes a dumb idea and stays with the clan...Okay maybe that was a little harsh, despite the bad idea of choosing to stay, Kwebos a good character and whatever happens in the next episode, I hope he will be strong enough to get through it, and who knows maybe he might be reunited with Richard in future episodes
You do have a point, however I can see some faults in your argument.
The thing with family and love is one thing is forever, and the other can only be temporary. Kwebso was torn apart between having to leave with his brother, and staying with the clan that gave him a home and food, and took care of him through hard times. One might say a true brother wouldn't put the other through such a situation of having to choose between two lives.
At the end of the day, Richard decided to leave his brother that he's known all his life for someone he's known a month, willing to also leave Kwebso as an emotional mess and break an oath that was important to them. For his girlfriend. That he's known a month.
Neither the less, in some sense you are right but I suppose it's a situation where you either love them or hate them.
