I don’t understand why people keep saying this fight is being made too late. Both fighters are still in tip top shape and are only 2 years in age away from each other.
Bud was literally hurting Spence moving backwards on the ropes with an uppercut. Even Spence coming foward at that point and trying to push his will on Crawford completely backfired with a perfectly placed uppercut that knocked him down. He's a monster and is extremely special. I rarely say this about guys, like Teddy says, his instincts are absolutely ridiculous.
Spence is to use to playing bully ball, Being aggressive and backing his opponents down. Spence was walking right into them counters because he can't fight backing up or adjust his game plan to a much quicker, counter puncher.
How was Gamboa in the "twilight of his career" when he faced Crawford? Gamboa became pro in 2007 (Crawford became pro in 2008) and he fought Crawford in 2014, he was undefeated and had one fight in the weight class where he became the interim champ. Y'all gotta stop diminishing Crawford's wins and career. He took out hella undefeated fighters. He will take out another on 7/29 because there is nothing Spence does in the ring that Bud cannot do better.
Honestly, it’s a blessing in disguise that this fight didn’t take place when Bud desperately wanted it. I believe Crawford is the sharper fighter in a multitude of ways. It’s like comparing actors; De Niro and Pacino, both are great at playing the same type of nuanced Mob characters or characters with deep sensibilities, but Pacino has more range from the standpoint of his stage/theatre pedigree and his ability to delve heavily into Shakespeare, which De Niro hasn’t shown. It makes Pacino more well rounded in that sense though both are stellar performers. Spence in this sense is De Niro and Bud is Pacino. Who is truly better, will be decided by the clash of styles in the ring and the RING only. How Bud can win is: w/ foot and hand feints, angles, controlling distance on the outside and winning choice exchanges on the inside and darting out. Counter punching and punch placement, instead of volume will be key for Bud. How Errol can win; Punch placement to the body (liver shot), but to be able to succeed at going to Buds body, he’ll need to show something he has never really showed. FEINTS. If he feints to the head and gets Bud to loosen his defense to the body, the cumulative damage over time can cause major problems late into the championship rounds. Spence can also win, surprisingly by boxing on the outside, luring Bud into a slugfest, if Bud becomes impatient with the perceived style he prepared for of “pressure and volume”. You have to believe that Errol is well aware of Buds counter punching prowess. It’s how all of his last 10 fights ended in brutal KO’s. That tactic by Spence, though he doesn’t have the longer reach can work, if he stays behind the jab as he routinely does and can catch Bud coming in with the overhand cross or as I said before, FEINT to the head and target the body (or opposite). Both fighters well be in SUPREME condition as always so I can’t irresponsibly say one guy will come in shape better than the other, because BOTH men have ELITE fitness and have never had their stamina questioned in a fight. I believe both fighters will be smart enough to stay away from the FIRE early on, so it’ll be a fight of evading each others traps and whoever does this best will win by decision. Whoever becomes impatient first, will have an early night. Spence will need to show some additions to his arsenal (combinations, better balance when throwing, because he lunges forward A LOT, FEINTS). Bud is the size that he is, he’ll never be naturally bigger than Errol, but what I’d love to see is enhanced defense, particularly between shots and when he’s backing out “pulling out”. He tends to show boat a little or get so much in a groove that he slips and lets his guard down. He CANNOT do that and survive long term throughout the fight: Cumulative damage is what Errol is about first and foremost (breaking you down systematically). Both fighters know what their weaknesses are (inherently), NOT the fans. I expect them to drill that in their camps, so who wins to me in the end is the best TRAP SETTER and I as of now, give that slight edge to Bud.
@@russell9411 your missing the point …it’s a fight …. Meaning when your making adjustments your Also getting hit lmao ….by the time Bud figures out Spence he’ll be broken physically…u fan boys are forgetting Spence was in the Olympics smh he can box too 🤣🤣🤣🤣

