Holy crap! That climb rate was SWEEET!! Right on par with my buddy's 65 HP Rotax 582-powered PPC, visually it seems - maybe even steeper! He out-climbs me by at least DOUBLE the feet per minute. When we're launching out of our local airport that sits in a valley, he'll fly beside me for a while as I'm climbing out full-bore, then just stab the throttle and he's GONE, like a pair of JATO packs just fired off, HAHAHAHA! Makes mine feel like a gutless slug, lol. That billet crankcase is friggin GORGEOUS!! And that SOUND!! Man, that brings me right back to the late 80's & early 90's - sounds EXACTLY like a built 250cc motocross bike! Anytime I heard a sharp, crisp, "POP" out the exhaust like that at idle, I knew that guy had some money put into the engine! I can tell the compression on that thing is way up there compared to most! I want one for my trike now!! 😎 IN LOVE with that engine!!!🤩

Hey Tucker, I've been following the developments of a novel rotary engine from a startup called "liquid piston", and they've got the best power/weight ratio I've ever heard of in an internal combustion engine. They can hit 2 horsepower per pound. I'm wondering whether you'd take same power at half the weight, or double the power at the same weight given the choice?
Their engine isn't on the market yet, but they're selling development units to OEMs for evaluation. It can work with a wide range of fuels, either spark ignition or diesel. Its advantages should include much. higher reliability due to low parts count, and lower noise and vibration. Thoughts?

    Tucker,
I'd love to see depending on what you legally can do you go really high with this motor like try to get the highest altitude maybe bring a couple of oxygen bottles with you you don't have to be big. But if you could bring two or three oxygen bottles perhaps keep one in a pouch on your belly and then exchange him for pouches on your leg perhaps at 14000 ft run the O2 at that point people often fly at climb to 14,000 ft without oxygen so I believe you'll be fine it's just depending upon what you legally can do I don't know the limits for what paramotors are supposed to fly within respect to other air traffic light aircraft but you certainly would seem like a great guy to do that and I'd love to see it it depending on what's legal with respect to FAA policies or the laws regarding aviation in your area. What does that while motor and seat frame cost, which part is for looks rather than real performance? Interesting review pretty cool set up, would something like that be reasonable for The Icarus race?
