1Co13:1 "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal."
God led me to this verse 15 years ago when my hipster friends were going to a "Real Church" where they spoke in tongues. My Grandmother told me on many occasions that if I wanted to learn about God to read the Bible and let no one tell me what it says. So that is what I did at age 24 when I gave my life to Jesus Christ! Every time I was getting ready to read the Bible I prayed for understanding: knowledge, wisdom and discernment (when I visited different Churches).
My point is I trusted God when He led me to this Bible verse AFTER I had visited one of those Churches where most people spoke in tongues. I understood WHY Paul said what he said about speaking tongues in Church and an unbeliever walks in and think everyone is crazy! and so scare them off. (It should rather be done either alone or in a prayer group of Believers)
One night my hipster friends invited me over for they wanted to lay their hands on me so I could receive the gift. On my way there I prayed for discernment. Shortly after I arrived they laid there hands on me in prayer and speaking in tongues and nothing happened 5 minutes passed by.... nothing. 10 minutes....nothing...20. NOTHING. So they figured God did not want to give me the gift of tongues. I left disappointed bc I sorta wanted to.
HOWEVER, I desired nothing more than wisdom and understanding of His Holy Word (later found God had given me the gift of teaching when God led me to a local nondenominational Women's Bible Study).
So I let the desire of the gift of tongues go.
A few years later I had fell into a deep depression and I had always hid in my bathroom and cried so my husband and sons could not hear me. One night I cried out to the Lord in such anguish that I could not speak any words and suddenly I felt something on the tip of my tongue, it was a feeling and I heard The Lord tell me to open my mouth and begin to speak and something (Holy Spirit) took over and I heard what sounded like gibberish coming out of me. I began to feel the peace that passes all understanding cover me little by little until I was fully covered and my tears gone!!! Praise Jesus!!! The next day I opened my Bible and right away He took me to .........
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God." Romans 8:26-27
Ever since, I have felt that same feeling on my tongue like when I see an accident on the road and especially when I do not know what to say! I had learned prayer is one of our BIGGEST WEAPONS in this spiritual war we are in every day and I asked God, at some point I cannot think of anymore words to say! And then He spoke to my heart & told me THAT is when we let the Holy Spirit intercede for us.
I had not begun with a mile long comment in mind but the Holy Spirit took over! I hope & pray someone reads this & it produces a HUGE BREAK THROUGH for someone! In the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST I ask for your break through & for your prayer language to rest upon your tongue and empower (edify) you TODAY IN OUR LORD JESUS NAME I PRAY, AMEN!!!
    P. S. In what language do the Angels pray?

I think you'll find in the bible that whenever Angels conversed with Humans, they always did so in a "language' that that person would have understood. I would recommend you read 'Strange Fire' by John MacArthur on this, or listen to a video he does on this subject, in far more detail...ruclips.net/video/KNrGc5Ko784/видео.html

Experience doesn’t trump doctrine. You must be able to prove a point within the context of scripture itself (solo scriptura). Something to think about when experience seems to verify your view is, do you not think there is spiritual warfare intended to increase your love for Jesus? While this may seem that I’m pointing towards simple spirituality it is not, I mean to state clearly and unashamedly that you were deceived. Study to show thyself approved and look deep into the Word instead of using experience and shallow reasoning to make a point because it makes you feel better. I assure you, when you are freed from the chains of false teaching that doesn’t align with God’s Word a real, lasting peace will overwhelm you - I will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee. God bless you sister, and may the Lord reveal Himself in His Word to you that you will not be held captive any longer.

Terra voeks I had this experience also and I let the tongues flow and over the last 15 years I’ve been able to speak in tongues daily to the Lord in my private prayer and it had morphed into a beautiful language , supernatural language that only God understands. This is the proof that you have recieved the Holy Spirit. If a person tells you that the gift to speak in tongues is only for some they are misinformed or lying, it is a promise for ALL. I attend a church assembly in Australia that every single person has had this experience and prays in tongues miraculously.

That is a great story, I’m very happy for you. I understand the part about not having the words to pray and the Spirit intercedes for us in groans that are not words we can understand. Scripture also says to test every spirit. Have you tested the Spirit. What does God mean when He says test every Spirit. If I was to put your story to some tests to test the Spirit, would you submit to the test or resist testing the spirit.

There are other tongues mentioned in Acts two and unknown mentioned in 1 Corinthians... we have access to both
Though I speak with tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” ( 1 Corinthians 13:1)
“Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers…” (1 Corinthians 14:22) - Men & angles are two differ languages .... Paul’s letters were not just descriptive but prescriptive... That’s why we read them today because all of his letters to the church relates to something that is happening in today’s time. We are descendants of these churches . He’s simply saying they’re prescriptive because he wants them to be. Stand in the faith and don’t be fooled

If a person doesn’t have the gift to pray in tongues they don’t have the Holy Spirit. This man in incorrect. Everyone in our congregation speak in tongues . He is a false prophet