One crazy thing about Spence is, literally everyone always pick against him in his fights. And he always kind of come out to win and prove everyone wrong, then after, excuses comes out. This one will be interesting cause Teddy also picked Mikey over Spence back then 😂
What have u been reading? When was Spence the underdog? He was the favorite in Porter fight people were saying he was going to destroy porter...when he fought Brook , Brook had just come back down from 160 after getting beat bad and problem with his eye
@@clarissaturcios2346 Dude I don’t know who you are but I’ve been following both dudes for long. Bud has always been favorited in almost all of his fights. Spence was definitely favorited against Porter considering how Porter fought ugas and Spence current form. But that wasn’t Spence “popular” fight. He was doubted against Danny due to accident and Porter’s fight wasn’t one of his most popular fights, most pundits and ex boxers always pick against him, especially the Mikey fight. He said he lost respect for most of the people he used to look up to in boxing as they were underestimating him though he’s bigger and better than Mikey. All they kept talking about what Mikey’s iq. And it is the same now with Bud, everyone picking Bud over him using the “iq” line. That’s what makes Spence interesting cause he doesn’t talk much, so we will see, I believe the fight is 50-50.
Ugas has no defense or footwork same for Danny not as athletic and Mikey way to small had no power to make Spence respect none of those guys anything like bud at all
I like Crawford simply because he's lived cleaner, is more athletic and has more abilities technically. Spence is going to have to come forward and Bud will catch him.
Al and Don King were pieces of sh*t. Especially Don King. You don't have to believe me, just watch interviews of his former fighters talking about how he stole millions from them among other things. Don't believe me, go watch the videos. Mayorga and Julio Cesar Chavez are recent examples, but research and you'll find more.
@Am Nick so basically you're saying no ones allowed to pick Crawford, no ones allowed to have a different opinion, if anyone has an opinion you don't agree with that means they're a hater? See how dumb you sound..Some people prefer Mercs over Bms some people prefer Lambos over Ferraris, does that mean they hate a Ferrari? grow some common sense Teddy don't hate Spence hes praised Spence so many times but you only acknowledge him picking Crawford, don't cry dude It's just an opinion.
All the boxing scholars in the world have an opinion, what’s great is all the answers will be given on fight night. Both of these guys (Crawford & Spence) are special fighters. This should be a fight for the ages & an instant classic from this generation pool!! My money is on ESJ by late round stoppage or UD
I'm doing my bets like that with stoppage 11th round. spence doesn't get KO's at this level but he broke a man's bones when he got his 1st title and broke another man's bones in his last fight, the doctor had to stop the fight to save Ugas because Spence was being cautious with him still. he could potentially damage Crawford bad
This should be a great fight and I think it's a toss up. One thing I know is this will be more of a technical fight. Teddy breaks down everything smoothly. It helps people who are new to boxing understand the ins and outs of fights. May the best man win on fight night.

