The Next Big Mecha Game? || Mecha BREAK Alysnes Gameplay & Commentary

- I finally got a chance to play one of my most anticipated upcoming games: Mecha BREAK!
I've been looking for a new mecha game since Gundam Evolution shut down and this game might just be the answer. I was invited to participate in the closed beta this past week and it's all I've been able to think about since. Now I'm just waiting in anticipation for the next beta.
For today we'll be taking an in depth look at Alysnes, the first striker you're introduced to in Mecha BREAK. Despite being the intro striker there's a lot of complexity to this mech. It boasts an arsenal of ranged weapons, a shield, and a halberd for melee attacks. Its armor purge and call in skill also allows it to functionally live out 4 lives in one.
Let's see how Alysnes controls the battlefield in this match on Kraub Sinkhole.

Some examples I have good footage for:
Narukami - Stealth sniper
Hurricane - Shields and disruption
Tricera - Tanky mech with a turret mode
Falcon - Glass cannon flier
Skyraider - Bulkier flier with a sniper weapon
Tricera seems like a funny archetype, similar to Tachanka and Bastion early on in their lifetimes. But those all do sound like fun little mechs to mess around with.
The fliers seem pretty fun, maybe you could go through the Falcon since as you said the Skyraider is the more OP unit.
I'd like to see both falcon and skyraider
Both flyers and Hurricane because I can't find footage of that one. Since this vid I've watched like 10 hours of gameplay. Im addicted to a game I can't even play yet.
I would be interested to watch some gameplay from Tricera, I'm not sure if a low-mobility unit would be great to that game, but the feeling of unleashing a bullet hell on your enemies... *bites lips* hmmmm
Armored Core like gameplay with a Gundam style mech. Definitely gonna get the game when it released.

@@ChikenHK that's one of my thoughts as well. They have the money to make something good but pooped a boring skin of another boring game.
This looks like a real fun game. Mix of Virtua-On and Armored Core.
I wasn't sure if mecha break was gonna be much interesting, but wow, it looks great!
Looks really cool. I like the idea that you lose armor and become weaker. I wish the pilots had helmets. Thats always a pet peev of mine :P

It certainly had its flaws but it's still one of my favorite games of all time.
It would definitely be cool to customize your pilot and mech. Having someone watch you in their replay and flexing your cosmetics would be fun.
Love the fact that the round reticles HUD design kinda reminds me of the HUD design from ACVerdictDays and AC6 which are simplistic yet looks so cool.
The eject animation on death, and the kill cam has a lot of style. Looks great.
The only mech game wroth that still alive now MechWarrior Online, Titanfall 2 and Armor Core , hope this game make it to the list
I’ll probably be seeing a lot of it so I appreciate how detailed and high effort that killcam is.
Yesssss! This game needs more exposure! It has really good potential.
I got into the closed beta as well, the gameplay is definitely really good but I'm concerned about the microtransactions they've got set up. This studio could very easily make the exact same mistakes as Gundam Evo but without the name recognition to back them up and maintain a playerbase for a bit.
I'm a bit worried about that as well, but I know a lot of people gave feedback on that exact issue so hopefully they're considering it.
I'm excited, from the designs to the graphics, the movement. It all looks great. I can't wait to try it out!

The movement has really impressed me. I really like how swift and smooth it is.
Exteel players, ASSEMBLEEEEEEEEEE. Honestly so crazy how it's been 14 years since the servers shut down, I played that so much back in the day, super excited about this game, just hoping it's good and has a healthy player base so it doesn't get shutdown prematurely 🤞

visually looks pretty good
interested to see how much suit variety there is
movement seems a bit strange. general mobility appears to be a uncomfortably low at a glance with sudden very short bursts of high speed, most notably during close range attack sequences
I felt the same way with the movement when I first started playing but after a few matches I was already pretty used to it.
The flying characters are both pretty fast though so if the others still feel too slow they might be more your style.

showing whats going on in the cockpit is a nice touch
zone of the ender vibes on the aerial gameplay, gundam builds and fights like ac.... you convinced me i'm buying deluxe

I watched people play this a long time ago. The need to include options to customize the HUD, move things around, or reduce the size.
I am super excited for this game to play and watch you play. This looks like it just may scratch my GE itch. Regardless definitely looking forward to the release.
Looks very good and fun, might just be my go to mech game replacement for Gundam Evo.

