Nah bro the pandemic is when there were a lot of offers, I still get offers but the jobs are not remote. I think the problem is that most people are now picky, and the IT Industry reached it's buble, kinda like crypto it was all time high back in 2020s to 2023, now it is on it's all time low.

Nick, idk if you're stressed or tired or what bro, but you're not looking healthy brother. I've been watching you for 4+ years now and you don't look the same, and not in a more grown-up way. In a "the work has taken its toll" way. And I mean this with all love and respect, maybe take some time for yourself brother, you deserve it?
Nope I work at apple. Lol.where do you guys get that info lol. No team using AI tools in apple. Fyi some of the AI tools are banned here in most of the team.
I guess the problem is not about new languages, but the problem is the ability of humans to compete against AI to build better software in existing as well as new programming languages. Using AI, we can write entire code for a Website in a matter of hours to few days. AI just learns, optimizes and always matches the best programmer in industry. So, to compete against AI, one has to be as extra-ordinary as the best programmer in the industry. No human can match an AI when it comes to Data Structures and Algorithms as AI can play that chess way better than humans. Besides, one can imagine the fate of software job seekers when Quantum computing combines with AI...
@@bookofmystery9670Ironic that they'd be more concerned for their own data security than they would be about ensuring customers never give their data away to everyone, INCLUDING Apple...

Thank you for this post. I earned my A.A.S., with certifications last May in Web and Mobile Development (yes a CoVid Layoff victim). OMG, the market today is at flood stage. As a novice, I am finding opportunities that require experience are a requirement, and I still question my skills. I even worked for 1.5 years as an intern. I decided to study more code as in extensive JavaScript. It is going well, but wondering where to go from here. I have no problem taking an entry-level job. I'm not looking to become wealthy overnight. Kinda scary.

You look worn down. Are you getting enough sleep? As for the topic at hand, there is very little innovation anymore. Just about any idea one can think of has already been implemented. The same situation is happening in the vocal and visual arts. There's really nothing that can be sung about now that hasn't already been sung before. Movie ideas have run around. It's now formulaic movie making. Years ago (try 1998-2003) I bounced between two schools (community college and university) taking programming courses. Visual Basic and C++ were all the rage, with Java coming on strong. What stopped me from doing anything with programming is that I'm a very practical person, and there just wasn't anything that I could think of that (a) wasn't already downloadable somewhere or (b) was worth my time writing.
Hi Nick, i agree with a bunch of what you've said but I just want to say that it's a little misleading (just in my opinion) to say that if you aren't keeping up with no-code tech you may get left behind. That is just not true imo. You can pick up no-code tooling, on the job, like overnight. It's simple asf. Employers want to see your programming skills, not your no-code skills. I've never seen a job listing specify no-code experience as a req. If you are going to apply to a role where you will be writing code day to day, they do not care at all about no-code experience up front. You also don't necessarily need to excel at leetcode-esque DSA as a brand new junior. I know its fashionable to tell newbies otherwise. But if you aren't applying for FAANG or big tech roles then you are not very likely to be asked to reverse a linked list, write merge sort from scratch, refactor some quadratic nested loop to in-place O(n), etc. In 2020 when I was first hired, my interviews were asking practical questions like 'how can you handle this incredibly large csv with streams in javascript without libraries', or 'demonstrate you know what inheritance is' or 'when is it appropriate to use x pattern over y pattern' and so on. I don't believe that has changed. Companies care about the skills that generate revenue and the demonstration - as a junior - that you have the potential to learn and grow. No doubt that in the years since then, learning time and space efficient algos and whatnot has been powerful for my work as a backend developer. But it was in no way related to me getting hired as a junior, which is who you're targeting in this video right? For context I am an engineer at a Cloud PACS company (medical imaging platform, to paraphrase greatly). We are an SME. We are not big tech but we ingest and disseminate tens of millions of medical images and reports, and this demands precision, innovation, adherence to security best practices, and compute efficiency. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this if you read my comment. Have a nice day.