My comments about the Crawford, Spence fight are post- fight, and I have listened to a lot of commentaries on the fight, by fighters, ex-fighters, announcers, coaches and everyone in between. I have not heard anyone explain this fight and the fighters as well as Mr. Atlas has done, all before the fight. You sir are a very special person in your own right as you have called Terence Crawford the same. Well done, I have always respected your opinion about boxing and the science thereof. I have been a fan of Mr. Crawford's since I saw him box around three years ago. In the ring and out a very decent, honest and humble person. As for Mr. Spence I wish him only the best, which he deserves too. I do not believe he is at the same level as " Bud". The natural instinct, as Teddy said, is one of his greatest assets. GOD bless them both in their future endeavors and we can look forward to more great fights. Thanks again to all. YHS, campdog
Very interesting take on a detail in a Crawford fight that makes him special. As a Crawford fan, this shines a new light on a fighter I already like a lot. Thanks, Teddy.
I been following Mr Teddy Atlas for years; that man knows boxing from the roots on up. He can break a fight down in a very convincing way.l done heard what he said, so I'm spreading my dust on Crawford !
@Bless2Fish Ugas stood there like a fool, he was like a sitting duck. Crawford ain't gonna do none of that shit 🤣🤣🤣. Spence better be less agressive because against Ugas he was open for ton of counters if he was fighting Crawford. Ugas can't punch like Crawford. Spence needs to be focused on not getting caught with a counter he can't see
90% of people think crawford has to box Spence to win. im the 10% that disagrees.. crawford has to fight spence to win period.. crawford is gonna knock him out on the inside.
I personally believe Crawford can outbox Spence with his ring movement and skill but he won't want to. Bud has openly told the public I want to sit in the pocket and bang with Spence.
I’m surprised everyone picking Crawford. People don’t realize Spence is very smart. Only thing keeps me 60/40 is the car accident’s. Still think Spence wins.
Yes we shall see how Esjr. Reacts when Bud catches him. They both start slow however after 6 rounds Esjr. Get busier to the body and will break you down like he did to Ugas. But hey styles make fights! For sure it's a 50/50 fignt to close to call!
It’s a matchup we have seen over and over again……….aggressive come forward volume puncher vs slick counter puncher! On the elite level, the slick counter puncher usually wins because the aggressive volume puncher style is tailor made to supply the counter puncher with opportunities to be slick and counter punch! Crawford style needs a volume puncher to have more chances to look great or spectacular! The nail in the coffin and the real reason most coaches and experts pick Crawford is because usually the slicker counter puncher doesn’t have the power! In this case, Crawford has dynamite in both hands, it’s almost like it’s just a Matter of time before he lands a big shot! If Spence throws 100 punches/round he will get clipped!
Crawford is usually a slow starter so Spence's may have an opportunity to get ahead. However, if Spence's body shots are less effective, he could be in trouble late in the fight. I'm leaning towards a win for Crawford by a TKO.
We’ll see. Crawford has a tendency to start faster against southpaws. If Crawford comes out Southpaw from the beginning of round 1, then I think he intends to start fast. He tends to also start slower when he starts out orthodox.
TKO? With what power is Bud going to KO Spence? You guys are giving Bud punching power, that hasn’t been proven.Knocking out B level fighters is normal even for prospects in boxing. Bud has never been a KO artist. Stop the 🧢!

Teddy, simply IS boxing! As a pure analyst, with no managerial or promotional skin in the game, Teddy will give you a completely objective, highly experienced (as a trainer) opinion that is almost always spot on. If you want to know what's really going to happen in a fight, and almost assuredly who's gonna win, just listen to Teddy... PERIOD !!
Yeah ok mate - what did he say re Canelo v Bivol? "whatever the reason, I think at at the end of the day Canelo wins..." yeah mate - I listened... might pay to keep the salt on hand
I tend to agree his technical breakdowns are good but I still feel he has his favourites and non favourites, And leans towards his favourites sometimes when making predictions, like a fan , gets influenced by what he wants to happen
Crawford was orthodox while getting hurt when his was down. He switched southpaw like he normally does while he's in trouble to control range but doin this while he was hurt was impressive. He switched so he turn towards gamboas left to avoid the right hand giving Gamboa a longer distance and different angle to land it from in the heat of the moment knowing Gamboa needed to be close cuz of his height n reach
@@tyronnalston1125 what I remember most from the fight was when Crawford set Gamboa up with a trap and he almost caught Gamboa with what I think was a left, going backwards. When he missed the shot, I’ll never forget, he looked at Gamboa nodded his head and smiled as if to say “Mmhm almost got yo ass!” This trap was so cold, it just showed the extreme intellect this guy is working with.
Loma definitely would have won 4 years ago but on the other hand Haney probably hasn't even peaked yet so 4 years ago would have been way too early for him
Excellent analysis from Teddy. Always amazes me how trainers, former fighters & savvy boxing people can give their perspective & prediction on caliber fighters who possess instinctive skills & IQ at Championship level. Can’t wait for this matchup next month 👍🏻
I agree with Teddy Atlas. Crawford is a great counter-puncher. Errol likes to throw an abundance of punches to weaken his opponent’s. The difference between Errol’s previous opponent’s compared to Terrance Crawford, is that Terrance waits for you to make that one pivotal mistake and he capitalizes off of it. Errol thinks he’s going to punish Terrance Crawford. When in actuality, Terrance wants Errol to throw an abundance of punches so that way he can use Errol’s own strength against him by counter punching his attack. I got Terrance Crawford via a unanimous decision. Errol will get knock down eventually, but he will continue to fight to the finish because he’s a warrior nonetheless . This is going to be a great fight.

