Playing this in the background while reading ‘Norwegian Wood’ by Murakami, feeling the fresh air of the night from my opened window. What a nice evening.
Recorded moslty back in 60s. First was mono but remastered as Stereo. Interesting that they select My Foolish Heart but not Waltz For Debby which is way more famous. Also the album THE PEACOCK was remastered in 2003 and we can hear the great orchestra sound in stereo. What a bless. 같은 앨범곡 Waltz For Debby대신 My Foolish Heart이 들어간 게 특별하네요.
Actually it's not a modern Jazz but more of a modal Jazz. He did this with Miles Davis and alone at the same time. (To be precise, It began with the album Kind of Blue 1959 by Miles Davis band include Bill Evans And also John Coltrane who was in this album too continues this wave.) When we mention modern Jazz, it's usually after late 70s or 80s. As far as I know. He died back in 1980.
Does anybody have any information on the specific cover of Emily at 0:19:44 ? I can't find any information of this specific cover, where 2 pianos are simultaneously playing. A duet of pianos, I can't find any covers matching this.
I could never get into Bill Evans, thinking that he was just a very good cocktail player. But the more I listen I appreciate him more now. To me, he blows hot and cold, some stuff appearing ordinary and other stuff breathtaking.
@@dmlevitt No he is not a genius. He hasn't brought anything new to the genre of jazz piano playing. I suggest that you listen to the likes of eg. Garner, Petersen or Tatum if you want to hear true innovation and individualism. As I said, he sounds like a high class lounge pianist most of the time.
"..he blows hot and cold." I agree. Sometimes he seems to sacrifice melody for excessive articulation on tangential riffs. Then there are other times, where his subtlety and nuance are uniquely simplified, while supporting the melody, he shines. "Very good cocktail player" is just terribly harsh and completely invalid. Just my two cents; no more, no less. Peace.

Ah! I used to do that too. The feel of Norwegian Wood is so much like the feel of Bill Evans' music. Especially Symbiosis Movement 2. ❤
I love Murakami !!!
I love norwegian wood the solitude feeling!
Sounds wonderful
Vinyl and CD played through my three-way floor standing speakers sounds fantastic also! I use RUclips and streaming for finding new music.

Realment el trobo molt intimista!!!

well, maybe that is growth, but the guy is a genius whatever you think.

@@frednerk8366 I listen mostly to Monk. your opinion is your opinion, that is all.

E una medicina per la mente
God could only make a man like Bill. Tell me I'm wrong, even if you don't believe in, God. Perfection in his keys.
God didn’t “make” him. Bill Evans studied and worked his tail off
dank dank
which part of the world is that picture??

The fucking advertising is longer than the songs
Waltz for derby
Es usted muy perfeccionists
poor sound quality
too much adv