Not to mention that my expectation in this field were that I will work with more educated people than the ones that I was working for 10 years in Logistics. Well, that isn't true at all at least in my current job! Not to mention my social anxiety is all time high because this job has such a big learning curve and no one is giving me feedback if I am improving or not, so I don't have a clue If currently I am selling myself for less than I deserve... And last, but not least they require you to know 20 different technologies just for a junior job and as I mention the salary is shit! I feel like there’s so much shit talked on the university approach and that’s understandable but read this to know how the uni approach can work. I understand I’m privileged no need to let me know: went to CC for a while and got As since I was able to dedicate myself to school and a weekend job. Got into every UC for CS and/or math with As, CS tutoring exp, and 5 and a half years working a high stress/crisis oriented job, and as much effort as possible put into my personal essays. Went one of the more rigorous UCs. Poured my life and soul into it and applied to more internships than I can count. Each junior year got 1 FANG internship accept and did not get return offer at end. Senior year got 1 offer from good company not FANG but still very good. Got return offer for that. Came into job after grad with no practical skills. Worked my ass off to get them on the job. Worked overtime and created a support system using soft skills to help me survive. Finally a strong contributor to important applications about 1 year into the job. Currently flourishing in job.
now if only the housing market and economy in general would correct itself as well. For things to get better they must first go down and stabilize. the tech market was not sustainable in its prior levels.
"Stabilising" isn't exactly what many people are thinking it to be. The people that got laid off will just stop existing and the job shortage will go away? Every single person laid off is an addition to the unemployed labour pool, further making existing jobs more difficult to get.
Question: If I am learning a language in uni do I focus on that language like CSharp or do I pick another like Java or Swift that focuses on mobile dev which is something I want to do in the future

Too bad. In 2024 web dev is not worth it anymore, The market is taugh, layoffs rampant, decreasing wages. The industry is oversaturated with to many engineers. There is more demanding market in IT such as data analyst, IA, etc.
8 billion human beings, most of which use software everyday. There are 27 million programmers on the planet and most of them suck. There's plenty of opportunities.
What's an example of "no code" tech I need to know? I use ChatGPT all the time!!!... to tell me what code means because I'm a fudge-king moron, so I guess that puts me at the head of the class!
Honestly there needs to be legislation to control this stuff, now every bum goes online and wants to be a software engineer. Meanwhile people went to engineering schools and studied their butts off and can’t find jobs
Why the fk would you regulate the job market... Just because someone studied for 3-4 years versus someone who took an online course, doesn't mean they are better. Academic knowledge vs practical knowledge. In the past it was academia vs trade schools. One gets you vast knowledge, the other gets you a job. Experience usually matters more. Unless you apply to companies that require this intimate knowledge and break new ground, why would you take someone from academia rather than someone with experience? People should choose a path wisely. If one never cared for the knowledge of academia, then going there was a waste. I learned the skills I need for my job and almost nothing more so I spent only a few months and barely any money and now I work as a programmer. I was a little lucky but also smart in how I approached it. At the end of the day you need a job to be done. You don't care who does it. And people with lesser education (such as myself) are cheaper but bring great value and if they do a good job, here comes an easy promotion. You are not owed a job because you went to get a degree. You are not owed anything. Go make some projects so you also have experience. Go make connections so it's easier to get hired when there are openings. Or go learn a different trade if you don't want to bother. Regulations are the worst thing that can happen to a market. The more you push it, the worse it will get. That being said, good luck hunting!
Yeah you shouldn't get coddled just because you were a dumbass and spent thousands and several years on a degree. What needs to happen is the wages come down.
my one frnd jus hates gpt's and ai stuff , as people copy a lot , and also some time ago they use to suck , but it can be very much helpful , as you can use those tools in learning and learning more, even if you don't get a job in any company ,you can always use that knowledge , and give it to others , "learning shouldn't be stopped"

Lots of bad advice in this video lol. Getting a degree is by far the easiest way to get a job, especially if you can land a internship. Nobody gives a shit about your portfolio or personal projects, and chasing trends is often a waste of time. The most important thing is your experience and the companies you've worked for. Thanks for confirming this by mentioning chatgpt. Easy to tell the charletans from the people who actually understand what they're doing.

I like this positive mindset. Keep supplyin the good content
Nice video ;)
😳
TIM MADE VIDEO WITH SAME TITLEDefinatly lot of resources available now.
he stole your thumbnail and title
you literally copy pasted ur title form tech with tim
and the thumbnail and probably the entire content of the video.
I feel like there’s so much shit talked on the university approach and that’s understandable but read this to know how the uni approach can work. I understand I’m privileged no need to let me know:
went to CC for a while and got As since I was able to dedicate myself to school and a weekend job.
Thank you, Nick!
I like how they say it's speculation. I mean do you not know why you fired Developers?
Buddy, that lamp in the background is going to burn my computer screen
now if only the housing market and economy in general would correct itself as well. For things to get better they must first go down and stabilize. the tech market was not sustainable in its prior levels.
Not gonna happen
"Stabilising" isn't exactly what many people are thinking it to be. The people that got laid off will just stop existing and the job shortage will go away? Every single person laid off is an addition to the unemployed labour pool, further making existing jobs more difficult to get.
Question: If I am learning a language in uni do I focus on that language like CSharp or do I pick another like Java or Swift that focuses on mobile dev which is something I want to do in the future
Glorious Nick is back y'all
lol my boss at my company says to not use chatgpt...
MR FEAST!
man gained like 20 pounds lmao
❤he won my heart at that chatgpt line.