Let’s not forget Bud gave Gamboa his first L by KO. Gamboa was smack dab in the middle of his prime at 23-0 with 16 KOs. Many boxing pros said Gamboa would be too much for Crawford. Teddy is minimizing the accomplishment by saying Gamboa was past himself. Bud beat a prime Olympic gold medalist rising star from Cuba. He beat him badly too. Brutally! We about to find out whether or not the delay in this fight being made was more about being on different sides of the street, or somebody and their advisors truly did not want to put themselves in the ring physically or financially with a killer like Bud. I'm taking the latter on this one. I don't think Spence fears or hates Bud as a person, I do think he has the utmost respect for Bud and his abilities regardless whether Ej fans respect Bud or not. I think Errol knows this dude ain't nothing to play with and if this fight is going to end before the last bell it's going to be because Bud rocks Ej as he's trying to pressure or exchange. You can't exchange with a guy who puts fools to sleep with both hands and with different kinds of punches. Errol will need to be very careful and he must dial it back on his punch output and pressure for portions of the fight. Because Ej likes to have a high work rate he's going to expose himself a lot to counters from a very fast handed guy. Ej better be on his A+ game.
Crawford’s punches won’t have the same effect on a naturally bigger guy. Think of hopkins vs Trinidad where did all of Trinidad’s power go vs hopkins and winky Wright ? He was up against naturally bigger fighters

The one thing I believe that hasn't been getting mentioned is, TC has now become comfortable at 147. If this fight was say.. 3 years ago, I'd say EJ had an even better chance at getting the win. Now that advantage is gone. As far as " THE BIGGER FIGHTER " is concerned. I don't think you can confidently say thats EJ. Again.. TC has put to bed EVERYONE he has faced at welterweight! while being the so called " SMALLER FIGHTER " who has now got comfortable with fighting in this weight class. SCARY.. if you ask me. 💯 on the interview, great show.
Thank you! He is not small and walks around at/cuts from 170+ lbs. Folks are so delusional with this stuff. He no Nonito Donaire or Whitaker going up who had a small frame. He barely an inch ½shorter than Spence. They call Loma "LomaChrist" Crawford about to get that sanctioning himself. The cultists following is beyond too much. The man Jesus too and does nothing flawed to them. Love Teddy but Crawford not a switch a hitter. That goes to the Marvelous One Hagler. He tripping a bit with some of the praise. Hagler by far the best switch hitter.
Maaaaan! Bud is a counter puncher and Errol is tailor made for Bud! Last time spence fought a smaller fighter, which was Mikey Garcia he didnt knock him out he boxed. If he fights Bud like that, then Spence goes to bed in the 9th!
It's entertaining but Freddie Roach is much more reliable with his predictions. He even won millions betting. He actually was a boxer and knows a lot. Freddie can tell a great story though. He's like a hollywood writer, which they could use right now due to the unfortunate strike.
We will see if Terrance can go all the way to the end from the consistent pressure with a counter, we will find out if Crawford has been at at this level as far as fighting natural 147 pounders

This could have been the third fight bye now..Leonard fought Hearns twice.. Fought Duran 2 or 3 times.. Pacquiao fought Marquez 4 times.. IJS
Spence was sending sms, email, phone call, letter, fax, raven, telegraph punches to Crawford all night long.
True…I said the same thing to myself. Gamboa at that time was a undefeated young killa 🤷♂️
It’s the Crawford effect.
Crawford got a better jab? lol
Spence wins easily
Gamboa came up 2 weight classes dude
Ok we going to have to see because Terrence Crawford has to pass the test like every opponent of Errol Spence! It’s no cake walk!

