Nah, it is. The hands are always fun to watch, and some of us can understand things as they're explained in the anime/manga. Honestly I just watch this in case I missed something, or to see someone else explain it in their own words, but I think Gege explains it well enough for me to understand the first time. The biggest issue I have is that sometimes he frontloads a lot of info. Not to be arrogant, but while it's never too much that I can't understand it, I know for a fact that it's way too much for most other people. The best suggestion I have in such cases is to not be afraid to go back and reread the info as many times as it takes for you to understand it, and when that fails, videos like this come in clutch.

You are right, I'm sure I can understand all these by just reading but I find it intriguing when it's explained as if it's in a textbook. Gege does this often but being able to access in a video documentary form is one of my favorite ways to learn anything. Gege made a good power system. I like studying it like it's science.

Gojo does make the idea of overpowering domain amplification by strengthening your cursed technique make sense. From what he says in chapter 85, "If you try to neutralize my technique with your amplification, then I'll counter by strengthening my cursed technique." Makes it nice and simple to understand that a certain threshold based on the output of the cursed technique needs to be gone over for amplification to nullify the technique, and that the threshold can always be increased or decreased at any particular point in time. Whether or not gojo can increase and decrease the strength of limitless based on certain amplification output would imply that not all aspects of the technique requires maximum output to counter domain amplification, and instead focusing on certain parts of the body to conserve cursed energy. I think a little more depth would be really cool to have mentioned in the manga, but as it stands, the current explanation of amplification works completely fine.
Its sort of like a domain clash seeing as domain amplification is applying your domain to yourself, and a domain is just applying your technique to an entire space such as a barrier so if your technique is stronger than their domain amplification, than it would overpower them in the same way a stronger domain would overpower a weaker domain

Domain amplification is only a draw back only if you have a cursed technique to begin with. For anyone who doesn't have a cursed technique this is an absolute game changer.

A domain has a couple aspects, two of which are the sure-hit effect and a cursed technique on which the effect is applied. A simple domain looks to create a battle of domains and negate the sure-hit effect. Domain Amplification on the other hand is a domain without a cursed technique imbued into it, so any CT that comes in contact with the DA gets absorbed or better said, poured into the domain. That’s how they were hitting Gojo, his infinity was getting negated by getting pulled into their domain amplifications to fill them.
I believe this information to be wrong, Although both Jogo and Hanami were trying their best to nullify Gojo's technique... you can see them both fail to do so, Mainly because as explained in the video, It is simply a battle between you and them to determine whose technique is more refined... Reason I say this is because In the Manga, Higuruma uses his domain amplification instinctively against Sukuna, Yet Sukuna is still capable of using his technique without any issues, the only effect it had was directly into Higuruma, when said attacks did "less" damage than they would've of otherwise.

Similarly, Higuruma's domain is only able to absorb so much of dismantle so quickly before he gets hit. Sukuna on the other hand is so skilled that he is almost instantenously able to negate infinity when using DA.

I haven't read much shounen series after Bleach ended, so I don't think much about recent shounen battle series before all the jjk memes. My first impression of JJK is that it looked really inspired by bleach cause of the domain expansion resemblance to bankai. But after reading the manga, the power system in jjk is actually really robust and unique on it's own

This method is much easier for Sukuna to use as well. And it weakens Gojo's punches since they are blue infused. Sukuna literally would've had a easier time Switching from DA to CT rather than using Mahoraga. Sukuna's domain would've never collapsed.
He was using DA in the domain clashes, but every time he wasn't coming into contact with Gojo, he'd switch to Ten Shadows to have Megumi's soul shoulder the adaptation for Mahoraga.