    • @cdroz9687

Danny Murdach I’m sorry but this does not apply to majority of people in these backslidden churches. Mark 16 clearly states that signs would follow those that believed and were baptised.
      Vs16-20
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
      17 And these SIGNS shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they SHALL speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with SIGNS following. Amen ( many churches and Christians like yourself and these in the video do not confirm their belief with SIGNS as the deciples of Jesus did.
Also it is mentioned in John 3
      Vs 5-8
5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. ( the Holy Spirit gives us utterance to speak in tongues, but a person cannot see where it comes from. The Holy Spirit makes a sound when it has manifested within a being. It does not remain silent. This scripture says so is EVERYONE that is born of the Spriit.) Many are born of water in churches like this video but they are not born of the Spirit as well so they will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Jesus is very clear about this.
Many have been baptised in some form and many believe they are saved just through belief, but as Mark states that certain signs would follow believers. In the eyes of God a man can admit with his voice he believes God but within if he has not recieved the Holy Spirit with the SIGN of tongues and the other signs mentioned in Mark, then he is not a true believer but only half way there. The puzzle piece is missing. This is where the Devil has deceived many churches though your leaders and pastors ministering lies and misinformation and more often just misunderstanding from their part but they will not be told otherwise due to their pride and stubbornness of heart. Also power can be involved in some ministries that they believe they are right and cannot be questioned. Only those that are meek will believe what I’m explaining because soo many in Christianity won’t accept they actually are still unsaved.
The scriptures you referred to are speaking to those who do actually have the Holy Spirit, who have the signs of the Spirit. If you claim you love God and his sayings then you will accept not only what you stated but also what I have stated as these are written in the bible. Also you cannot tell me that what I said is untrue because clearly you have not witnessed whole congregations speaking in tongues, I have since I was 13, in 28 now, and I have only always seen people with the Holy Spirit having the ability to speak in tongues supernaturally. All different languages not gibberish. I have witnessed the supernatural , healing of the dead. Healing of all nature’s, casting out of devils, protection from evil and natural situations, and many many more that are mentioned in the bible. All of these things on a daily basis. I have then gone into churches similar to what you believe and I can feel that God is not there. He may be with some individuals who do speak in tongues there and some that have genuinely opened up to the Lord but churches similar to this video are dead, they are run by men who do not have the guidance of the Spirit but the guidance of their own carnal understanding.

    • @cdroz9687
      @cdroz9687 4 года назад

Danny Murdach what you claim is one of the lies preached in the backslidden churches. Churches that have a form of godliness but deny the power of God. God does not change, man does, and those who are in the body of Christ do not change from the first early church events. God set up blue prints for us to follow. It is unbelief that breeds the denial of Christ’s power in the modern church, you cannot deny the power of God when a person is dying of cancer, the doctors cannot do anymore and their body is riddled with cancer, only to be prayed for as the deciples of Jesus did and they are healed within 2 days... I’m sorry but it’s very clear to see you deny the power of God. We give 100% glory to God in everything it is not our own righteousness, I only pass on the message but God gives us a right to preach with certainty. We are nothing really in ourselves it is Christ who works. Many will say Lord,Lord on the day of judgement and he will turn them away as they believed they followed God. Even those with the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues who did not remain faithful to it will be judged on that.
Even the devils believe in God, it doesn’t make them saved. Only those who believe all the word of God and the signs follow them. We are still in the new covenant 2000 years from Christ but the early church was the foundation of the modern church and we are suppose to remain in the same belief as them. If you believe different and have a different experience to them then it is not the same God that you follow. The church does not yolk itself with unbelievers whether unsaved or backslidden groups.

2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 3 But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. 4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church

And that is exactly what happens when a man of God speaks a (revelation) in the spirit to people that are carnal. he is speaking in a tongue , that they cannot understand . until God the spirit himself gives him light of the gospel that he’s trying to tell them . the tongue of the spirit it is a heavenly language , that the worldly carnal church cannot understand . They will think you are drunk out of your mind to . No different today then Acts 2

WARNING!! This is why we, as Christians we need to discern and check every ‘fact’ that is shared for accuracy.
The word ‘tongues’ as in Acts 2 and in EVERY verse bar one (well get to that) is as he says, ‘ ...from the Greek word ; ‘glossa’. (1100 in Strongs Exhaustive Concordance) HOWEVER, the meaning is and I quote: “the tongue, by implication a language’ (specifically, one NATURALLY UNACQUIRED); tongue.”
How do you speak in a tongue/language without naturally acquiring it? Now with that Incredibly vital question comes others that rise up if you read 1 Corinthians 13:1 (tongues of angels) , 1 Corinthians 14:2, 56 (there are more) in the context that ‘Bob’ - sorry can’t remember his name - has spoken of? And the other Scripture - the ‘bar one’ above ? Well that ‘tongues’ is 2084 (Strongs) - ‘heteroglossos’ and comes from 1100 (naturally unacquired) and 2087 ( heteros) meaning ‘different’. They come together to mean ‘foreigner’ and ‘other tongued’ .
This may seem that it is simply talking about people who are speaker all other languages. However in the context of 1 Corinthians 14:22 Paul is giving discourse to the understanding or explaining that tongues is for a ‘SIGN’ to the unbeliever.
That word ‘sign’ is, (from the Strongs) again, 4592 - ‘semeion’ - means “An indication, especially ceremonially or supernaturally - miracle, sign, token, wonder”
Now, if the person is speaking tongues in their own natural language, what is that a ‘sign’ of? That he is fluent in his own language? (That wouldn’t have given me a sign of God back in the day, what about you?) Using the meanings of these words indicate that the signs are something supernatural and miraculous and a wonder. That’s God’s department And has to indicate a supernatural language.
WE HAVE TO ASK OURSELVES these questions and study the word, go back to the Greek, and read scriptures in context using other scriptures to confirm or deny the truth of our thoughts. This is what makes a good student of the word. Do we Want to ‘present ourselves to God as one approved’ because we have correctly handled the word of truth?
Or are we willing for opinions to be handed to us on a plate and accept them without question.the truth? Because the bottom line is these two men have STOLEN AWAY FROM YOU the miraculous power of speaking in tongues and the power and the fullness of JESUS’ own words that He spoke to believers in Acts 2:7,8. STUDY THE TRUTH

I agree that yes in Acts tongues was used to communicate the gospel with other nations (Acts 2). However 1 Corinthians chapter 14 clearly explains that there are other purposes to the gift of tongues. When Paul explains to speak in a ‘tongue’ that others understand, he merely means speaking in their language. Paul does suggest that tongues covers earthly languages alone. For in 1 Corinthians 13:1 he is pointing out that it is also an angelic language. Therefore, we are unlikely to always understand what is being said when one does speak in tongues. (Please note that chapter 13 in 1 Corinthians is mainly teaching the importance of love. It is not disputing the purpose of tongues)
So, it is therefore clear that tongues can indeed be used for someone to build themselves up spiritually (not to be interpreted - 1 Corinthians 14:2) and can also be used to build the church up (this is where interpretation happens 1 Corinthians 14:3).