@@AJ-vh3vg "they both start slow" you don't know shit about boxing
Miss u on espn.. need u back on the big fights
OG immediately started talking about Loma not even sixty seconds into the interview 😅
Crawford is usually a slow starter so Spence's may have an opportunity to get ahead. However, if Spence's body shots are less effective, he could be in trouble late in the fight. I'm leaning towards a win for Crawford by a TKO.

@@martinzelaya2927 it’s PBC and It’s Vegas so Errol wins if it goes to judges even if he didn’t. I think Crawford needs a stoppage.
We’ll see. Crawford has a tendency to start faster against southpaws. If Crawford comes out Southpaw from the beginning of round 1, then I think he intends to start fast. He tends to also start slower when he starts out orthodox.

Amazing compliment to mention Crawford with the like of Jordan and the other greats he mentioned. Crawford lived up to for sure.
Love listening to scholars. Teddy is a boxing scholar, having so much to give from his knowledge , experience, and perspective.
I get what teddy was saying but he just had the wrong stands lol which was very important to point out .

You miss Spock you said Spence, when you were critiquing Crawford

i love how spences IQ is so underestimated. you heard what broner said
He got iq but bud is at a different level when it comes to Making adjustments and ring IQ

@@StevenPolanco-yp3yc bud figures people out😂
@@StevenPolanco-yp3yc against bums yes
@@mattyboy2780 washed up fighters, yup
Maaaaan! Bud is a counter puncher and Errol is tailor made for Bud! Last time spence fought a smaller fighter, which was Mikey Garcia he didnt knock him out he boxed. If he fights Bud like that, then Spence goes to bed in the 9th!
Teddy’s breakdown sounds solid🔥
Very solid
@@StevenPolanco-yp3yc Spence wins u fanboy 😂
It's entertaining but Freddie Roach is much more reliable with his predictions. He even won millions betting. He actually was a boxer and knows a lot. Freddie can tell a great story though. He's like a hollywood writer, which they could use right now due to the unfortunate strike.

Teddy has so much Amazing knowledge , He can tell you who and when it happens .
Awe they just gave a Retirement Party 🥳 🎉 for Bud's Eye 👁!!!
We will see if Terrance can go all the way to the end from the consistent pressure with a counter, we will find out if Crawford has been at at this level as far as fighting natural 147 pounders
Teddy was right, Crawford beat the breaks off Spence. You can't come to ring looking like Too Sweet from the movie Penitentiary.
I don't see a late stopped for Crawford, unless he can withstand the breaking bone offense of Errol.
How'd that turn out for ya?
Love Teddy but man the the Playback speed option is a greatest RUclips option. 2 times the speed is perfect 😊
They got EJ as the Underdog ?👀owwweeee😂
I love it it makes this ass whipping bud got even more satisfying 🙏🤣

Errol the type to call out boots ..... after his win over crawford
Facts
Winner should fight Boots or Virgil to not only solidify their legacies but to leave no doubts behind about what if and clean the division, then move up to 154
Oh man..crawford screwed😂...teddy most of the time predict the opposite..
You sound like a casual 😂
Facts. 😂
😂
😂
In his first interview teddy said he was going with Spence because he was bigger but said he liked Crawford so i guess Spence is screwed 😊
Always good to listen to Teddy
I got Spence.
Excellent Observation
Mikey had no power to keep Spence honest at all I feel like early he’ll feel Crawford and late he’ll get frustrated and eventually get stopped
Remeber, Teddy predicted that Mike Tyson would get himself DQ'd during the Holyfield rematch. And he was right! He was correct here too.
So Spence was called the terminator because he’s a defensive fighter who is very active. Very had to withstand for 12 rounds
He's definitely not defensive he gets hit alot
@@StevenPolanco-yp3yc his best skill is defense in my opinion. Just so active that he will get hit quite a bit.
@@quincyquetant3491 this is something ppl overlook. Bud is hit less because of how he fights, movement and looking to counter. Errol however is in your face and is pushing the pace of course he’s gonna get hit more. The difference to me is that errol doesn’t get hit as clean.
@@brandonchandler8632 facys, great analysis
I love when fighters come at bud. Just walking into to shots left and right until it’s stopped 😂
