A great film. A great filmmaker. I can't put it any more simple than that.
Despite what many people complain today about the feminization of men, there are actually very few men who seem to be in touch with their feminine side the way Mike is.
I can't say I identify with it personally, but I do respect it. And this mentality definitely came in to 20th Century Women.
Best wishes always to David Poland's Dp/30 ..I learned a lot from these interviews...
Thank you so much David for your interviews. They are a real treat.
He is so amazing. The way he builds his characters is powerful. Love all the characters from 20th century woman
Great interview -- very much like one you did with him for Beginners -- fantastic repertoire you two have. Mike's a very generous as an artist...his humble & forthright nature is so refreshing these days! Does he still hoola-hoop after school?!?
my god i love him!!
i love this man. holy moly he keeps syaing things i wish every man would know and speak of themselves.
so many things to choose here, but i love when he said "memories of my mom, which aren't my mom. memories are subjective". that's so true and interesting. I feel like I somehow learned a lot from hearing this interview. lovely. just lovely.
wow! great to hear the stories Mike, you made me feel like I was there. your friend Dana in montecito.
Wow, I really enjoyed watching this. I'd love to just have a conversation with him one day... he seems like such an interesting person
this movie is such a gem.
right on Mike!
One of my absolute favourite films, and Mike Mills is a brilliant director. Disappointed with the seedy comments on Annette Bening's appearance though, especially as she isn't present. You lost a viewer there. A fantastic actress with an incredible footprint in film, reduced to a conversation on her butt. Disappointed but not surprised.
I wonder if he finds it more difficult to write a character based on himself vs. based on those close to him
Eagerly waiting for Lars von trier interview..
Yeay.