I started speaking in tongues last quarter 2016 and I have seen a great difference positive in my life and relationship with our God. Your guest just concentrated on one of the diversities of tongues. There are actually four diversities of tongues
    (1) Tongues for Interpretation (1st Corinthians 14:5). This is the one he mentioned where Paul says it's better one keeps shut if no interpretation by either the person speaking or another and particularly in a public place or assembly , church
    (2) Tongues for intercessional groaning. (Roman's8:26). In this type we. stand in the gab for our family, friends, church, city nation. The Spirit can also lead us to intercede for someone or situations we know nothing or are unknown to us. It's in form of a deep intense groaning.
    (3) Tongues as a sign for unbelievers: (1st Corinthian 14:22, ) This was the power of God experienced by the 120 believers on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2: 4-11). Jesus Christ also mentioned this in Mark 16:17 "these sign shall follow those that believe heal the sick , speak in tongues........" This flow of power transcends ones intellect and language barrier and you begin to witness or preach about our Lord Jesus Christ in the native or local language of your host .
    (4) Tongues for personal edification (1st Corinthians 14:4). Also Jude vs 20. This is where you release your tongue to the Holy Spirit and unlike the other diversities, you are in control of this. We speak divine secrets and mysteries to God. Can speak at anytime, anywhere or length of time. Your guest spoke about the confusion or rejection of this great gift, the problem is from knowledgeable people like your guest who decide to add or take away from the Bible, the word of God, because they don't exercise or have this gift. 10 out of 10, those that have problem with this gift DONT SPEAK IN TONGUES. Desire it earnestly and ask God John 14:13 and Luke 11:13. To God, this gift of tongues is not any different from raising the dead or healing the sick, it all comes down to our receiving by faith and releasing our selves to the Holy Spirit. Also, I encourage us to try and get the book by Dave Robertson "The walk of the spirit the walk of power." there are free online copies . And in contrary to what your guest says people actually spoke in tongues the heavenly language in Old Testament Genesis 5 the tower of Babel. Tongues is the language of all possibilities, God himself said nothing could have stopped them building the tower into the heavens and had to withdraw the language. Zephaniah 3:9 also talked about the restoration of this heavenly language. So it was actually a means of communication and a group of people actually spoke this language. We are lucky and privileged to have this grace gift now, before the restoration in his time.

Concerning what Paul said in 1 Cor.13:1 as many are citing. Paul here is using 3 hypothetical questions to make his point Check the 3 out again He"s not saying this is possible, but stating "even if these were possible, but have not love...you got nothing. I agree with some who have commented that angels spoke in known languages when they spoke. Paul is just saying "Big deal" if you think you have something.
Also, concerning "interpretation". If you have someone in your church speaking french, you need to interpret so all can benefit. Again just read it as Paul wrote it.
. And don"t forget that Paul was writing to correct things in "this" church including what they "thought" was "spiritual" .
This is what is happening in our churches today concerning these things.
Once again history repeats itself.....Read it as he wrote it.

The gift of interpretation is not for interpreting earthly languages but the heavenly language, that all in heaven, including God, speaks. Paul refered to it as the "tongue( language) of angels". All Believers who have been " born of the Spirit" speak this language without understanding what is being said because it is the Spirit making intercession through them in His language.

The thing I wonder about then is why does it say that no more than 2 or 3 people should be speaking in tongues and that you should only speak in tongues if there's someone there to interpret what your saying because if speaking tongues was speaking in other languages than what would be the purpose of having someone interpreting tongues if the tongue speaker can just speaking in the native language of the audience?

Because Corinth is a multi-cultural place. People there have different languages so if there are foreigners in the church and they're not able to understand what is being preached or prayed, someone with the gift of interpretation should interpret. God is a God of peace not of confusion.

Good question. Lot's of Christians take verses concerning tongues out of context. Paul was addressing the Corinthians to correct some things including their use or over use of tongues. Paul simply wanted to put their practices in good order. They had elevated the use of tongues beyond its intended purpose and Paul gave them a better perspective and order of spiritual gifts. I think the church makes a bigger deal out of this subject than our early church leaders intended. Unfortunately confusion on this topic still continues today. Some churches are obsessed with it almost to the point of becoming its own gospel while others spend too much time speaking against it. I'm no theologian but I can read and comprehend what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians. It was about order in the church. 2 or 3 speakers being suggested to minimize confusion and allow emphasis on the more important gifts that would edify everyone and provide a good witness to unbelievers. The interpretation was for those who did not understand the language spoken so they could also be edified. Now, churches today use tongues in many different ways and I judge not. My best advice would be to seek the better gifts as Paul suggested and pray for the wisdom to use them for God's Kingdom. God Bless.

Yes C DRoz thanks for your inspiring detailed follow up. Yes I agree about being careful about pride as I mentioned before esp about tongues since they are the least of the gifts. However as you mentioned if it is God's will that they be interpreted since prophecy which is a superior gift could come forth. Thus one body many members different gifts all relient and yet empowering others! Great description of the proper use of tongues in your church! All the stories you shared are believable since they are based on scripture which is the main purpose of prophesy yet with some future event reassurance! You are authentic since all those experiences were clarified in a deacon's message last weekend entitled the Gospel of the kingdom. This included 1 corith. 14:39-40 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order. So everthing you shared makes biblical sense.
However the tongue maybe a prophesy perhaps to me. God has shown me through a vision after praying for discernment about attacks from spirits esp Levianthian and Jezebel. I believed I shared that previously with you. About meditating on things in regard to Gods word and a vision as I looked up of a cloud opening up showing a KJV bible opened on a podium to Isaiah 27:1: In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathian the dragon that is in the sea. The sword could mean the word of God. Leviathian stands for the enemy of Gods people. The serpent represents Satan. The term sea usually means people hence amongst people perhaps God's people. Despite what some churches believe, yes it is possible for a christian to not only be oppressed by demons but also possess. So the vision could be prophesy. The tongue utterances may be a prayer both to God on my behalf but also a prophesy to me for reassure and comfort. Hence that is why I prayed as instructed by St. Paul in 1 Corith. 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. That is the only way I will know if this tongue is prophesy to me for an answer to spirit warfare. I do not worship again in a church where members presently have the gift of tongues or interpretation. I am trying to get a feel for their gifts since they should be all discernable by a mature Christian full of the holy spirit. Recently all of us have been all praying for a fresh anointing of the holy spirit as you encouraged to be more successful in ministry and spirit warefare. I will certainly keep you updated because of your concern, sharing, and understanding. We are infact traveling to a church retreat for a week in Christmount N.C. Let's see how the Holy spirit moves. So please pray for traveling mercies, intimate fellowship, spiritual growth,
and yes strong anointing of the Holy Spirit with prophesy to edify the church. I also want you to pray according to God's will about the manifestation of my tongue as mentioned in 1 Corith 14:22- Wherefore tongues are a sign, to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth
not for them that believe not, but them which believe. IThis is a scripture that some just read, some just throughout, some just ignore. I seek understand so as to proper application so perhaps a foreign person who is lost may hear the message that could make them respond to the Gospel promise through Jesus Christ. You made a strong statement that is so true many in churches are lost or lukewarm. For only those that perserve to the end will be saved. That is the seed of the woman the remnant church that keeps the commendments of God because they have the testimony of Jesus Christ. The woman of Revelations 12:17 being the apostate church not only the papacy but also other demonization whether they speak in tongues or not. Let us then be the church of Philadelphia and ultimately the church of Smyrna who will be persecuted and even executed for their faithfulness to Christ. Thanks much!

