I went to City -As school high school late 90's in lower Manhattan which was next to Hot 97 at that time .. I bumped into the legendary Dj Enuff .. it was just a what's up it made my day .. shouts too Juan EP .. Keep this going!
Keep up the good work fam! I know Combat Jack (R.I.P.) was in the game early too, but y'all are the OGs of this shit to me. I'm currently in between jobs, starting the new one Monday, but so I'm kinda sorta broke as shit at the moment...lol. But mark my words: within the next couple weeks I will be an official Patreon member. Never stop making this dope shit!
1:03:29 @ Rosenberg, is that right? I always thought Big said “it’s ok she was going away” meaning that no matter if she gave him the combo to the safe, she was getting blasted.
I love the new stu but u guys should get wider camera angles so we can see the place. Might as well have stayed on zoom otherwise. Also Rosenbergs lighting is terrible, the back lighting cuz of the window just makes him dark and blurry. Great ep otherwise stein. Enuff was the perfect guest.
Dope, dope, dope interview. Word. But as I watch this interview I can't help to wonder does Ciph and Enuff know that the powers that be that colluded to dismantle Hip-Hop from the beginning had alot to do with Hot 97 buying out 98.7 and eventually dismantling BLS from playing Hip-Hop? Along with shutting down Video Music Box on channel 31 all around '94 - '96? There's at least 20 Rock stations in NY, from Z-100 to 95.5 WPLJ, etc... but only one Hip-Hop station, when it's the number 1 music in the world. As a matter of fact Rosenberg, I've had my distaste for you since day one, and it's nothing personal, but if you can't see that there's no other mentality in the world like a Native New Yorker, hence the birth place of Hip-Hop, and all the radio personalities in the early stages of said genre were from New Gitty which gave insight from the people who were there from day one like no one else could, you would understand why we really not feeling you like that. Plus the fact that you say some really weird things like the Metallica comment at Phife's wake. Or going up against Jay Electronica over his "Synagogue of Satan" bar, when Patty Duke, which had a direct hand in Yusef Hawkins death was an employee of Hot for 20 some odd years and the higher ups protecting him because of reasons we all know. But you still haven't used your voice to speak out about that injustice. Anyways... I'm here because of Cipha Sounds and the podcast is dope, I'll go back and watch episodes I've never seen because there's great content here. But Rosenberg please homie, if you love Hip-Hop like you say you do, try and recognize the role these executives placed you in at Hot to cause dissension and confusion to undermine the original reasons why this genre was created from the grass roots. Hip-Hop was the voice of the voiceless. Now we all know what goes down in Compton to Amsterdam because of Hip-Hop, not because of the internet. Ciph keep doing your thing at Caroline's and wherever, the Hip-Hop God's are with you. And DJ Enuff is a true treasure in all this, too bad y'all are not elevated on the pedestal y'all deserve to be on in front of the whole world. And Kool DJ Red Alert 🚨 is that dude that made everyone here careers possible, directly and indirectly. Hip-Hop wouldn't be the #1 genre all over the world if it wasn't for him. And just like Mike Jeffries was Jimi Hendrix's manager, who was a CIA agent sent to control him, there's plays like this still in effect that I hope y'all are aware of. #PutRedAlertbackInHisProperPositionBeforeItsTooLate
