I wanted to learn TJQ for a long time. I decided to finally start, here. I have learned this form enough to practice now, thank you very much for sharing.
In order to get this right it is recommended you study the silk reeling exercises, without that, the form is just empty. This is the common consensus of the Chen Taijiquan community.

I am a layman. My respects to Tai Chi. Genuine dout is , How could these movements bring health and strength? Can't we design our own sequence? I understand as body movements In yoga we have postures they bring desired health. Can anyone clarify?
I'm only a beginner but perhaps this will help; I hope so. The healthful benefits include increased joint flexibility, massage of the internal organs through the movements, and benefits from the (unseen) synchronisation of the in- and out-breaths with the movements, similar to yoga breathing. The strength comes, paradoxically, from the _slowness_ of the movements because it takes much more effort to lift an extended or extending leg sloowwly and lower it sloowwly than to make a quick kick up and down. (Try taking ten full seconds to do each and you'll see what I mean. Your lifted thigh will be killing you and shaking like a leaf in autumn, lol.☺) It's also very hard work on the legs to maintain the wide leg stances. Notice also that very frequently almost all of the body weight is on just one leg, not both. That too is very, very hard work. When you see just a toe or heel on the ground, there's almost no body weight in it at all, including the weight of that leg itself. The sequence is designed to flow continuously from one position to another, with almost no points of stillness, and it originates from fighting moves: all of tai chi's movements can be used in fighting, but obviously at full fighting speed. Teachers say that we practise slowly to perfect the movements and our balance, so that everything will become automatic and fast if fighting. This is why designing your own sequence might be nice but it won't be tai chi because you won't be able to defend yourself with it. Tai chi is mostly about breath control with visualised circulation of internal energy; plus sychronising mind and body; plus maintaining perfect postural stability and equilibrium throughout all of the movements; plus complete relaxation throughout the routine; plus gaining the additional agility and strength. It's a very serious and immensely clever, well thought out fighting technique which the practitioners "keep secret" from casual onlookers because it just looks like a silly dad dance.😄 There's _far_ more to it than meets the eye. Apologies to all practitioners if I've missed out something important - I'm just a beginner. Hope this helps.😊
This guys Patreon is awesome. Step by step lessons are amazing.
I'm responding to this because I'm just agreeing. His Patreon takes things step by step and it's just a treasure trove of quality knowledge.
