I thought I was good at guitar because I've spent over a decade learning it and practicing at it in order to become proficient (started with acoustic for a solid 5 years, then electric for 3, and in the last 2 or so I've gotten a proper classical one), but this video, and these songs... it makes me want to truly delve back into learning it and honing my skills until I can truly call myself a master player of the instrument. Thank you immensely for this video, I believe it may have been the push I needed in order to truly rekindle my love and passion for this specific part of my life.

And btw, I’ve been playing for a couple decades now, and while yes, I feel confident in my playing, trying to feel like you truly have mastered the guitar is a life long journey that even the greats will admit is a path that never ends.
Such an intense powerful melody, and I love that it’s a song that’s filled with contrasting layers and dynamics that build the piece up like a good movie. Forever one of my favs…
Thank you so much for this video, I’m a white Australian with no cultural ties to Spanish or Latin music but Spanish guitar just speaks to my soul. I’m learning all of these.
Awesome! Love to hear that… especially the fact that you’re not culturally connected and still doing it and passionate about it. I’m of Latin heritage(Ecuadorian roots), but I didn’t grow up with Spanish culture from Spain, so I was a total foreigner to Flamenco and the culture that goes with it. Despite that, I think anyone can learn and adopt certain aspects, while remaining true to ourselves and not just trying to clone ourselves to a different culture. Wishing you the best!
I learned guitar on classical notes but w an acoustic guitar. My dad was into classical but grew up on metal; however, I will say I did fall off but most of what I heard is so perfect and you played it better than I could brotha!!
Thanks man! Appreciate it ❤️🔥 I also grew up with a lot of rock and metal influences. I just happen to fall into playing Spanish Guitar more than the electric. (But I still love my electric too and all my other genres 😉)
Glad you agreed with my choices 😉 Asturias is such a classic! No rush on learning them all, choose one, and start with which ever works best for your level.

Awesome! Some of these may be a little too advanced for beginner. But that said, there’s beginner versions or sections of these pieces that you can work on… hope to be of help on your journey. 😉
Music has a tendency to transport you to a time and place and connect you with the emotions and feelings from then. It can be beautiful. Hopefully this is a good memory for you and not too sad ❤️
@@DavidChiriboga no I’ve been playing by ear for years but now I would like to try something a bit more difficult like this. For this song though I may have to wait till I get hand surgery. Ganglion cyst, putting pressure on my wrist. I had one removed on the left hand, now I have to have the right hand. After I recover, I will definitely be practicing for this.
Awesome! Which one do you think you’ll try first? If youve never played this style, then they might be a little challenging, since they’re not for complete beginners. But parts of Malagueña and Lagrima are a little more manageable to try out. 😉
I love Romanza. When I come across it, I usually only see the name Romantic Guitar, Romance, etc. And thought, yes, it's romantic but what is the NAME of it?! 😂 So I guess that is it. 😊 Thanks 🩵

Agreed, they’re all beautiful. ❤️🔥 I think the one that’s best to start with is possibly Malagueña, since there’s simple beginner versions (if you’re a beginner and don’t play any of these)
Awesome! I also love making simplified versions for beginners to start with, so that you can enjoy the journey from the start. But eventually it’s great to take the challenge and go for the full version. 😉
Thanks… I love Capricho and enjoy playing it as well. Generally, I’m a huge Tarrega fan for Spanish Classical. That said, I don’t feel like it’s as popular as these other selections I made for the vid. Maybe for the top 20 list 😉

David, what do you think of the guitar overall? My wife bought one for me over a year ago. It was on sale for less than $200.00 at the time. I took some of the relief out of the neck. Then bought a bone saddle. I set the string height at 2.5 mm. The last thing I did was to install a golpeador. I’ve been playing on it to learn flamenco techniques. I am really enjoying having it for many reasons. l still want to get a Blanca because the woods used in the Protege C1 give it a darker sound than I hear with a Blanca. ]What are your thoughts?
Hey Timothy! That’s cool, didn’t know you had one. So, yes, first I think when possible, it’s great if a guitar tech can asses it and make some adjustments and a proper set up to the players comfort, when someone wants to throw that in their budget. The one I received luckily feels good as is. That’s what I liked about it off hand. The only drawback I found as a budget guitar is that you have to add a golpeador for Flamenco playing if you want to take care of it. In terms of really assessing the quality, of course it’s not going to hold up to high end guitar, but what blew me way was that usually for that price range, the guitars are not that great in terms of sound quality and the playability is rough. So that why I’m digging recommending this model for budget beginner friendly students. The playability is so important for beginners. So that’s my main angle on it… And also for many beginner ears, they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between this and higher end models. But it sounds like you can hear those differences and are itching for a Blanca. 😉 The tone doesn’t bother me. I usually tend to like warmer darker tones
Thanks so much! I actually just created a version for my upcoming e-course. Havnt figured out if I will have it available on a platform outside of the course yet. Keep you posted.