That technique makes a lot of sense, the only weird thing about it is that gojo confirmed that it's NOT actually a barrier technique. What lead him to that conclusion was witnessing sukuna use it even though the part of the part of his brain responsible for barrier techniques was destroyed by unlimited void. We Know domains consist of two things : a barrier and an innate domain imbued within it. This is HEAVY speculation but perhaps DA is not the barrier but the innate domain, only stripped of the innate technique. This would require the user to be able to manifest such an innate domain, explaining why it's significantly harder to do than simple domain, which is a barrier. That would also explain why everyone shown using DA are proper domain expansion users? Let me know your thoughts
Right, maybe you can compare simple domain and domain amplification with barrier and barrier-less domain expansion. The one without barrier is harder to achieve. To add to it, I think that why barriers make it easier is consistent with the theme of jjk power system with risk and benefit. Making a barrier not justlimits the area of effect to specific range, but also adding a condition to it. Sukuna with his sheer of curse energy and understanding of domain, can expand his domain without needing to make a condition. So barriers are essentially a form of restrictions, akin to binding vow, rather than a simple aoe

You maintain this domain without creating a physical barrier but you can no long use your technique because you cant hold water without a container for it. Why not everybody using DA. Simply because not everybody can expand their own domain let alone using other applications of it. This comes into questions? Can sukuna use DA and his technique at the same time? He wasnt shown doing while attacking Gojo, probably because unlike Malevolent Shrine stay static, DA allows sukuna to move around, probably DA needs an binding vow of some short.

Here's a question that confuses me quite a bit: when fighting Jogo for the first time, Gojo brings Yuji into his domain expansion, but Yuji is unaffected. However, I saw a clip where Gojo used his domain expansion around a bunch of regular humans being attacked by transfigured humans, but he can only use it for an extremely short period of time so as not to affect civilians. So, can he choose who the domain expansion affects or not? I'm not caught up to the anime at all so might be a dumb question but figured I'd put it here anyway
If yuji or mahito were to use this, would it nullify there techniques as well. More specifically yuji, because as far as I know, he can't deactivate his power, if he punches something with cursed energy he uses his technique.
Gojo increased his technique's output to match their DA but their out put was low to counter infinity fully. In the manga Sukuna neutralized gojo's infinity easily

In a nutshell: Wrap your domain expansion around yourself like a suit so that you can overpower a Cursed Technique, ... it acts like a Domain Clash, and with Gojo's scenario since he was far stronger, Gojo was able to protect against Domain Amplification.

Also, SD is only for defense, not attack. SD also negates sure hit of a domain expansion, while DA is only for cursed technique.

Sukuna cleave and dismantle is a technique that cuts matter or as well disintegrate them into dust. Using at base would injure gojo drastically but may not kill him totally when using infinity but to bypass infinity Sukuna used the world dismantle that can cut thru space and existence which means you can't heal yourself unless you can manipulate spacetime fabric to reverse the cut which gojo can't.
Does this mean Yuuji could beat Gojo by learning Doman Amplification? Since he has no cursed tecnique yet and he already relies on his hands, Yuuji With DA sounds like a tough opponent for a Limitless User.
FBE uses CE to instantly attack CT that comes into contact with you. If you’ve ever seen hunterxhunter, think of it like when killua used Godspeed to instantly catch the dart fish thing. The moment something comes into contact with ur FBE, it’ll be attacked. It’s like a defense made of offensive CE. Domain Amp envelops the user in an empty domain where techniques are drawn into and nullified. I don’t rlly have good analogies for this one, but it’s like a sort of vacuum that constantly surrounds the user. A technique that enters this vacuum will slowly get the power sucked away, but if it’s too powerful it’ll still get through. This one isn’t strictly defensive, and can be used against things like barriers, constructs, or concepts unlike FBE. FBE attacks CT in order to defend u. DA nullifies it to either defend u or assist u in attacks.
@@earn6890*Manga Spoilers, Again* I think Gojo was referring to this when he said Sukuna would win without using 10S. The DA and four arm form combo is fatal, especially if Sukuna goes all out. The only reason Sukuna didn't do that, is because he had to fight the students afterwards. If he did do that, he would have killed Gojo for sure, but he would be wounded. Possibly wounded enough for the students to take him down. So, he saved his four arm form for the students and used Mahoraga against Gojo to gain the space slash. (Sorry if this was too long, I just kept writing my thoughts, lol.)
Yup, you're spot on. Sukuna in Heian form can just brute force his win against Gojo with his increased energy reserves and physicality. He'll have a stronger presence in their melees and he will have a higher output for his domain expansions as well as more attempts at summoning it. Gojo just wouldn't be able to keep up in a straight fight but Sukuna is prudent enough to manage his resources, namely Megumi's body and Mahoraga, for the coming battle. In fact, they might have had a better shot at beating Sukuna if they opened with Gojo, ambushed Sukuna midfight to force him to use his Heian form before he could perfect the anti-limitless slash, have Gojo retreat, rest, and study the fight with his six eyes, let the others sacrifice themselves and wear Sukuna down, and then finish it off with Gojo + a heavy hitter or two but that obviously comes with such a big sacrifice. That strategy only works in hindsight and in theory though because the group wasn't entirely sure about the transformation and his plans with Mahoraga.
No he wont. He doesn't know how to beat Gojo that's why when he is shown Mahoraga by megumi, he said" Megumi, you showed me the way". Gojo was already rag dolling Sukuna by using blue, red and black flash at the same time, Sukuna specifically worry of red. Just because he has a chance to negate limitless with DA doesn't mean he can win a taijutsu fight. Gojo just doesnt know how many tricks up his sleeve that sukuna is capable of, because he doesnt revert back in his old form so his potential is hidden.
It was, so DA *can* surpass a technique but a technique can also overpower DA, so Limitless was pumping out enough to still thwart them. Similar to how Gojo just amped Limitless when he killed Hanami, he just completely overpowered the DA.