Dude! If they over time add massive space battles to this game then this could be the ultimate mecha game. Gundam operations had cool space battles, but they didn't capture the highspeed combat in space the same way the series dipicts it in the anime. I also am happy these devs are pushing the envelope so far. This will push bandai and from Software to go even harder and make greater games

The alynes reminds me of the of the gundam virtue from gundam 00 with the outer shell been removed and the speed increasing to boot

Good mecha games are extremely rare. The gameplay looks great. However, I sincerely hope the devs behind Mecha Break don't drop the ball as hard as the ones behind Gundam Evolution.
looks great, one thing i think is great is that full armor isn't as fast but I feel no armor should have a more speed advantage

I only got to play the closed beta of exteel, and saw most players having Freedom inspired -suits- mechs and that white and blue Gundam scheme...

@@babylonprojectcorp if you meant Hawken Reborn, I've played it, it was riddled with AI art, questionable monetisation, the gameplay and it's direction are out of whack lol
I would be interested for a campaign with this gameplay like a co-op mode but a team PVP is also awesome too I miss games that had a campaign co-op along with PVP and modes and stuff I just hope this doesn't become like helldivers 2 where it's just PVE or PVP by itself games these days need to have more game modes combined into the main game for it to survive
I just wish there was a game like this but with a large scale war mode. Imagine like 64vs64 mech battles on a huge map.

wow this looks great. I think the only thing that bothers me is the dash effect around the edge of the screen. There's too much dashing involved to have an effect flashing like that over and over.

Needs a lot of polishing, but has a lot of potential.
It's a shame that I can't fight with/againts you due to time zone reasons, coz I've tried some matches in NA server and the ping was kinda manageable.
Anyways hope the game will do great on launch and very exited to have more and more mech games popping up lately.
Yeah it'd be great if we could play sometime. Hopefully the servers run as smoothly as the beta (or better) on launch.

I would prefer something with a good campaign too, but this does look interesting. What I really want is another Dynasty Warriors Gundam game but I doubt we'll ever see that.
Looks fun at least. Not sure if its my cup of tea though. I think its how the game handles weight. Heavier mechs are certainly slower but dont seem to feel heavier. Visually the game is striking (heh) and some of those sound effects are really on point, so I'll definitely pick take a closer look at it myself one of these days.

Only if you applied to and were accepted into the content creator program (if you were you should have the "Closed Beta CC" role in the discord).
The game is looking fun. The Hud needs some work, it either takes up too much screen real-estate or the opacity needs to be adjustable or just have thinner lines/graphs. A slider for some of these aspects would be a nice at the very least.

I played during the testing and all i can say is if they fix the server connections and hit detection the game would ge great.
As an Armored Core 6 fan I look forward to this. But I worry about the gameplay modes... No single player mode ? Also, did you feel at times there's too much going on in the screen?
Seems like this will be quite motion sickness inducing. Hope I can try it first before I buy.

I believe the game is planned to be free to play like Gundam Evo so you should be able to try it out.
I played a bit of Side 7 a couple weeks ago and it was fun. The playerbase is pretty small but it was still nice to get a chance to play as some of my favorite suits again. Had a good lobby where we had some close games too.
I get motion sickness very easily, I can't play games like Warframe, but this game doesn't give me any discomfort whatsoever. I hope you'll enjoy it too, I'm pretty sure it will be F2P based on the monetization.

@FireSpykeGames How have the devs responded to feedback on balancing the mechs?
It will be hard to say until the next beta, but there were a lot of surveys during this beta and other ways to submit feedback through the discord after the beta ended as well so it seems like they're taking it seriously.

Question: With the NDA, are we now allowed to share footage now that the Closed Beta is done for now?
Only if you were accepted to the content creator program (you would have the Closed Beta CC role in the Mecha Break discord). Also they have a process for submitting videos for review before we're allowed to publish them.

Is the ground boosting normally so slow or do you throttle? Seems like you may as well be running at that speed. I hope this game has good PvE content and a campaign, I don't like multiplayer at all, lol. Gameplay looks great though, this is what Gundam games should be like.
