My Krx with 35s sagged to 12.5” with the addition of a macdermid design rear box and gear. New ST tenders brought it up 4.5” without adjusting factory settings on the shocks. Good point about nitrogen purge. Diggin the build series buddy!

I had to find this video again, as I am currently replacing the stock springs on my KRX to shock therapy. I'm hopefully getting the spring compressor Friday. Was using the cheapo harbor freight compressor and was pretty much like FML watching them bend with stock compression and decided to get the Amazon one. Plus I was also remembering the nitrogen thing as well. We love your channel and am going to have to look at the description again for the nitrogen thing you did.

Love your videos. Keep them coming. Can I get the link to the spring compression stand?

The spacers on the shock bolts was a case of wrong hardware, so I made it work with what I had laying around.

Ok, can you throw a link for the nitrogen caps you used?

    • @d3offroad

One one machine it’s using shock therapy caps, on the other machine is factory caps I machine and put Schrader valve on them which is a cheaper route to go and does the same thing

Great video man, I need to rebuild a set of Walker Evans that have 3k miles on them. I guess it’s recommend every 1500 miles or so and the local shops wants $750 for the rebuild. I can see it’s well worth doing it yourself and investing in the tooling. Have you did any rebuilds on Walker Evan shocks? Thanks

Hey @bobfisher9452 thanks for watching our video! We really appreciate that. As for your shocks that’s correct you should be rebuilding them I tell most people once a year because most people put on enough miles in a year to require it but if you don’t than using the mileage is also a good way to do it. Pricing varies on the shape of the shock and if it’s just a simple seals and oil or if hard parts are worn sometimes people let them go to long and you need to machine and or change parts inside to get the best performance.
It’s an awesome thing to learn if you want to learn it and tackle the job yourself invest in the tooling and get after it but having a good shock tuner work some magic for you inside them is usually more cost effective than the school of hardnocks…
I’ve been inside my fair share of Walker evans shocks and they are known to have issues from day one off the assembly line haha the last said I did for an RS1 a couple weeks ago the owner came back after the racing event in Michigan and said the machine has never felt so good it is like driving something totally different!
If you want to discuss this more or have me work on your stuff feel free to contact me directly with an email send it to d3-offroad@outlook.com
      Cheers

Thanks d3offroad! I’m actually from Michigan as well. I have a base model 2022 Proxp4. Wish I would have upgraded to the FOX shocks. I winter in AZ and that’s where my machine is. I understand the Walkers are pretty limited with what can be done with them. But for now I can change seals and oil until I upgrade the shock assembly’s. I just trail ride the desert trails and do a little climbing so basic maintenance should be fine for me. KRX was my first choice but the 4 seaters where not out and that was a requirement at the time.
      Thanks for the quick reply!
