This was NOT a bug! Turns out the Raiju is really weird. It DOES speed up over time when chasing the player but ONLY when there are no electronics. Around electronics it will set its speed to 2.5m/s. HOWEVER if there are no electronics around the Raiju will speed up to 2.8m/s. Which means that the Raiju's top speed is SLOWER around electronics and you can technically slow the Raiju down by turning on your flashlight. Absolutely ridiculous but it's the way it works! Might still be a bug honestly but probably a featurebug.
Had my first EMF 2 from a Mare trying to turn on the light switch today, after 5700 levels. Still learning 😂

Fun fact: Yurei's ability doesn't always close a door.
They will either close or open a non-fully-closed door to use their ability and the direction is always the same for a specific door.
For example, they will always open the left side of the entrance gate of Camp Woodwind and always close the right side of it when using their ability.
49:50 I've noticed there's a bug where if you light a candle after the ghost blows it out, sometimes you get extra EMF readings. I'm not sure why it happens, but it happens all the time for me.
That's actually a significant bug when playing with less evidence because it is actually adding two counts to the blow-out count and will ruin your Onryo test if you didn't notice it.

Hi Insym! Me and my friend often get Banshees, so we love to see who's the target everytime (for some reason it's mostly him lol). We noticed the banshee can roam to other people when the target isn't in the house, but we'll have to test that out further and I'll come back to this comment when I'm sure of it. This ghost is the most fun one in multiplayer in my opinion!
Yeah when the Target/Obsession isn't in the house the Banshee defaults to a normal ghost. Big fun lol

Just Like crucifix range is higher than the normal for the Demon, the candle range for onryo should be higher than the normal range for other ghosts (or also could be same as crucifix - 1,2,3)

Had a ghost that chain-hunted me for 3x on brownstone high school and thought it was a demon :') I was playing with my brother and it started chain-hunting and I didnt know he was in the truck at the time. He's more knowledgeable on the game compared to me and we both concluded it was a demon. Turns out it was a banshee. I was terrified to say the least :)))

2500 hours is about 104 days which is a lot. I had 1.2 years of play time on ffxi. Nearly 9k hours. Not to brag. 🤣 love the content. Great channel

Since the new update, the Onryo has been acting weird in my experience, let me explain:
The last 5 games that I had an Onryo (All in professional BTW), every time it hunted at 60+ sanity, you could say well its because you were doing the Onryo test but not at all:
3 out of the 5 cases the braker was off
1 out of 5 I had a candle and barely had 30 seconds since i light it up for the first time
3 out of the 5 cases were in Edgefield
In every case the only light source in the ghost room was either the flashlight or the tier 3 UV, BUT, in all of these games I had DOTS in the ghost room, one case was tier 2 and all others tier 3, so my question is, Anyone had a similar experience? Am I missing something?
I will say this, it can blow out your lighter as you light it and it will count as a double blow out. I checked this with a T3 emf. You can switch the lighter out of your hand and if both emf readings disappear at the same time, it blew out your lighter twice while you were lighting it. The onryo honestly needs a cooldown on blowing out firelights.

If the devs stoop to the level of changing the game directly to stop people from "exploiting" it, I will have lost most of my respect for them. That's such a hostile and douchey development tactic. Like yeah, its not how the game is meant to be played, and its kind of annoying, but its one of the ways the game *can* be played. If the devs decide to ruin one of the concepts that makes this game so unique and fun (that being such vastly unique and identifiable ghosts) over something as small and inoffensive as some people playing the game in an annoying way, then the devs will be the assholes in the situation.
Just change the custom difficulty settings, man. It isn't that hard. Make it so custom diffs like that give a *normal* amount of XP for people who like playing like that.

Does anyone understand why my friends can hear me but the spiritbox and Ouija board cant 100% of the time i tried everything T-T
I’ve had that problem with the ouija board but not the spirit box. In my experience it’s just a bug.. but you can switch your audio settings to text instead of windows while using them and then switch back when you’re done.

"The devs want to make ghosts harder to figure out during a hunt". Well as long as they make them fun to figure out and not just 24 Yureis - I'm all for it.
You got the right idea. They could round-down some of the more obvious ghost traits where they aren't sure-giveaways, but they should consider making certain traits seem consistent across multiple but not all ghosts. if the fast ones could all seem like the same speed, it narrows it down to that pool and then one can test the secondary abilities, and if the slow ones could all seem like the same speed, it narrows it down to that pool as well. For instance, if Rev was as slow as slow-twin, 50-40% moroi, 10-15x aged thaye, and cold-hantu... and then chasing-Rev was as fast as youngest thaye, 0% moroi, hottest-hantu, and electronic-raiju, then one hunt wouldn't do it anymore for thaye/moroi. You could still get a rev, but only if you were detected once, you couldn't tell based on only slow or only fast.