The way I see it is Simple Domain is just a blank (no technique imbued, except for a very simple anti-CT effect, like a grounding meditation where you try to empty your head), durability-focused domain whose sole purpose is to trigger the "domain clash" situation where competing domains cancel out each other's sure-hit. Domain Amplification is, imo, a Simple Domain that trades range for strength and mobility.

Before I started reading/watching jjk and I didn’t really know anything about it one of my friends who watched jjk said that domain amplification is when you just make your domain expansion stronger which i believed it was until I started reading jjk myself that o realized he was completely wrong
Important to note, when you use your amplification, sure it negates your cursed technique, but not your cursed energy. So you'd be like Yuji who has no cursed technique but still has energy.

Here's a question that confuses me quite a bit: when fighting Jogo for the first time, Gojo brings Yuji into his domain expansion, but Yuji is unaffected. However, I saw a clip where Gojo used his domain expansion around a bunch of regular humans being attacked by transfigured humans, but he can only use it for an extremely short period of time so as not to affect civilians. So, can he choose who the domain expansion affects or not? I'm not caught up to the anime at all so might be a dumb question but figured I'd put it here anyway

Gojo increased his technique's output to match their DA but their out put was low to counter infinity fully. In the manga Sukuna neutralized gojo's infinity easily
alright, lets say i put domain amplification on my hand, but make the domain amiplification *slightly* bigger than my hand. if i put my palm up to my eyes, could i see inside the domain...? since arent some domains alot bigger on the inside then they look on the outside..?
In a nutshell: Wrap your domain expansion around yourself like a suit so that you can overpower a Cursed Technique, ... it acts like a Domain Clash, and with Gojo's scenario since he was far stronger, Gojo was able to protect against Domain Amplification.

DA looks more advanced in which you still can do physical attack against the opponent just like Jogo/Hanami vs Gojo.
both simple domain and DA can weaken techniques, but DA is stronger, since it's more compressed. However, since simple domain is bigger, it means it can protect allies, while DA only protect you. Also, SD is only for defense, not attack. SD also negates sure hit of a domain expansion, while DA is only for cursed technique.

