As I was watching the video back, I realized there’s something I say throughout the video I want to clarify because I feel like it might’ve gotten lost due to me not doing an extensive analysis of every part of the song such as the lyrics themselves unlike I usually do. I mention that byredO is to me essentially a commentary on obsession, questions of responsibility and morality. And I want to make sure no one confuses this with me saying that the lyrics of the song are an explicit commentary or reflect a moral judgment preaching this. Because what I actually meant is that this commentary is mostly reflected in the song’s function on the album and the overarching story when contextualized by all the other songs, just like the description of the album proposes. For example the lyrics are more akin to dOra maar where the protagonist is not necessarily saying/feeling like he’s doing a bad thing, but you can still see the cracks in his experience in a few lines-though I’d say byredO approaches this in a more cognitive dissonant way. A lot of byredO is just showing the process of the boy falling into obsession (the word obsession itself nowhere to be seen in the lyrics at all) and the boy justifying himself and experiencing his indulgence as a logical thing when he feels pulled into it in the moment. He even states multiple times that he sees everything completely clearly. Yet throughout the lyrics there are also a few moments that imply the opposite as he briefly questions if this light might actually not be sunshine or if the breath that reaches him might not be perfume at all. Or, the in my opinion most damning paradox being: that he is consistently talking about his head spinning and feeling drunk yet he also says and believes he’s “seeing clearly”(is clear of mind). By the end of the song however, even if its not in the lyrics, the boy clearly still realizes that he feels guilty about this experience which is the catalyst for him to turn to god to ask for forgiveness in the next song. Because if he actually believed the majority of what he says in the lyrics, there would be no reason for him to turn to god at all.
Great video as always! Something I love about OOO songs is they almost always leave room for the listener to bring their own interpretation of not only the meaning and intention of the lyrics, but also how these things fit in with their own morals and world view. The songs are so often about very strong feelings that are ambiguous or contradictory, and I think this conflict forces us to pause and try to make sense of it.
I love your analysis and how you mentioned that the order of the songs on the album fillow the progression of their storyline! I've been trying to understand their storyline amd that really helps. Its so interesting how they disscuss the dangers of obsesion so frequently and eloquently through their songs. Also, you just earned a new subscriber! Your interpretation was so clear and interesting!
What I love about ip1 is when it drops it gave a more humane cinematography as the whole mv is so aesthetically pleasing in contrast w their previous mvs which rely heavily on the lore and it just gives a different aesthetic. As the previous mvs are all colorful and grand compared to the libido mv which is in more grey toned color grading. & we can sense the eagerness and the desperation from the songs too , the hunger for the libido and how they cant surpress the instinct. (Which we hear the boys delivered beautifully) I also love the songs placement too which i feel it is very cohesive + the interlude tracks in the physical cd , it really ties everything up.
This song is awesome... I love it too... The music, the lyrics, the voices and what it represents in the Instinct story... One of my favorites songs, no doubt. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing them with us. 💕
I had to pause before I even started the video just to say THANK GOD IM NOT THE ONLY OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG ❤😍🥰🤌🏾🔥🫶🏾 I could listen to byredO everyday it’s a beautiful sexy relaxing but you can still bob your head vibe type song ; it makes you feel good and you can’t help but sing to it and be like “mmh this my shit right here” 😂❤
I love love love you for making this because byredo was a paradigm shift in my music taste, like oh my GOD- I can't put into words how i feel about the song so hearing it from anyone else is just !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for making this video
I loved this analysis, loving how their theme stay consistent. I think we can conitnue the journey with dOpamine and this neurobiological obsession and how it translates to feelings.
First, it's also one of my favorite songs❤ Second, I loved the interpretation you gave to the song, talking about obsession and connecting it with other songs WOW. And lastly, I don't know why but when I listen to byredO, I always feel like dancing to it but not just any dance but ballet. ❤❤❤ Anyway I loved your video ✨
oh that’s awesome, I also associated this song with smooth dance moves! I edited a dance fmv to the byredo art pop remix on my channel. LOU really has interesting analyses 🫶
please make a video on their upcoming song as well after it's release!! I have a feeling it's gonna take the same route of libido. i love your commentaries......
taste ! I always loved when ooo dive into the sophisticated, sensual song like byredo, boss, picasso, suit dance. However i do wish they went back to this sounding as I feel ooo's music these days after ip2 has shifted as I feel JJ is not that heavily involved w them anymore due to establishing modhaus and handing ooo's music to haeil & nine.
This is not hate towards the boys but I feel like ooo’s music too has been abit lacking (im talking about the seoul drift) album like there is not such grand-ness sounding and they are gradually leaning towards noise music w chrome hearts , seoul drift which no judgments made (if you do like noise music) but excited for their newest comeback on 10.1
@@maxwell6445 it's like loona started to have more noisy sound (at least in title tracks) after JJ's departure from BBC, history seemed to repeat itself... which would be somewhat funny if it wasn't so sad

I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the song. Byredo truly is a masterpiece that cannot be replicated
byredO is one of my favourite OOO songs because I like how it sounds. It is that simple; I don't need it to be more complicated than that.