Whoever is satisfied with Mr. Todd Wagner's answer on Speaking in Tongues has not thought critically. According to Mr. Wagner, Gift of Tongue is human language.
But according Paul, when he talks about speaking in Tongue is some chapter (which I can not remember right now), he states clearly that if anyone one speaks in tongues in congregation, there should be a translator, otherwise he should speak with himself. So my question is, if Tongue is a human language, why do we need a translator?
Brothers and Sisters, this topic has actually divided the church with difference in opinion.

In this scenario, it is better I do not speak in tongues as I do not edify anyone. But, if I really insist on doing so, it would be useful to have a person with the gift of interpretation / translation to translate what I am saying for the congregation to be edified.

If that' the only language I know and I want to publicly worship God, then yes; that's way I would speak in a language no one else there understands (to them I would be speaking "mysteries"). You have to put this in historical perspective. In a multi-cultural, multi-lingual city like Corinth, situated on not one, but two major ports, situations like this would have been common everyday occurrences. Paul calls for clarity and understanding at a public worship; thus the need for a translator - if none can be found, better not to say anything at all so as to create any confusions, and just pray silently.

Speaking in tongues is not defined by the Bible as a man speaking in a language unknown to him, that others around him will understand. However, it could happen that way, as it did on the day of Pentecost of Acts 2. Speaking in tongues everywhere in the Bible, is about a man speaking in a language he does not understand, whether or not others around him, understand it or not.

    Pondering 1 Corinthians 14:23
So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers (unlearned) or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?
    So...
Imagine walking into a Church today of about, let's say 100 people and there were some English speaking people, some Spanish speaking people, Chinese and so forth and they were all praising God in their own language. Would you think they had all gone mad?
Okay, same scenario but instead of everyone praising God in their own language, they are speaking what some believers call "Prayer language" or the "tongues" (gibberish) like these gentlemen are speaking of. Would you think they had all gone mad?
Now in the first scenerio I can see people hearing a crowd of 4-5 people praising God in their own language as being a bit confusing to hear, however, would you think they all lost their minds?
Just a thought... Would love to hear your opinion!
    Praise Jesus!

When one is speaking in tongues, the common, the usual, the norm, is that nobody around who hears it, will be able to understand what is being said. This is why we have the manifestation known as interpretation of tongues, whereby a man may first speak in tongues, and then give the gist, the substance of what he has just said in the tongue, in a known language of him and the majority of the rest of the people present, which will be a word of edification, with exhortation and comfort, by the words the Holy Spirit teaches. Though the spoken tongue, will not be understood by the man speaking, and will usually not be known by anyone present, he will be able to give the interpretation of that tongue, in the known language of both himself and the majority of the people present, through faith in God, the leading of the Holy Spirit, and through the ability of the Spirit of God inside him, which will be the manifestation of interpretation of tongues.

From there you are now saved you need to continue to pray and read your Bible to grow faith and grow closer to Jesus. Jlarios06 Believe Jesus is the only begotten son of God who came to earth in the flesh by way of a virgin. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for us as the sacrifice for our sin. He rose again on the 3rd day. Then pray for God to forgive you for sin in Jesus name. Profess that you believe and have done this. Turn away from sin, Repent, All of these things are done unto salvation and then be baptized into Christ. For we are buried with him in baptism to walk in newness of life. Then you are saved. The best thing to do from there is to read the Bible and find a church that is scripturally sound and grow in the understanding of his will. I pray that you are saved and hear Well done my good and faithful servant when you reach Heaven. I pray that all will be drawn by the Holy Spirit as you are. Hell is not made for us. It’s a sign to unbelievers who hear the gospel spoken in their language by a person who is not of their race. It could be an English speaking person who, through the spirit can speak the gospel in Cantonese to a person from China. That would convince the Chinese person this is from God. It never meant to serve you in your private prayer language. There is no scripture that supports that idea which is so popular today. It’s also never seen in Christianity until much later on. Another thing that is disturbing about the speaking in gibberish tongues, is that satanic and other cults like Santeria, and voodoo use the same type of excited gibberish language. It’s clearly not a discernible language and has been used by cults and satanists .

