Great video! What is the green thing on the bottom of the pole you used when you spray painted the cup? It looks like some sort of stand. Also, any update on how well the cup has held up since the video has been posted?
Hello! Yes, the green part on the bottom is the sand that extends out. Very helpful when drying the cups. The cup itself is holding up great! Almost two years later and all the stones are still on and my nieces love using it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you so much! It really is so much prettier in person. Pictures and videos can't do it justice. But I love that it's held up so well with lots of use from my SIL and her girls ❤️. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I was wondering: I am going to bling some YETI 14 oz rambler coffee mugs. They are of course stainless steel with matt colored outsides...Would I scuff up those outsides with sandpaper and prep them in that fashion?
I'm sorry for the delayed response. Yes, you'd want to lightly scuff the surface prior to blinging it. That way the stones can adhere properly to the surface.
I used a fine glitter but it's all personal preference, really. You could use a medium or chunky, but you'd want to make sure that you really got the glitter pressed flat and that you sealed it well with clear spray paint. I hope this helps!
It really depends on the size cup and stones and design you choose. It can take about 14 to 25 hours to complete depending on all those factors. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
That is a great question! I don't have the exact amount of time but can say that because I used SS16 for this project instead of SS20, it did take a little more time. I do prefer using SS16, however, so it was worth the extra time. I would guestimate it took about 14-16 hours total. I enjoy working on these types of projects while I sit and watch movies/shows so it feels like I'm being productive while just watching tv 😊. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing the videos with us 🌸. Could you tell me what is the size or the model of the Cricut you use for the name decal you use? Thank you so much in advance 🌼
Thank you so much! I use the Cricut Maker but you could also use the Cricut Joy, Cricut Air 2 or Maker 3 to cut vinyl, along with many other machines from other companies. Are you looking to purchase a machine to cut vinyl?
If you're going to use the traditional modge podge, I would suggest that you let it fully cure so it isn't tacky to the touch before going further. I'd also recommend using the matte version and once it's fully cured you can even lightly sand it so that the rhinestones can adhere better as well. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have two cupholders that I purchased here: www.etsy.com/listing/845675857/angled-cup-cradle?ref=yr_purchases and here: www.etsy.com/listing/845678259/cup-cradle?ref=yr_purchases I love them and highly recommend them!
Thank you so much! The cup is still going strong and my SIL still uses it often! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching and commenting!
The mod podge spray paint I used was essentially a clear matte spray paint that I used to seal the spray paint color on the cup as well as provide a matte finish for the stones to be adhered to. The mod podge I used on the bottom of the tumbler was only to apply the glitter and therefore, not required. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
You can seal it with clear spray paint but it's not necessary. You can also epoxy over the paint but the gems will make the cup heavier as it is and so to keep the weight down, I just stuck with the spray paint. I know this was a late response so hopefully you were able to figure something out for your project! I'd love to see how it turned out if you attempted it!
Great question! You do NOT want to seal it once completed as it will lose its luster/sparkle. If, for example, you were to epoxy over the stones, they lose their dimension and it essentially looks like you just used specifically placed glitter. If you adhere your stones with the proper type of glue, don't soak your cup in water, don't drop your cup, etc... your stones should remain intact on your tumbler. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!! 😁
Hello! I purchased them off of Etsy. You can actually find the angled cup holder here: www.etsy.com/listing/845675857/angled-cup-cradle?ref=yr_purchases Or the larger version here: www.etsy.com/listing/845678259/cup-cradle?ref=yr_purchases I absolutely recommend them as well as the seller! Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting 😁
As long as you aren't soaking your cup (which you shouldn't do with a bling tumbler as it can cause stones to come off), it should hold up. This cup is going on almost 2 years old now and it's still holding up great! I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I would try looking up decals from sellers on Etsy. I bet there are sellers who take custom orders or you could find stickers with names and purchase them to be put on the tumbler. I hope this helps! I'm sorry for the delayed response!
I wasn't able to locate it on their website, unfortunately 😔. It looks like they're switching to these charms that you put together yourself..... becreateful.com/collections/customizable-rhinestone-charms/products/customizable-color-swatch-charms . I thought the color chart was a great idea. Not sure why they discontinued it 🤷♀️.
Great question! You have to make sure that it's an acrylic cup, otherwise the stones can fall off. But yes, the process would then be the same. Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have acetone that I use to remove my polish and dip powder, so that's what I use but you can use Acetone that you get a hardware store as well. I hope this helps!
