I am glad you liked my video. I watched a RUclips video a few weeks ago of Gilda Grey singing a song on TV in the 50s with a guy playing a baby grand piano. She was in an evening gown. She looked and sounded great!
@@mikeywilson2768 I know the RUclips video you are talking about. It was taken from a 1952 episode of the Liberace show. Gilda and Liberace were performing St Louis Blues. There is one more good clip of Gilda performing in Rose Marie (1936).
I just found a great photo on line from 1927 of an old movie theater that once stood on my corner and the film on the marquee is Aloma of the South Seas.
Tengo esta grabación en un disco de 78 r.p.m. que era del padre de mi padre (un italiano que gustaba de la ópera y de música popular de la buena). El disco tiene sello RCA Victor color negro (en Argentina), el mismo que aparece en el vídeo que usted ha subido, con la única diferencia de que la etiqueta del disco está escrita en español. Debajo del título de la canción ("Aloma") dice: "De Aloma". De modo que pensé era de una película (movie). Investigué en internet y me encontré con que la película se titula "Aloma of the South Seas". Hermosa canción. ¡Saludos!