Yes I understand you situation, I feel and do the same. I donot over dwell on this gift since it is the least of the gifts of the Holy Spiirt. I have no control over it since it comes on either in church or at home in my prayer closet only on occaision w/o my control or willful ponder.. Recently however it came on twice while in private prayer. I have a desire to know what I am saying( praying) to God if it is proclaiming a message I need to follow or know. i.e. prophesy. But again no one around with the gift of interpretation of tongues. I want to be humble but also obedient. So I prayed that God would give me a sign or clarificationthat it is ok to want to sble to interpret the utterances myself. Hence I went back again to the scriptures referenced in this video and lo and behold I saw a scripture that I never saw or acknowledged before! It was 1 Corithians 14:13- Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. I finally was able to activate Sound Recorder to record most of the utterance because that was part of my prevoius prayer. It seemed like the Holy Spirit gave me some prolonge message to allow me to do so perhaps. So I played it back several times then reserached the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23 in about 6 or 7 languages Dialects including Aramaic. My tongue sounded somewhat Romantic but not Spanish since I speak alittle Spanish. To date no clear similarity or connection. I am trusting that God will reveal it to me if it is his will at his appointed time!. I pray you come amonst those you trust who can authentically interpret you prayer tongue utterance so all can be edified or that your utterance comes at the appropriate time and setting preordained by God to non believers from some other culture or place so they can receive the Gospel message of truth about Jesus and the Kingdom of God leading them to repent and follow Jesus Christ. @@nicholaschuma6304 Well to answer your question C Droz I only pray periodically in tongues. Usually after some heavy meditation on a biblical principle that needs to be applied to my life or some issue I need spiritual help with sin, proper interpretation of a biblical precept, or other personal struggle. This includes time of private music worship with confession of sin . The utterance comes out from the inner man. The dialect sounds romantic but I am American. I have no willful power or inclination to start it or stop it privately. When it happens in church I utter ( pray) to myself as St Paul instructed since the holy spirit has not made me privy to any with the gift to interpret. Other christian teachers also believe that you should have control thus turn it on and off at will depending on your situation. Unfortunately your church situation even though it seems accommodating to people with tongues and interpretation of tongues makes me a little uneasy because it sets up people to possibly work in the Flesh not in the spirit unless their interpretations are of spiritual truth prophetically like a word of knowledge. I have recorded some of the recent utterances to be interpreted by myself utlimately if God would grant me the ability to do so. That way I may be able to test the spirit of the message as I would do if someone else gave intrepation. Could you give me some examples of interrpretations that happened at your church that were solid? However if you and others are correct about controlling the tongue then mine might be from demons oppressing me like Leviathian or Jezabel and need deliverance but it won't come forth in the presence of the elders if I control the volume as it moves me. I do not want to disrupt the service or prayer time unless the spirit pours it out loudly and they have to confrobt me. Maybe then they can challenge the spirit to determine if it is the holy spirit of Christ or demons! In a book I am reading Spiritual Warfare by Dr. Karl Payne a scenario like that happened where he challenge the utterances of both the Pastor and his wife who said he prayed in tongues by will. They did it infront of Dr Payne but he called out demon spirits that wete really the source of the utterance. But yes Christians should have self control ingeneral and with spiritual gifts. A deacon ofmy church gave me the book because I shared possible demonic spiritual warfare per a vision with scripture of Isaiah 27:1

The gift of speaking in tongues is a different operation of the Holy Spirit than speaking in tongues as the first evidence that the believer has recieved the Holy Spirit and the believers private prayer language.
As Paul says in 1Cor.12:1,6, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for the edification of the church gathering.
The believers private prayer language is for the edification of the individual believer,
" He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself"(1Cor.14:4).
Not all believers are given the gift of tongues but all believers speak in tongues as the initial evidence that they have recieved the Holy Spirit.( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19).

You must ask yourself - What are spiritual gifts? Why does God give them to born again believers? What is the purpose? Can a spiritual gift be taught? Is the spiritual gift of tongues, the ability for one to speak a language unknown to them but known/understood language by another? Is this known language documented/taught by the people group that speaks it? In contrast, what about one that prays in an unknown language that is not documented nor clearly understood by others. Should it be considered a gift of language (tongue - G1100 glossa) as defined previously? What passages would one use to validate their theology/doctrine? Remember, the passages should be clear to support clear doctrine, not our feelings or experiences. Also remember, we will be judged how we use/apply scripture. We do not want to lead any astray by false theology/doctrine.
Validation - Scripture usually has many interpretations by readers but ONE true intent by God. If you do not know/understand the root language of a passage you will have a very difficult time reading a translation and understanding the original intent in the Greek (New Testament). Also, if you do not know the complete New Testament you will have a difficult time understanding context and true intent. Reference a Greek lexicon to begin to unpack a passage and/or a Biblical scholar to capture the literal intent of a passage.
For reference - do a study to understand the difference in the meaning of the word "believe" in John 3:16 and James 2:19 - Even the Demons believe and shudder. The same Greek word G4100 pistueo is used in both.
Blessings to all as you live to glorify God and help others do the same just as our Lord Jesus Christ did.

i think it's another mystery from the Bible that we cannot explain.

Is there anywhere in the Bible where it says that praying in the Spirit, can not, or should not be sometimes referred to as a "private prayer language"? Any verse at all? I've never seen it. I have seen it said that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

    Speaking in tongues:
    1. KJV Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
    2. KJV Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
    3. KJV Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
    4. KJV Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
    5. KJV Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
    6. KJV 1 Corinthians 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
    7. KJV 1 Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
    8. KJV 1 Corinthians 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
    9. KJV 1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
    10. KJV 1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
    11. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
    12. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
    13. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
    14. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
    15. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad.
    16. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Other verses with the word tongues:
    1. KJV Genesis 10:20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
    2. KJV Genesis 10:31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
    3. KJV Psalm 55:9 Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
    4. KJV Isaiah 66:18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
    5. KJV Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
    6. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
    7. KJV Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
    8. KJV Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
    9. KJV Revelation 11:9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
    10. KJV Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
    11. KJV Revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
meaning of the word from original srcipture:
    1100 ???ssa glossa {gloce-sah'}
Meaning: 1) the tongue, a member of the body, an organ of speech 2) a tongue 1a) the language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other nations
The meaning of the word tongues from original scripture is the language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other nations. Most verses in the Bible when using the word clearly state this is what it means. It also always uses the word tongues in plural. When i hear people this day in age speaking in tongues, it always sounds like the same incoherent babbling. It sounds like no real language, or any language created by God. 1 Corinthians 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. Speaking in other tongues was for non believers to show them a miracle. When non believers see incoherant Babbling, it does the complete opposite. If they were to speak another language in a day where nobody was bilingual, it would show them a miracle. To show them incoherant babbling that sounds like a baby learning to speak would do the opposite of what God gave the gift for. A verse that explains this is KJV 1 Corinthians 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad. It should not be a language nobody can interpret either. How can one interpret an unknown language? 11. KJV 1 Corinthians 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. If you speak in tongues, somebody would be able to interpret it knowing both languages. Nowhere does it say you will speak a non existant language that not one human can comprehend. I got my answer two times when I prayed about this. Both times, I asked the Lord to allow me to speak in tongues if it was his will. Both times my tongue went limp, and I could not speak. This is what made me go to scripture, and see what it had to say. From my analyisis of scripture it was given to us during a time that believers only could speak one language. Every other time the Bible speaks of tongues it speaks of foreign language, not incoherant babbling nobody can understand, and would be totally useless if not harmful to onlookers. The only thing I suggest is praying about it, and asking the Lord yourself after reading all scripture speaking of it. Read it again after you pray too. I got my answer, but I would rather you ask the Lord yourself. He will not lead you astray.

