    Yes, this is exactly how I view femininity and we have been viewing femininity from the masculine perspective, and not from the actual feminine perspective. When I read ancient text and learning about the goddesses people used to worship in ancient times. I realized the feminine has a dark side as well, and it wasn’t just peace and light, like the the modern version of femininity today . Back then, they wanted to keep the goddesses happy, because they knew about her unpredictable/chaotic energy to her. So they would bring her gifts and return she would spare their lives (hopefully)

      i really wonder where the appeal is in finding identity in gender performance, no matter how you try to frame it or insist on spiritual and symbolic ties it always just ends up affirming questionable gender stereotypes, that are usually boring AND dehumanizing and not reflective of the complex human psyche at all

      @@y0landa543 to be clear for my interpretation are you critiquing this videos content in that the creator is proposing finding identity in gender or gender performance? I will say I find the concept of women being receivers disturbing bc my experience is that the notion has always been sexualized and I wonder if in that realm the opposite gender is not able to receive? I think they can and do, and so what about external vs internal organs so to speak make the action of receiving and giving different? I have so much more I could say about my perspective on this topic... What are your thoughts?

    I love you for this. How I viewed feminine never coincided with anyone online. Their definitions felt very performative, everything is related to men and for their convenience.
    The way you described it makes so much more sense, we are often reduced to just side characters in people's life. But we have an individuality just like men do. Of course we need them in our lives and they need us but that doesn't mean we should reduce our own worth.
    Moreover we all are part masculine and feminine and should respect and nourish both aspects of us.
    Thank you for the great video.

    Once again I vibe with your video sm. The misconception of receptivity as inertia has been on my mind for years!! Femininity is action within, just because it doesn't show up in the external world it doesn't mean it's not there. What I'm about to say might be a product of my personal experience (I'm a trans man) but having walked both walks of life I have a feeling that masculinity, from an evolutionary perspective, is an addition to a wholesome being. Like males are the start of technology, in flesh. I'm a bit cautious about bringing it up, but Sexual Personae is a wonderful book about western art and femininity as the 'terrible medusa' is talked about in great lenght. Paglia, the author, has been at the center of some controversy in the past few years, bot honestly the book is dope. (I'm so so trying to behave but I really like the topic you choose 😂 feel free to ignore this wall of text.)

    I haven't recieved any notifications when you upload lately. I'm happy I checked in. I love your interpretation of femininity. I don't fit in with many of the feminine communities online. Many of them focus on traditional roles and boosting your man's ego by submitting to him and letting him lead. No judgment if that makes someone happy, but there is so much more to it than that. Most people these days simplify such a complex energy. I lean toward the darker destructive aspect of the feminine, nature and storms. Rather than sit pretty , submit and letting your power be controlled. What happened to the unpredictable and mysterious feminine? I've seen vidoes showing women how to walk and even pick up a wine glass to appear more feminine to a man, rather than owning her own power in order to live her best life.

    Thought provoking content, as always. Let me just say that I enjoy seeing you laugh/smile. It's a reminder that though your essence appears to me to be much more stoic/severe (I mean that in a positive way...Xena!), that there's more to you. Not any person is just ONE thing. I want to say that as a biological man, femininity does seem to be something of a gesture (to use Serge Lutens' term). It is "performed", but not in a phony way. But perhaps as a man I FEEL the performative element more because it's more conspicuous coming from a man. Less expected, and in some cases, less respected. I mean in the way that I "perform" femininity in some ways: aesthetically, my vibe...the list goes on.
    I suppose my question for you is how you perceive your particular feminine ideals. See, for me, there is a reverence I have for shall we see "non-corrupted/diluted femininity", but also attraction. Femininity is "other" enough, that even though I don't identify as purely hetero/homosexual, I'm stimulated, intrigued...want to get closer. I don't know if you would admit to such a thing. Girl crushes? It is just deep respect? Could you find yourself attracted to a woman who was so powerfully in her feminine?
    And lastly, a video on performativity would be great. Very curious on your thoughts.

    • @HeavenSentHoney
      @HeavenSentHoney  2 года назад +16

      I view Femininity as a cult to which I simultaneously belong and am barred from. I have always been attracted to effeminate women, probably because they possess something I desire in myself. And "girl crushes" are often women in which we see a portion of ourselves, and they have achieved full-realization of our potential. We aspire to be like them, and in turn, like ourselves.

    • @HeavenSentHoney
      @HeavenSentHoney  8 месяцев назад +2

      The "best moment", or waiting for the right moment, is about knowing when your energy is best used. You can attempt to force your outcome to no avail, because the timing isn't right, and the moment is not yours. The key is being able to feel when the moment is right. Passivity is still about action (contrary to belief), it's just more about WHEN you act, when your energy is best used.
      A "real life" example could be not forcing yourself to go out partying with your friends on a day when your just not into it. You could go, sure. And maybe it would be fun. But you would be more content doing what felt natural to you, perhaps staying at home and lounging around. You do what feels good to you, don't force yourself to be something youre not. Listen to your inner voice and don't let your actions be dictated by others impressions on you. Go out and party on the day YOU say you feel like it. Thats when you hold the evening in your palms.
      Your decisions should feel fluid, without internal resistance. The only resistance you should accept is what you know is necessary for positive change.

      First off babes she would have to have a guest for that... because she is now loving in & embodying femininity...second femininity is basically being...like a receptive portal that takes in and reflects... masculinity is logic, action, organization...it is what gives...hence why a truly feminine woman becomes a reflection of her more masculine partner immediately

    i strongly dislike that this conversation is so heavily gendered. there is nothing inherently feminine about the concepts discussed, there is just a traditional but inevitably socially constructed association with it. by gendering abstract ideas or behavior we naturalize them and just reaffirm dehumanizing gender performances. the constant need to project false symbolic but essentially void binaries onto everything that could possibly be othered from another is so exhausting. just because you can equate ying and yang with “feminine” and “masculine” (whatever the fuck that even means, to me that has become an obsolete binary) doesn’t mean it’s useful, meaningful or productive in any way, it just mindlessly reproduces a questionable status quo with an agonizingly wanna-be-spiritual undertone without any real merit