I'm trying to do them a favor by saying if you can't convey their thoughts in a way that makes it easy for people to read, maybe they should cut back on how many thoughts they're choosing to vomit into the world.

People xp farming camp woodwind has no impact on your ability to enjoy the game the way you want to play it. Prestige levels are basically just cosmetic rewards anyway (nobody really needs more than 3 gear loadouts in the store), and if someone wants to go up to prestige 30 by farming custom difficulties, why should that bother anybody else?
Nerfing ghosts to make them harder to identify on hunts just because some people are farming prestige levels is like patching out difficult to perform glitches just because speedrunners use them to beat games quickly. Prestige 1-78 here and it doesn't bother me at all.
the way insym uses "roam" to refer to both the ghost changing rooms and it actually roaming bothers me

Phasmophobia needs little creepy ghost events like when looking in a mirror you see the ghost behind you, or banging on a door but when you go there nothing there, or the ghost crawling under the bed in the corner of your eye, the ghost peeking around corners stuff like that

Important for Yurei - When you aren't sure whether you closed the front door or if Yurei did it with its ability, grab the EMF reader. The Yurei ability will leave an EMF 2 on the front door (two EMF 2 readings if you are using the Tier 3 EMF Reader). This is the only way for an EMF 2 reading to be found on the front door.

I really don't see why the ghost being told by their hunts is a bad thing like power leveling to tier 2 equipment and you learn the ghost better for normal matches like the 12x farming on the camp woodwind map
Alternatively, the devs can add more gameplay instead of reducing ghosts to be identical. By making ghosts almost indistinguishable you make the game way harder and more boring, I agree with Insym. So a good alternative is keep the ghosts noticeably different but add more gameply beyond the investigation
Man 2500 hours is crazy! Your grind is real and you deserve the success you have achieved and will continue to reach in the future 😊
It would be really convenient if they made the candle radius increase with tier for the Onryo (4, 5 and 6 meters for tiers 1, 2 and 3, respectively). Or range could be raised to 6 meters regardless of tier.
How it is now is not the worst thing in the world, just a bit inconvenient for no reason.
i got 2 mimics yesterday lol
one was mimicking a goryo or a yokai and attacked me when i was verbally assaulting it at 85% sanity lol
but yea i think it was a yokai mimic because my buddy was a bit lower sanity so i think i was below the threshold, and i noticed the orbs and i was like "this behavior is odd, is it a mimic?"
also, we went in to grab the bone and leave so i could get a quick level up, and i decided to spin the music box as a joke. the ghost started hunting so i hid, and i straight went L from death note and crossed off every single ghost type and figured out it was a thaye just from its speed alone and nothing else lol

I don't really see a problem with those who cheese. Like, yeah, they "speedrun" the game, but how is it affects me personally? I play normally with my friends and I don't even interact with them in any way
Having a ghost that isn't affected by the smudge stick could actually be extremely interesting.
Deogen nerfed hiding spots because now there's a very slim chance you'll die if you instantly hide.
This new ghost would nerf smudge sticks and buff salt because now if you want to loop & smudge, you'd have to set up salt piles as a safety precaution to slow it down while you run away since smudging will not save you.
just fyi insym, getting the ghost wrong caps you at 6x rewards. So you don't lose any reward if playing on insanity or below.
this is what they could change about CWW12.97x instead of a heavy handed punishment to ghost identification tbh.

I think the Onryo issue comes from it blowing out the lighter sometimes; even if you’re using hold and right click the candle. Since it’s any firelight that counts it throws off the count. It’s pretty annoying.
Another morning filled with Insym goodness! Absolutely love your videos dude! For the Raiju ghost it did speed up when it was going around the table. As you could hear it speed up.
4:55 I was playing with some friends (new to the game) and slowly explaining how to set up an Onryo test. My friend puts THREE candles on the Cruzi, Onryo blows all of them out and i die ;-;
Since then we only take one candle inside xd
Easy solution to the "cheesing" would be giving multiplier depending on how many succesful runs you've had in row with the same difficulty setting. I don't want my game to punish me for playing the way I want because it's "exploiting" and something as simple as this would satisfy everyone

But my favorite ghost of all time is Myling.

I don't believe this is true, but i want to say there might be something to it's roaming ability that'll let it do it when target isn't in map. I'm quite sure it can either target the target, or if not available will kill anyone and everyone equally, making it important to get at least one hunt with multitarget in a 2player, and either one or two hunts with multitarget across instances where every member was in the map in at least one of the two hunts.

