Baseball has been the love of young boys dating back many, many years. As a black lady who is in her 70s, I remember days when blacks could not play on the major league teams. We had our own teams and how excited and proud young black boys like my brother were when they saw their favorite player. It warms my heart to see that young boys still love the game of baseball and their favorite players. I am so happy for your son. What an honor. He will be telling his children this story for as long as he lives. Great job, Dad!!⚾️💞

This is what baseball is all about! It's for fathers and sons to pass down from one generation to the next. I am 35 and will never forget my Dad taking me to my first MLB game and to many more after. We still love the game and enjoy every time we watch or attend a ballgame together. This is what it is all about!

Second, it makes me so glad to see professional athletes like Machado take the time and reach out to a young fan to make them feel special. I'm 65yrs old and I remember growing up when "MOST" pro athletes were good role models and didn't charge fans for autographs and pictures! Great job by Dad and Machado!

We are all this boy, always. I was raised by my sports loving Grandpa & his daughter, my Mom. No boys born to him but 3 girls & luckily my Mom was sort of the son he didn't have LOL. She LOVED sports & my first Yankee game at 8 years old is ingrained. As "Roy Hobbs" said, "God I love baseball." 🥹❤ I'm now 66 and still a diehard Yankee fan.