I'm not a tongues user but I associate with several of them. I agree mostly with you but here are some points where I think you're not quite accurate:
    1. Only in Acts 2 is it pretty clear that the languages spoken are human languages. Everywhere else it isn't specifically stated. It's reasonable to assume they were, though.
    2. Tongues were not always for unbelievers. In Acts 10 it seems at least part of the reason tongues were given was a proof for the Apostles that Gentiles could receive Christ.
    3. Not sure you commented on this point but just because someone can start and stop the tongue at will doesn't necessarily mean that he/she can understand what they say when they say it. Thus the need for interpreters and Paul's comment in 1st Corinthians 14:14 that even the speaker didn't understand what he himself said. This struck me as weird but upon reflection I guess it doesn't prove what sort of tongue is being spoken either way. God could make my mouth speak French words without letting me understand French.

I know Todd sounds very clear in stating that “Tongues” is not a spiritual language but that’s definitely not clear biblically . 250,000,000 Pentecostals disagree with Todd’s view and also use scripture to support their view on this as well . I’m NOT saying that I disagree with Todd I’m just saying it’s a problem, biblically and it’s not clear.......✌🏼

My biggest problem with the Charismatic movement is in evaluation of the "fruits" of its practice. "Pragmatically", this could put me outside "scripture alone" insistence; but, I don't see any good fruits with modern day "Pentecostal" practice - the gifts they typically emphasize. I find the whole of the Charismatic movement an embarrassment in the proclamation of the gospel. It does seem as "strange fire", cultic hysteria, subjective teaching and practice of deluded leadership to an easily deluded mass. I am depressed and sickened by the whole of it. Finally, let me say I speak as one who was a minister in the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world for six years. I was inundated with Pentecostal teaching and practice for over twelve years. One of the saddest days of my life was when I prayed that I could not travel that path anymore. I knew the scorn I would receive from family and friends as I could no longer support that teaching and practice.

In Acts ch.2 when the believers recieved the Holy Spirit and began to speak in " tongues" three times it is written that the men in the listening crowd questioned how they were hearing the believers speak in their native languages .
Why is this written three times instead of just once ? Because a three time repetition of an event in the scriptures has two purposes:
    1) Its' the Word directing us to the presence of an important spiritual truth.
    2) To set a precedent so that the same curcumstance need not be repeated in as much detail elsewhere in scripture that it is mentioned.
The important spiritual truth in Acts ch.2 is that the miracle for the men in the crowd wasn't one of the believers speaking in their individual native languages, but of the believers all speaking in one spiritual language and those in the crowd Hearing what they were saying in their individual native languages.
The precedent set was that this was as a sign to unbelievers. The men in the crowd.

If the purpose of tongues was primarily to evangelize people in their native language, why do the only instructions about it regard its use in the church? And why would Paul say there needs to be an interpretation if someone speaks in tongues? If tongues was for the random church visitor who spoke a different language, then they wouldn't need an interpreter to understand it.

this man is right in what he is saying ... unknown tongues benefits who other than you. not only that but there is mention of Angelica tongues and known tongues in the Bible do you research about this on your own time buy the Hebrew and Greek words to these days in the Strong's Concordance. ask yourself this question if you're speaking known tongues who will I benefit God, me ,or the unbeliever the answer to that is all three number one it benefits guide because you have brought someone to him number to it benefits you because you are being obedient and will be rewarded for your obedience number 3 it benefits the unbeliever because now his soul is being saved by listening to minister to him in his native language. now ask yourself this question if I am babbling and speaking in unknown tongues or as you would say Angelica times how is that benefiting God the unbeliever or me .... the answer to that is no one. because when you are speaking in Angelica tongues or as it is said unknown tongues you do not know what you are praying for nor what you are saying to God or asking him for that matter and the unbeliever that is watching you speak in this unknown tongue do not even know what you are saying they're for leaving him Clueless ...doubting ..and also feeling inferior because he cannot obtain what you have or supposedly think you have. and it is not beneficial to God because he cannot speak to you in that language because it is babbling nor are you bringing your soul to him but you are more so deterring unbeliever from believing in the first place. I have saw the rubbish of what people who so-called speak in unknown tongues done to people who has visit their Church and they want to be saved but since they don't speak in tongue they can't be saved or it is fake little lost souls is shameful because of this

Yes, God is not the author of confusion. What do you suppose might have happened on Pentecost, if the languages (the tongues) that God gave those Galileans, were some languages none of the people around would have been able to understand? I'm glad he gave them different tongues, languages, and that those languages were among the different languages the people present commonly spoke, so they could give their testimony of what exactly happened that day.