Interesting! I'd love to hear more about usage. Did you soak the cup? Put it in the dishwasher? Do you live in a typically humid climate? Anything else that could affect the adhesion of the stones?
Exactly what @beebeej1 said! I didn't see it, just used a great adhesive, took my time and the stones are still all standing as of Christmas! Thanks for watching and commenting!
The stones and cup are still doing great! I'll try to see if I can do an update video on some of the cups I've made and how they're holding up with extended use. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great question! I believe it took between 14 and 16 hours but I'm not entirely certain. I know that using the SS16 stones will take longer than using SS20s but I preferred the look of the smaller stones in the end. I usually working on bling projects while binge watching tv so that time goes by rather quickly. I hope this helped though! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hello! Sorry for the delayed response! For the name I used a multi sized pack so I could fit it specifically to the width of the line. Hope this helps!
Great question! The stones and glue adhere better to the matte, so that's what I recommend. That's not to say you CAN'T use gloss, just that I feel matte is a safer route for keeping the stones on.
can you pleae tell me how to do the lettering ? i have no idea what i am doing and i dont see anyone explain how to get the letters . i would appreciate it please
The lettering I cut out vinyl with my Cricut machine. I then placed it on the cup after I spray painted it and then I was able to bling on top of it. If you didn't want to do a name but wanted to do a saying, you can find a lot of waterproof/vinyl stickers on Etsy, Amazon, etc... and you could bling over those if you don't have access to a cutting machine. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey! I don't have a link to the exact version but you can get something similar (and probably better) here: amzn.to/3kaGcNb I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I actually have to give full credit to another designer. I found her through a RUclips tutorial and it was so affordable, I just purchased it off her etsy site instead of trying to make one. I purchased it in two styles. This one: www.etsy.com/listing/845678259/cup-cradle?click_key=961676a0acb0836b0c6a4cb91e9166c92cad16d6%3A845678259&click_sum=47e23262&ref=shop_home_active_7&sts=1 and this one: www.etsy.com/listing/845675857/angled-cup-cradle?click_key=db8c9ce6e049170ecefdafeb663d8e5e732191ce%3A845675857&click_sum=97f6592f&ref=shop_home_active_22&sts=1 I hope this helps! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I think it was only available temporarily. I haven't been able to find it on the site again. I'm so sorry! Hopefully they'll come out with something similar again soon!
Hello! I used roughly 3 packs of the be createful flatback rhinestones in SS16 plus a multi sized pack for fillers. You can find the SS16 stones here: becreateful.com/collections/flatback-rhinestones/products/flatback-foil-violet-lavender-glass-rhinestones?variant=12809856647267 It definitely takes a little more than you'd think. SS20 will definitely take up a little more room as well....
Why just not push in the Nerf ball in so far that way you not need tape the ball itself will create a seal around the cup! Maybe that will work better! Thanks so much for Sharing very Beautiful Bling Cup!
Yes, that's another good suggestion. I wanted to make sure the cup was secure and wouldn't fall off the stick, which is why I pushed it in as deep as I did. I've since found a great product to use that's silicone and protects the inside lip of the cup (something similar to this: amzn.to/3VTfJAT in case you're interested). I'm glad you like the cup! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Another option would be to use mod podge and add a glitter base in the matching color of the stone you're working with. It would also add sparkle in between the stones. You'd want to make sure that it was fully cured before proceeding with the stones. You can always hand paint as well. The risk you run there is having an uneven coat and working around the lumps and unevenness when blinging the tumbler.
Finally someone showing how to do do the bottom of the tumbler!! Thank you girl ❤
I'm SO glad you found this to be helpful! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thanks! Best tutorial I've seen so far. Now I feel confident to give it a try.
It is so neat...turned out very Beautiful! Thank you for sharing...

Good detailed explanations, I'm just getting started to try my first. Thank you.

Thanks.
I used a fine glitter but it's all personal preference, really. You could use a medium or chunky, but you'd want to make sure that you really got the glitter pressed flat and that you sealed it well with clear spray paint. I hope this helps!
Lovely!!! how long does it take to do one tumbler like that? Thanks for the inspiration!
It really depends on the size cup and stones and design you choose. It can take about 14 to 25 hours to complete depending on all those factors. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Do you ever sand colored items before applying rhinestones?
Very pretty but his long did it take for you to put all of those rhinestones on it?
That is a great question! I don't have the exact amount of time but can say that because I used SS16 for this project instead of SS20, it did take a little more time. Lovely ❤️❤️❤️

So if you use paint and primer do you still have to use mod podge if i am using jelly rhinestones and resin glass rhinestones????

Hi do you know if they still have that chart for sale?
Good question, I’d like one.
I wasn't able to locate it on their website, unfortunately 😔. If you seal it it won't shine...if you use a good glue stones won't come off when washed.

Spray paint smells awful there has to be a better option! The smell doesn't just go away! Does it?
