Thanks so much Damien! It was a real trip down memory lane and gave me a renewed sense of gratitude. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate the support!
I was about to waste the rest of the evening playing a video game because I feel stuck on the documentary I’m editing. You just motivated me to close Steam and open Resolve, and to buckle down and get the work done. THANK YOU.
I am going to save this video and watch it weekly to maintain my focus. Thank you so much! I am in a valley of disappear right now and I am not that young anymore. You can't even imagine how much positivity and hope this brought to me. If you ever decide to do a workshop in Dubai and need someone for behind the scenes I am at your service.
I feel like I should have paid for this content. This is gold advice on career building. Also a good shot in the arm to keep going. Thanks Jacques. I needed this.
Thanks my bru, really grateful to have had your support through the years. Your journey has always been inspiring and I love how you just broke the internet with your wild ideas. Wish we had more time to hang out.
Love it, Thank you for this inspirational video brother. I felt i have already fallen into many of the problems you have mentioned. Forget the Likes and Focus was the main take away for me...
BRO ARE YOU GETTING YOUNGER? You look so much happier and glowing. You inspire a lot of people, trust me it's hard to get to 100K+ without screaming at the camera or doing gimmicks, and you are like the Bob Ross of Cameras. You call them 1:02 , I call them Happy Little Accidents :)
Thank you soo much for this! I really love your work, and your art of thinking! I know.. unfortunately i have never met you in person.. but i think it must be amazing to get to know you and built up a friendship with you as you mentioned 🙌🏽🔥
This give, give, give not always work. I feel like in Poland its not working. I've read once book called "Give and take". Its not only about giving, but who are you giving.
Jacques, you have no idea how encouraging these tips are to me. I have zero desire to imitage trends for the algorithm, but I care deeply about the work I make. Then, "winning relationships between friends". Yeah. That hits hard. Actually that’s how I’ve tried to go about it and it’s not even that hard. You meet people, and the ones you get along with the best and share creative visions, you keep working with. And it’s actually enjoyable. Finally, I wholeheartedly agree with the values you talk about. As a Christian, I deeply believe in these values anyway, but it’s so encouraging to hear that living by them actually pays off. P.S.: I think your music selection was absolutely amazing. Good ad for musicbed, even before the ad read. ;)
I can't begin to tell you how on time this video is. THANK YOU! I've been feeling stuck for awhile and the advice you shared here really hit home. I love the humility part, too!
How do you set these options on your sony cameras? Which do you turn on? Shading comp. Chromatic abberation comp. Distortion comp. Breathing comp. Steadyshot
Mic Drop. This is so inspiring my friend. I needed to hear this. After knowing you for many years I can testify of your kindness and heart. Bless you brother.
No. 5 hit me right in the gut. I used to work a lot with a friend whom I swore I’d never work with again. But to be honest, the projects we did all turned out awesome. I remember the last big project was kind of a pain because he and I built up some tension, and we almost had an argument in front of the whole crew. Now I realize that was because we were pretty angry with each other since we hadn’t been spending enough time together and hadn’t taken care of our friendship. We met last week, and he was super grateful to see me. Honestly, we had great times when we saw each other almost every day. We never argued, and the projects (although small and not very important, and never released) went smoothly. We just had a great time. You encouraged me to take more steps toward him and to repair the bridge I was trying to burn. Thanks! :)
Aaah man I'm so happy to hear that! I've had a few of those experiences, things can get messy when you work closely together but if you can put the work aside and keep the friendship that's the biggest win!
With all the respect, the last tips has to be taken with a grain of salt. Some clients can be so toxic, it makes you hate your own job and question your own abilities. I've had to get rid of some people along my career, and I'll NEVER regret it. The inner peace that came with it is priceless.
Oh yes totally agree with you! By burning bridges I'm referring to intentionally telling someone to "f--k off". It's possible to "let people go" without voicing your true intent. I've written some nasty e-mails in my life and I've always regretted it. These days when I write a mail I always check with someone who is not "in it" to give me an objective opinion. I guess it depends on the situation but I'm going to try and preserve the peace as far as possible!
Thank you for constant inspiration, Jacques! You're one of the reasons I still push hard through all the struggles in my life to make the carrier in filmmaking that I'd really enjoy!
Valuable as always! The difference between now and all your other advise videos is that it hits me at a time where I’m trying to implement most of these Tipps especially the one where Social media will not affect my work. I’m in Transition
So glad to hear that! Mate I can give you so many examples of how Social Media slowed me down. It's also the reason I moved from Instagram to RUclips because it slots in well with the long form content I enjoy making!
Amazing advice Jacques. I'm curious. What camera system were you shooting on 15 years ago? Also... That wedding on the sand dunes wasn't from 15 years ago was it?
Thanks so much! I started on the Canon T2i then switched to 5Dmk2, then got the C100 and also tried the Panasonic GH3 but when the Sony A7s came out I bought into the brand and since 2015 been shooting on Sony. The wedding on the sand dunes was actually in 2021 (It was an isolated case and I said yes because I've always wanted to travel to that destination and we stayed in the craziest hotel). I shared footage from that wedding because my weddings in 2016 didn't look nearly as good back then haha.
@@jacques_crafford canon was King in those early days. Now if you have any of that early footage to show it would be interesting to see your progress over the years. Unless you’ve buried any and all evidence of the creator you used to be haha
Haha indeed! I've been thinking about making a video like this for the longest time but I felt like I had to mature a bit more and it felt like 15 years was a good time. Appreciate your support mate!
Youssef! Thanks bro that means so much to me! You've been supporting me from the start and for that I'm really grateful. Maybe we get to meet up one day, I'm going to hold thumbs for that :)
Awesome video… awesome advice… you are one of the best inspirations out there for filmmakers like myself that are just starting this journey. Thank you for this outstanding video!

Great Points! Have you placed a nicotine/tobacco pouch inside your left cheek? In India, many people do the same.
Thanks mate! Haha no I've never done that

Your wedding were great. Sad thing that there is no mark after that.
Thanks mate! Not sure what the market is like that now but it seems very competitive :)
@@jacques_crafford I dunno. I gave up in 2020, but I was into photography, not filming.