There are other tongues mentioned in Acts two and unknown mentioned in 1 Corinthians... we have access to both
Though I speak with tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” ( 1 Corinthians 13:1)
“Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers…” (1 Corinthians 14:22) - Men & angels are two differ languages .... Paul’s letters were not just descriptive but prescriptive... That’s why we read them today because all of his letters to the church relates to something that is happening in today’s time. The apostles work and letters were blue prints. We are descendants of these churches . He’s simply saying they’re prescriptive because he wants them to be. Stand in the faith and don’t be fooled.
If you don’t believe me, test what I’m saying. You will see. What can’t be proved through talking will be proved when the presence of God overtakes you

Isaac Maue also he wouldn’t say that only God would understand the tongue, and then in chapter 12 say that there are diverse kinds of tongues which also means categories not just languages and in chapter 13 there are tongues of men and of angels... the tongues that are a sign to unbelievers are human languages but the Bible clearly describes something else !

There are different kinds of tongues! There is a tongue that is prophetic and needs to be interpreted. There is a tongue of worship, singing in the Spirit. There is a tongue for intercession when you pray for people or situations you don't know about with your understanding. Lastly, there is a tongue that is your own personal prayer language that edifies you in your spirit man! The Lord speaking through Paul says, "I would that YOU ALL speak in tongues!" Because of what I see in the word, all of these different forms of tongues with the exception of the prophetic tongues, ( used to edify the church ), all other tongues God intends for all! Why would Jesus not want you to be edified or to worship with your tongue or interceed with your tongue? " Forbid not the speaking in tongues!"

Private prayer language for the individual Soldier of Christ but what about collective as the body of Christ?
What does it mean when the language of angels will be spoken and not using it in an open door setting, maybe setting a space for it to happen like in corporate prayer among the saints?
Tho, I don't know, and something about an interpreter of the prayer spoken?
I am not sure where the word says stuff about that too.
In any case avoiding division in the Body over such things is sad, it's good to talk about and not hold to tight to an idea Going right to the Source. His Words in the Bible.

There is no such thing as a tongue which is completely unknown by everyone, all beings, without exception. Somewhere, somebody understands that language, for God understands everything the Holy Spirit gives. God knows all languages, even if they are no longer spoken naturally among men, or even if they would not be spoken today by angels, though they at one time might have been.

Well intended, but so sad.... this is so wrong, and taught by men who do not even speak in tongues nor have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (other video). This is why they are teaching these things from their own personal opinion without any actual experience with the Holy Spirit. I went to a church for years that taught like this, until I actually received the BOTHS at someone's home group.... I couldn't believe what leaders in the church were unwilling or unable to teach about these things because of lack of first-hand knowledge.

No one has the "gift of tongues " today for with our technology it wouldn't be needed. We do have unknown tongues. Which can be spoken in church, with interpretation. Also the unknown tongue can spoken to God in our private prayer life.

Well how can someone who never know how to speak in tongues made up a fake tongue it doesn't make sense. If speaking in tongues was not mentioned in the bible then why does anyone believe it. It is also mentioned in the bible if someone speak in tongues n no one can interpret then they should be silence and each one should pray n ask god to give them the ability how to interpret the unknown laguage that someone speaks. So my understanding of the scripture when it says that speaking in tongues is for the unbelievers is this, if someone come in your church n hear someone speaking in tongues they will not understand because only god will understand that persons spirit unless someone has a gift to interpret things. So speaking in tongues is for the unbelievers because they do not understand the things n the heavenly language that people speak but it doesn't mean that speaking in tongues is not from god. What abt the time of pentecost, when this people speak in tongues, did the bible says it's evil or not from god?.not at all. Let the scripture reveal scripture not by anyones wisdom n strength it does'nt work at all that's where we find n end up in confusion. Jesus says if we know how to give good gift to our children, how much more the father give to those who ask him? No one asks for a bread n then god give them a snake. So no one prays for a gift of tongues nn god gives them a language of evil. Let the bible b true n let god b true n every man a liar.

When prayed in private it is directed to God as he understands it as it’s our soul being interpreted by the Holy Spirit to God, with our our tainted minds interfering with the prayer. When it is operating in the church congregation in a communion service then it must have an interpretation into English by another who has the Holy Spirit so that it is not Someone’s opinion. Churches who do not speak in tongues or only some speak in tongues are not part of the body but are the backslidden churches the bible speaks of. The power is within all who receive the Holy Spirit. My assembly all have the ability to speak in tongues and our assemblies world wide.

1234 4321 that is one of the gifts of the spirit i have heard the same thing in tongues over and over . I BELIVE the tongue of the spirit is the Revelation of God’s holy word .Why because we all must be born of the spirit . The salvation of God is to all men and whosoever will , the price has been paid . Not one of us is better than someone else only a proud spirit will say they know more than someone that doesn’t BELIVE just like them . I have been in many different church’s that try to beat tongues into you . It’s a gift . Let me ask the question do we stop with that gift there are nine gifts of the spirit . Even the gift of helps we need wisdom knowledge and understanding . I have hard people speak in what they call tongues for hours , and say they are filled with the spirit RIGHT ? And if they are filled with the spirit , when you ask them about the kingdom of God it’s always out there somewhere . When the spirit should testify of the kingdom of God in in them .