I feel like the devs need to teach or put a way to discover special abilities IN GAME. Cause right now, at least as far as I’m aware the only way to learn about them is by looking them up or watching a video. I’ve got about a hundred hours in and most of these I just didn’t know because I’d never watched people stream.
If the devs intend for you to play by searching for those special abilities, they need to make knowing about them more accessible
I couldn't figure out raiju, just by looping, it never made sense. But only by listening for foot steps with electronics in a warm area. After this video, it made more sense... In a way I didn't expect.
1:04:20 I completely disagree. They paid for the game, if they wanna cheese it and play it that way then let them. You dont have to play that way, I Dont. Mainly because I suck at this game but, they paid for it too, if they want to cheese it let them, its not hurting anyone else or effecting my game. Maybe I'm in the minority here but, I can't possibly be the only one that feels this way, right?
Edit: It will reflect in their statistics if they play that way too, theyd get the ghost wrong 50% of the time
For Onryo, my understanding of Crucifix vs Firelight range is that is depends on the tier of BOTH items. If the Firelight's tier is equal or higher than the Crucifix, then the Firelight will have a larger range than the Crucifix. If the Crucifix's tier is higher than the Firelight, then the Crucifix will have a larger range than the Firelight.
Can somebody please explain how he says it can be an Onryo at 1:18:00 ? I thought if it blew out the candle three times and then hunted that it was an Onryo, but it blew out the candle more than that here and he said it could be an Onryo. Is it because it didn't activate the crucifix? I don't get it.
I always find out Yureis with door closes. It will attempt to use its ability even if no one is on the map. I watched a Yurei close a front door 3 times while I was in the truck the entire time. Of course your sanity won’t go down cuz you’re not on the map

I used the chair in crafton farmhouse one time and was so happy that I didn't found me bcs I didn't know back then that it is a hiding spot 😊
A banshee will function like a normal ghost if it's target is not in the building if the target is in the building it will only hunt on the targets sanity
This honestly makes me question everything because I swear I’ve heard raijus during a hunt be slow and then just fucking zoom around electronics… I guess it is still an increase from their regular walking speed so then you would notice it rather than looping it like you did in the video! Wow.. the more you know lol
it does go up and down when in and out of electronics, but 2 things observed here, is that Raijus go 2.5m/s under electronics and cannot be impacted by LoS acceleration, it's a flat rate, AND, during an extended chase, Raijus will pick up LoS acceleration FOR THEIR UNINFLUENCED SPEED, so if it chases you with electronics, it'll be 2.5m/s no matter what, but without the electronics, it'll drop to passive speed, or drop to whatever speed it built up while chasing you ('drop' is what i say, but it actually goes up to 2.7m/s at full chase speed, when losing electronic 2.5m/s cap)

I actually had a Myling hunting 3 minutes after each smudge for 2 times, RNG can be crazy sometimes.
RNG can be crazy. I had same thing happen on CWW 0sanity (dw it was 9x with the intent to identify every game and not mulligan)

i've been playing 0 evidence/sanity with friends (x10 modfiier) for a while and i can say with 100% certainty: Goryo, Shade, Mare are the holy trinity of F you ghosts - it's almost a coin toss game. Sometimes demons and spirits act strange too. I've learned most of the tricks from you, so thanks
you can definitely try to guess shade based on it not hunting from its room and doing a lot of airball events, goryo from not changing favorite ghost room in a while and mare by turning on light switches constantly, but even with all of that, it's still hard, and easier said than done 😅

the probles is your crucifixes are already gone by the time when you can be sure about the room
@@eas_herI play 10.8x every day and Shade is one of the easiest ghosts to find out. You go check for the ghost room after it first hunted with the lvl 1 thermometer and only then put the crucifix in the right room. If it eats the crucifix or does any interaction in its room while you are in there, you can rule the Shade out.
Goryo's are easy if you set room changes to often. If it hunts from the same room 4-5 times it is already very suspicious.
Jinns are the hardest imo. The Mare does not always do its event or turn of a lot of lights. But it changes rooms a lot even with broken electrics, almost the opposite of a Goryo.

We have the highest value on "ghost room change" and still sometimes some ghosts won't change their room at Sunny Meadows for 15+ minutes
and roam does not mean room change, but it lowers the temp
It's definitely Goryo, Mare, and Yurei. You can add Jinn to that if broken breaker, Banshee if singleplayer, and ig Shade if you can't figure out how to motion sensor track it with a crucifix in-hand lol.

