Thank you!! Kizomba made my relationship burn in love again. We are together 6 years, right now we behave like teenagers again. We fell in love again. Last years we spent all time watching movies, when we started to learn from you our life changed - all the time we are dancing. Thank you so very much, you don't even know how thankful we are. Truly I can say you unintentionally helped us to rescue our love. Hugs from Poland.
Oh my God, we feel so blessed to know that we could touch your life's so positively 😀 Thank you so much for your kind words and keep dancing and loving each other 😁 Joao and Vera!
@@JoaoVeraDance Im surprised you respond. Thank you :) We are waiting for next your next video to keep learning. Can I ask how long you're dancing? Is kizomba and salsa the only type and the first one?
@@danam5952 hi! Sorry for the late late reply! I dance for more than 25 years. My begging was with ballroom dancing. I've been teaching Kizomba, Bachata, salsa and ballroom and I have a background study in many forms of dance like ballet, hip hop, modern dance, etc 😁😁😁 Thank you for following and keep dancing and loving each other 😁😁😁🙏
Hello and thank you for sharing your Kizomba basic and introductory steps. Self isolation has been very difficult to deal without the opportunity to dance. I've forgotten steps so decided to go back to basics and start again. You've been of great help and it is truly appreciated. Many thanks--I look forward to more in the future.
Hi John we are so happy to help you :-) If you are interested in learning more about the kizomba basics (and more), check our online course at www.KizombaOnFire.com Any question let me know :-)
We are preparing for a play and my role includes a classical dance and I got to your video... I hope I can do well with the girl im gonna dance with im scarred af lol... Thank you for this video
Hi, we wish you all the best to your dance and any help you need let me know 😀 Also if you can send us your video later would be great! We would love to see it! 👍
Yeah, I can see that. "Will she be able to tell that I'm still learning? Will she let me dance that close to her? Will I give her the wrong lead? Will my mind suddenly go blank?" Unfortunately, some girls are real b++ches to dance with. What encourages me is something that happened to Fred Astaire. He was intimidated by no one -- except Eleanor Powell. Then he was cast with her in "Broadway Melody Of 1940". He hinted at his nervousness to her. Powell smiled and said something like "hey, let's just have a good time!" That put Astaire at ease, and the result was dance magic. It could help if you and your partner talk it out before your first practice. If she's a b++ch, be brave and tell the teacher that this pairing is not likely to work. You might get dropped, or she might get dropped, but it's better than a dance partnership that cannot work. But like Danny Kaye sang in "White Christmas", "Even guys with two left feet come out all right if the girl is sweet." And if your partner is sweet, then talk this out with her, and your fear should go away. And dancing kizomba with you two pressed against each other will end up fun ;-) Go for it.
Hi Boa. Kizomba is a 4/4 music, so we usually count in "8". However many steps do not have the full 8 count, so we need to creat some moves to complete the remaining counting. Hope I could help 😁🙏
Hi ! In Kizomba the leader leads mainly with the body. So when in basic 3 you inverse the direction, in clock you block the follower, going back and forward. Always with your body and not with your arms👍 Hope I could be clear! Keep following, dancing and be happy 😁👍
I struggle with kizomba because I heard you don't always count in 4s and not sure if there is any need to count at all. I can see your clock step perfectly ends with 8 steps and your saida is completed with an additional 3 steps to end at 8. What is your opinion on counting in kizomba?
Hi! Great question! In Kizomba you don't need to always obbey to the 8 counts. This means that a combination can finish on the 7 or even 6 time. However in our dance studio we found it easier for the begginer studios to always create figures that are 8 times or multiples. Personally for me I also prefer that way. Hope I could help 👍👍😁🙏
I've been taught these basics, and there are some that I will not lead. The basic of every dance is left-right-left-right, or right-left-right-left. This is natural and expected. If I lead two right steps in a row, the follower will be caught off guard in a bad way, and will ask herself if this moron she's dancing with knows what the hell he's doing. If kizomba is difficult for you, then try not doing two left steps in a row, or two right steps in a row, but dance and lead what's more natural. Then when the other patterns are done, they'll come easier for you, and your partner will be more comfortable.

Could you explain the man's lead on the Basic 3 and the Clock? How do you signal that it's gonna be the Clock vs Basic3 vs something else?
