    Monk Synopsis: Adrian Monk (Emmy®-winner Tony Shalhoub) was once a rising star with the San Francisco Police Department, legendary for using unconventional means to solve the department's most baffling cases. But after the tragic and still-unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy, the devastated Monk becomes obsessive-compulsive. His psychological disorder has caused him to develop an abnormal fear of virtually everything: germs, heights, crowds... even milk. Monk's condition costs him his job, but he's back as a police consultant despite the unique challenges he encounters in his everyday life. These challenges lead Monk to hire a personal nurse, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), who is always there to offer her assistance, even with the simplest of tasks (like organizing his sock drawer). Her less-than-subtle prodding keeps the "defective detective" on track in his investigations, as well as in his efforts to convince Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) to allow him to return to the force.

    In all honesty, I don’t blame Natalie for laughing at Monk in his purple suit.😅 At least Monk wasn’t thwarted due to his uneven shoelaces like in the flashback of him on the high school track team; him touching every tree though definitely impacted his run time.😅

    TWENTY PULL-UPS?
    I've never been able to do 20 pull-ups in my life. I'm no athlete, but I wasn't overweight or remarkably scrawny when I was a young man. But I think about 10 pull-ups was the best I ever achieved.

    • @matthewgarrison156
      @matthewgarrison156 2 месяца назад +7

      I was thinking the same thing. 20 pull ups is what it takes for males to max out the Marines fitness test. It's certainly achievable, but way to high for a minimum fitness standard

      20 push-ups would be reasonable, even most fit young males would have to train quite a bit to do 20 pull-ups correctly.

It's a drink the help you go, go go juice" Lol his trainer "Let me the beast, the beast face" Monk makes a growling face "There's the BEAST" "Where did you get that purple outfit?" From Kevin"

    Makes no sense. Even if it was legal to do this-as stated below, Monk was not technically ion the police force, & even if he was, the job would not require those standards.
    But even if they DID adjudge that the tasks were required-although 4 minutes for a half mile is likely stricter than they would use...
    20 pull-ups, & presumably they meant WITHOUT PAUSES or not getting off the bar, instead of with breaks or pauses?!?
    No WAY is that reasonable.
    A miniscule percentage of people can do that.
    The average person cannot even do a single, perfect, full pull-up.
    10 is a very high level-for an average person, the military does not even demand anything like 20!

    Technically he could very easily get them on federal charges of breaking the law since the law says you cannot discriminate against a person for physical handicap so if he couldn't even pass it technically because he's not actually in the police force he could technically still getting on affirmative action because technically the law does state that unless a job literally requires the physical fitness of the person as in the case of for example of firemen because he has to climb up all those stairs and he has to deal with a certain heavy equipment etc for a long time they didn't allow women for that reason because they tried to use the idea that they wouldn't be able to get up the ladder and down the ladder and do all the other physical requirements involved but they got proved wrong in that and the fact is that the law was put in there because of the fact that there was so much discrimination. And I can tell you if somebody who is physically handicapped before I ended up in my wheelchair my other handicap was invisible to the eyeand I had this conversation with a DEA agent about the fact that I did not believe I you know he offered me a job and I told him that I would never get past the physical, and it isn't because I am physically handicapped I just don't have a certain type of coordination required to get up a rope and he's the one who brought up the fact that the law does not allow them two discriminate I'm using voice to text it's not writing things down as I would like it to write things down so please understand that I don't have control over it 40 years ago I was not as I am now which means that I have the full use of my digits on my hands I don't have that my fingers don't work properly so I'm dependent on this tool called voice to text it doesn't spell correctly it doesn't punctuated correctly and I cannot physically fix it so having said that I hope you understand when I say that 40 years ago I was a bit more physically fit than I am now but I still could do a lot of the things that your average Joe could do because I did not have certain shall we say lung capacity among other things.

      Maybe it was just a plot device necessary for the episode script. Let's go with that.

      I didn't bother reading any of that after the first line, he doesn't have a physical handicap so I'm assuming everything after that is a moot point. He's unfit, not disabled