I have a strange feeling that I’ve already seen this video months ago

WARNING: this guy thinks it's funny to drown homeless women
Ok so it is him! I thought I was trippen for a bit. Like why is the coding dude with those insufferable folks.
I knew it! Tried to find this guy's channel right after seeing the video, it really is him then huh
Yup here for that and to unsub and get information
context?
@@xx-wp3mq him and this dumb bitcgx were doing a live and told a mentally I'll homeless lady to jump into ladybird lake in Austin I think and its disgusting water, she couldn't swim, said they'd give her 20$ and then ran away laughing when she needed help it's all over
You mentioned discount for ZTM. How to get it there is no coupon code?

Nick you inspire me to order DoorDash every day and get fat.
Dude just gambles on Kick now, its rough to see.
Thank you for creating this informative coding video. It's been incredibly helpful in advancing my skills. Looking forward to more content like this!
What are your thoughts on backend vs full stack vs mobile dev in 2024?
another nick white banger
I'm a new programmer and just stumbled across your video but what makes your opinion valid? Who is you and what are your skilttles/asscomplishments
he is a major shareholder in DoorDash
He's a software engineer that got a degree in Computer Science. He had internships, and dev jobs, then went on to develop a RUclips channel that explained programming concepts. After that, he developed courses for AlgoExpert and now has his own courses and community on the various platforms mentioned in this video and video description.
can he modify the algorythm to get me more dashes please
@@wildmemes2530
He has tons of skittles
Too bad. In 2024 web dev is not worth it anymore, The market is taugh, layoffs rampant, decreasing wages. The industry is oversaturated with to many engineers. There is more demanding market in IT such as data analyst, IA, etc.
How should a fresher get a job in the current market?
Last time I checked, we don't have enough programmers.
I need that sweater
8 billion human beings, most of which use software everyday. There are 27 million programmers on the planet and most of them suck. There's plenty of opportunities.
2 million programming jobs will exist in future
Jesus, its not like software made by one person can be used by multiple people.
False there will be 8billion programmers bc people will use English to write software
NERD
thanks nick
Is okay to collab

So nothing changed 👓
how old nick
its so over
im learning Go, its picking up. backend dev in Go.
Face filter version 7.0
Tech influencers just keep making the same nonsense videos
dude resorted to selling his bs course because there’s no jobs lmao
my one frnd jus hates gpt's and ai stuff , as people copy a lot , and also some time ago they use to suck ,
but it can be very much helpful , as you can use those tools in learning and learning more,
even if you don't get a job in any company ,you can always use that knowledge , and give it to others ,
"learning shouldn't be stopped"
“learning shouldn’t be stopped” - take that to heart with your grammar, man
@@bxnny0374 thanks bro ,I just wanted to convey a lil msg , as its not my primary language , it could be terrible , still i'll keep a note ,and will improve .

If I become a software engineer will I get eye bags like you
Nice click bait. What a load of nothing.
c'mon why make your title exactly the same as TechWithTim's video? :/
Like this is a good video, but you really just shamelessly took my man's title like that?
Man, it sounds pretty overwhelming.
RUclips normies disgust me lmao, hope ur channel will get unshadowbanned soon mane
Wow couldn't even come up with your own video idea?
I like the content man.

Seems like everyone knows how to code these days
Please learn how to use a computer first before grinding code tutorials on YT. Sincerely the IT department.
I got 8 years of iOS dev experience - I’m eating potatoes and learning AI stuff for like a year now… I can’t compete with generated CWs and wannabes that memorise all the answers from frequently asked questions, that interviewers got their list from. I’ve lost numerous positions to some fake mofos that couldn’t handle the job and seen that position open in 1-2 months. Sadly, I’m too entitled now to try competing with “zoom actors”. Better work on automating these parasites out of their jobs huehuehue😅
I saw badbad bideo of you and womang drowning homeless woman forcibly, i see mr code man Nick and say "no" my heart was destroyed when nick said "Hell yeah i love killing homeless people chat" but my beenis? It grew harder each passing moment
I have now drown 43 homeless people by myself thank you Nick for helping me find my life passion
frauster , he posted one tweet on twitter that whoever gets zero likes he will give macbook. In my comment, there was no like since from last 9-10 hrs. I tweeted him to let him know. and u know what, he deleted my first comment. What a pure sore frauster he is
Lots of bad advice in this video lol.
Nice Video sir