It's not like Gojo used Blue, Red or any other CT to break Hanami's horns. As stated by Jogo, Gojo was just using his martial arts n cursed energy manipulation while DA was active . So what was exactly Gojo waiting for? Couldn't he have weakened Hanami the same way earlier? Domain Amplification or sh|t what did it exactly do on the defence part? Can you explain gojos infinity being cut by Sukuna?
Sukuna cleave and dismantle is a technique that cuts matter or as well disintegrate them into dust.
Using at base would injure gojo drastically but may not kill him totally when using infinity but to bypass infinity
Sukuna used the world dismantle that can cut thru space and existence which means you can't heal yourself unless you can manipulate spacetime fabric to reverse the cut which gojo can't.

No falling blossom just reduces the damage from the sure hit. DA cancels out any CT or sure hit in a domain but you can't use your own CT.
FBE uses CE to instantly attack CT that comes into contact with you. If you’ve ever seen hunterxhunter, think of it like when killua used Godspeed to instantly catch the dart fish thing. The moment something comes into contact with ur FBE, it’ll be attacked. It’s like a defense made of offensive CE.
Domain Amp envelops the user in an empty domain where techniques are drawn into and nullified. I don’t rlly have good analogies for this one, but it’s like a sort of vacuum that constantly surrounds the user. A technique that enters this vacuum will slowly get the power sucked away, but if it’s too powerful it’ll still get through. This one isn’t strictly defensive, and can be used against things like barriers, constructs, or concepts unlike FBE.
FBE attacks CT in order to defend u. DA nullifies it to either defend u or assist u in attacks.

I think Gojo was referring to this when he said Sukuna would win without using 10S. The DA and four arm form combo is fatal, especially if Sukuna goes all out. The only reason Sukuna didn't do that, is because he had to fight the students afterwards. If he did do that, he would have killed Gojo for sure, but he would be wounded. Possibly wounded enough for the students to take him down. So, he saved his four arm form for the students and used Mahoraga against Gojo to gain the space slash. (Sorry if this was too long, I just kept writing my thoughts, lol.)
Yup, you're spot on. Sukuna in Heian form can just brute force his win against Gojo with his increased energy reserves and physicality. He'll have a stronger presence in their melees and he will have a higher output for his domain expansions as well as more attempts at summoning it. Gojo just wouldn't be able to keep up in a straight fight but Sukuna is prudent enough to manage his resources, namely Megumi's body and Mahoraga, for the coming battle. In fact, they might have had a better shot at beating Sukuna if they opened with Gojo, ambushed Sukuna midfight to force him to use his Heian form before he could perfect the anti-limitless slash, have Gojo retreat, rest, and study the fight with his six eyes, let the others sacrifice themselves and wear Sukuna down, and then finish it off with Gojo + a heavy hitter or two but that obviously comes with such a big sacrifice. That strategy only works in hindsight and in theory though because the group wasn't entirely sure about the transformation and his plans with Mahoraga.
No he wont. He doesn't know how to beat Gojo that's why when he is shown Mahoraga by megumi, he said" Megumi, you showed me the way". Gojo was already rag dolling Sukuna by using blue, red and black flash at the same time, Sukuna specifically worry of red. Just because he has a chance to negate limitless with DA doesn't mean he can win a taijutsu fight. Gojo just doesnt know how many tricks up his sleeve that sukuna is capable of, because he doesnt revert back in his old form so his potential is hidden.

It was, so DA *can* surpass a technique but a technique can also overpower DA, so Limitless was pumping out enough to still thwart them. Similar to how Gojo just amped Limitless when he killed Hanami, he just completely overpowered the DA.

The way I see it is Simple Domain is just a blank (no technique imbued, except for a very simple anti-CT effect, like a grounding meditation where you try to empty your head), durability-focused domain whose sole purpose is to trigger the "domain clash" situation where competing domains cancel out each other's sure-hit. Domain Amplification is, imo, a Simple Domain that trades range for strength and mobility.

I really dislike domain amplifications because it just seems like a write around for gojo. Why wouldn't they use this anywhere else? Sukana slashes you? Domain amplification. Fighting Mahito? Domain amplification. Todo tries to swap you? Domain amplification. But they only use it for Gojo?
