    Kate, if you are reading this, please know that I, as well as all your other fans, are extremely grateful for your existence and your proclivity to carve out your soul through your music-making. I remember you mentioning in an interview after the 2015 Chopin Competition that music is a universal language, and indeed-listening to your music made me introspect and come to terms with my own humanity with a certain profundity the likes of which I have never seen nor experienced before. No other artist has made me look at myself that deeply, and words cannot express the gratitude I have for your ability to enlighten myself vis à vis your music which is both passionate and honest to a degree that is almost unfathomable.
    Regardless of the result, you are irreplaceable and truly a miracle-and I will forever be happy to live in an age where I can listen to and stream your music at the comfort of my own devices (courtesy as well to the Géza Anda committee for making all of this possible)! I will be looking forward to your future concerts-and I hope I can attend one in-person someday! ❤

      I'm happy to see a fellow kababayan who loves Kate's music. (La lang, natuwa lang ako.) I hope one day, I can also go to her concert. Huhuhu hopefully if there's a chance especially she would perform at Singapore from time to time.

    Kate liu plays beautifully. Profoundly. I havent heard all the others to decide who are the best though.
    But i don't understand her career choices. She has a degree from curtis, which make her alumni of lang lang, yuja wang, and violinist hilary hann and ray chen. And she had a thirs prize from chopin competition, which put her in the same ranking as, for example, danil trifonov who also won the third place. What i am saying is, it looks to me that kate has way enough credentials to kickstart a recording or touring performance career. So why is she still joining competitions? She doesn't need any further prize to kickstart her career. She need a good artistic agency or manager who will set her up with renowned orchestras to start touring the world instead. And it certainly looks like ahe already had sufficient repertoire already.

    Ilya was the best of all, in my opinion. I am so glad that he goes to the finale.
    By the way it is a privilege to play together with Maestro Pletnev! And they played perfectly together. (Pletnev and Ilya) With other 2 competitors there was no harmony.

    • @kuba013
      @kuba013 4 месяца назад +3

      Of course there was no harmony and it's conductor's fault. He has to go with the soloist, that's his role. He should support soloist phrasing, vision and leave his own ego. And you can see this in many great conductors during for example Chopin competition, where maestro Boreyko or Mos (period piano compet.) were fully supportive and even change the way introduction was played to be in harmony with soloist vision. But here unfortunately and unfairly Pletnev supported only Russian pianists, for others he was ironical or even against (d-minor).

      @@kuba013Could not agree more!! It was obvious that Pletnev supported the Russian pianists, especially Shmukler.

    The touch and phrasing in Liang Dai's opening of the 1st movt was odd and unrefined that probably sealed the jury's decision quick.

    Toutes ces mimiques sont-elles indispensables pour jouer Mozart avec simplicité?