Ronnie Neal where people misunderstand the gift of tongues and speaking in tongues is that one must have it to use it as a gift in a communion service, but it also needs to be used daily in private prayer in order to top our oil up to be a wise virgin. There are also foolish virgins who also have the Holy Spirit but they do not exercise their tongue regularly at home in private prayer and their oil starts running out, those are the ones that their other gifts don’t follow them easily. Once we are given the Holy Spirit we need to feed it with prayer and with hearing of the word. There are backslidden churches that do speak in tongues but they allow sin into the church and don’t deal with it as Paul had to do. Tongues is not a gift for some but a gift for all who believe. Remember that Christ spoke that within the church there would also be goats amongst the sheep, and that he will judge them on the judgement day if they remained faithful to the Spirit.
If you read the events on the day of Pentecost and the 3000 souls that were saved they all believed the same gospel preached to the deciples, the deciples recieved the Holy Spirit and they were enabled to speak in tongues, the disciples went on the preach the gospel with SIGNs following.also Mary the mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene were in the upper room with the disciples and the Spirit filled all that were in that room. Even the Roman soldier Cornelius spoke in tongues when he recieved. These were the blue prints of the church and anyone who preaches other wise or in partial truth are against the word, perhaps even unknowingly. It takes meekness to accept these messages and many are unsaved still in churches due to ministers who won’t accept the need to have signs following in order to have the Holy Spirit. Yes a person can have the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues but they must then remain in the Spirit and not backslide. There are goats and sheep even in the body of Christ or another term is weeds amongst the wheat, but Christ will seperate them on judgement day, he won’t root them out now incase it plucks up the wheat. Also chaff (weeds) look like wheat but the fruits are obvious what they produce.
If people are told tongues is a gift for some and not for all, then they won’t seek for the Holy Spirit and each person has a right to seek for the Spirit and for tongues, not just to operate in church but for their everyday prayer. Only the devil will steal and lie about the need for these signs to be manifested in us all.
We have people in our congregation who came from churches that taught tongues is a gift for some and they never operated it due to being told by their ministers what you explained to me, until they came to our congregation and were shown the truth and they actually then recieved the Holy Spirit and truly spoke in tongues and still do. So many have been lied to I’m sorry and also you have been lied to. I am a witness of these things and it’s not just my opinion, I cannot lie about what I’ve seen.

1234 4321 I know what you are saying the tongue of the spirit is a deeper understanding than most think like our brother Paul said he spoke in tongues more than all he had a deeper understanding of tongues than a lot still today I am not putting anyone down but I know there is another step into a deeper meaning in this . You know on Pentecost what peter was saying he was saying . This is that , that was spoken by the prophet Joel the promise was and is the spirit 14 nations were there that day and they all heard in there own language what was being spoken what did they say . ? Remember they were all there to worship God . They were the church . What did they say what must we do . Peter told them to repent. Wait they were the children of God what were they going to repent of . I afraid the church get to one place and stops and say I’m full of the spirit .i know I’m right I have heard them say when they get up from the alter , they got it all . How did they get it all and did not even know anything about the spirit they had the same mind they had when they as God to forgive them . Knowing nothing about a transform mind . You said something about three thousand souls being saved . When Moses brought the two tables of stone off the mountain how many died that day ? 3000 then 3000 was raised that day . Showing the death of 3000 and the life of three thousand on Pentecost. And if we continue to read Acts in the forth cap we will see they were filled again with The Holy Ghost. There is so much to understand .

The Bible could not be more clear. If there's no one to translate when someone is apparently speaking in tongues then it's not from God. Speaking in tongues is to edify the church. If no one is there to translate what the speaker is saying then there's no benefit, therefore it's not God speaking.

Wrong. Clearly this man does not have the gift of tongues. If tongues is always a “dialect” as this man is talking about then why does Paul talk about the gift of interpretation? When tongues is spoken it’s not always a known tongue or language.

Excuse me i don't know what type of organization you are I watch your videos are good except one of this think I have to stand up for the truth Mr.Senior Pastor Todd Wagner Watermark community church there you have big mistake for not accepting this truth and God gaves Gift of speaking in tongues.
    You have to know that!
The greatest Satan's weapon uses against to ignore the believer in Christ because God truly gives gift of speaking in unknown tongues here is Bible evidence:
Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.
    1 Corinthians 14:1‭-‬5‭, ‬13‭, ‬18‭-‬18‭, ‬26‭-‬29‭, ‬39‭-‬40 KJV

When I pray in tongues I'm like a heat seeking missile. I hit my target 100% of the time. I never miss by God's grace when I pray for a particular situation. When I pray with my mind;it's over in 5 minutes or less because my mind is limited. In my spirit with the Holy Spirit I can pray endlessly.

To C DRoz Yes I do believe if you are First Assembly of God that you are in one accord certainly as a major denomination. I am leaving it open to the Spirit precept of conviction of the holy spirit first for repentence and need to follow Jesus Christ as savior and Lord then the receiving the Holy vs being filled with the holy spirit being verified by speaking in tongues when baptized. Yes water baptism full emergence is biblical correct. I was not speaking in tongues then when baptized but several years later at a charismatic bible prayer mtg in my friends church. What is you take on that brother? Remember tongues are the least of the spirit gifts but all are important and should be known and utilized ASAP per scripture for the edification of the church, and the glory of God. Since scripture notes clearly that tongues (in greek) are dialects for the non believers that come to our churches. This scripture is quoted by not really understood. To me the utterance is to proclaim the power of God to his glory through the grace offered in the gospel of Jesus Christ. That had to be the reason why jews from every nation in Jerusalem during the Pentocoast ( Shavuot) yes 3000 acknowledged Jesus Christ as their redeeming messiah! They were the first harvest of souls So I am waiting and praying for that person to walk into our small nondenominational church
to be save and be part of yhe remnant church of Jesus Christ. We only had one baptism since I have been attending in the last 2 yrs.. From previous church ministry experience the least
We had in 1 yr. was 2 to 3. So I hope I have a biblical tongue and if so that God would use it to further his kingdom. But that remains to be seen for not my will but thy(his) will be done.Amen. Thanks for engaging with me!

1 Corinthians 14:2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
At 4:55 he said tongues means the exact same thing every single time in Corinthians which is a know language. He lied to everyone who has watched this video.

Speaking in "tongues" is actually one language that is spoken in heaven. It has never been an earthly language but God has allowed some to understand in their own languages as a sign to them.

Real truth Real quick, the Bible tells us that everyone who is baptised with the Holy spirit will speak in tongues.
In every Biblical account of people being baptised with the Holy Ghost, they all spoke in tongues.
Jesus said the believers shall speak in tongues.
Please note, they weren't preaching the gospel in tongues, in Acts 2: 4--11.
Tongues that are a foreign language as in Acts 2, are just ONE of the EIGHT supernatural operations of tongues.
You are showing your ignorance of the Bible AGAIN l

  • @jeffengstrom5363

Tongues was not a sign of judgment. Judgment was never the subject when the real gift of tongues was given. NEVER!! AAAUGHH!!! You are missing the whole point of Paul's use of Isaiah in 1 Cor.14. You are not even in the ball park.