Thought I had, add a ghost streak multiplier. Guessing the ghost correctly adds a universal multiplier to cash and exp that grows the more games you get correct in a row. Dying/guessing wrong could reduce the rate (or possibly reset)
Example, Game 1 correct ghost adds an extra 1x multiplier, second games gets a 1.2x multiplier. Third games gets a 1.4x multiplier. up until 6th games with a 2x multiplier. Dying /guessing wrong could both reduce the multiplier by 0.2x - 0.4x
Could balance it around so that it more incentivises players to play the way the game was intended. Could also boost progression which the devs seriously fucked up so much that it caused people to use the cheese method as much as they did. In the end, if they hadn't scrwed progression so much people wouldn't be playing like that.
There's a 20% chance for a Banshee to whisper 4 times in a row without screeching. [ (2/3) ^ 4 ]
So... yeah. You'll miss one in five Banshees using the "four whisper" rule.
You mean (2/3)^4.
But 5 normal whispers would make it a 13.1% chance, that's not bad.
I usually just keep the paramic active while I'm waiting on the ghost to do stuff. You can get like 10ish whispers in like 10 minutes on average and guarantee it's not banshee that way.
I've had the case where I'm walking back from the truck and find the door closed before and immediately focused on confirming yurei.
Spirit Box is still useful. Deogen and Moroi have mandatory evidence(even if no evidence mode) because of theyr ability to hard breathe/curse. As same as obake have ability to leave special fingies, UV still works.
ive noticed this bug with the candles recently - if you relight it while its giving you an emf, it will give you *another* emf that you can actually take a picture of. its a very strange bug.
i just dont know if it counts as an "onryo candle blowout". i havent been doing no evidence lately so i havent been testing it like that.
also: it doesnt always happen. just sometimes.
It does count. So, if that happened with the first candle, you're already having two counts and a lit candle. And when that candle got blow out, the guaranteed hunt will begin.
@KatsukiGamez that bug kind of makes the onryo annoying unless you have an emf 3 nearby, but it makes sense cuz ive had a few onryo that hunted after "2" candle blowouts.

I noticed it when people reporting Onryo hunts after 4 but not 3 candle blowouts, which is the case when the bug occurred on the second candle
I do wonder though, if the electronics are on does the max speed keep going up in line of sight, it just doesnt use the extra speed. Alternatively, does the speed up just not happen if electronics are on. Example, if you are in line of sight the entire hunt with flashlight on, then turn it off, will it suddenly speed up, or will it THEN start getting faster?

The front door thing has messed with me twice now. Both times I was in the van, heard the front door slam shut, assumed Yurei (playing on no sanity, no evidence, no activity board, solo), and it wasn’t. First time it was an Oni, second time it was a Hantu. Can they do ghost events when you’re out of the house? If so, how can you tell if the front door closed because of a ghost event or an ability if there’s no activity board?
Insym, I could swear that you were the one from whom I learned that Raiju gets a high fixed speed with electronics, otherwise it's a normal ghost. Also, that it hunts at 65% with electronics on.
1:10:10 I think better solution would be setting it to 3, but! the count resets when 1 round lasts like 15 minutes, so that you can't just guess and leave or you'll get lesser rewards after 3 rounds. I mean, normal players often play longer than 15 mins, especially with higher difficulties so it souldn't be a problem for them to play normally and not be capped.
One time I got a spirit box response and an Obake print, so I instantly knew it was a mimic because obakes can’t give spirit box but I was very confused for a second because I did not know they could do that
Rather than changing the ghosts, just make custom difficulty a challenge and give less rewards than the standard modes. Then if you want the game to be more difficult, that’s fine.
Or you create a new reward that doesn’t multiply. Like a contract completion point that can be used to upgrade items instead of money or level. I think it’s a huge problem that money and exp are 1:1 and both multiplied.

A year ago my friend suggested that we play phasmo together and i was like: "ghosts and scary game? nahhh" but this august i got ur videos recommended here on youtube and i started watching them, downloaded the game on the first week of September and I can confidently say that i couldnt get a bad habit at the game because i've been watching your videos nonstop and learned more and more and now i feel like I am the one who could teach others. In one month u taught me pretty much everything in the game and made me love it. Thank you! Would love to play sometime with you!
but Raiju only speeds up when there are electronics around the area? the living room/ dinning room dont have anything electroics around, or it doesnt matter, it will still move fast even if there is no electronics nearby at where u where at.
We got some crazy Moroi who did 4 whispers in about 70 or 90 seconds and we thought that it was Myling
in my experience all the onryos i've had after the update never hunt after blowing out three candles anymore. i only can tell that it's an onryo if they blow out candles like crazy.
While watching this video I had a great idea for the tier 2 candle. So you've been asked if the tier 2 candle counts as 3 candles when it gets blown out, well the idea is that since the candle is a consumable (I think. I dont actually play the game) then the tier 2 candle can be lit 3 times (as in you light the first candle and when that goes out you use the second candle, ect.) so technically you have 9 candles in total instead of 3 candles.
i noticed that insym would always keep turning on the switches on broken lights. What's the mechanic here?

Fridge of the kitchen in Grafton also work great. Even if ghost is in the kitchen it cant see you somehow lol.
I flagged a Banshee in MP because it was only active if one friend was in the house. Anecdotal as that is. Might be fun to test for
