Rosedown is one of the very last of McMillen and Company's interiors left in the US. It was carefully restored in the late 1950s and almost all of the original furnishings were carefully restored and the original wallpapers were copied and installed. These rooms should be preserved not only because of their history but because they are a time capsule of Mid-Century Historical Revival interiors. They are perfect and should never be altered. It looks as if the interior needs to be restored again, hopefully to the McMillen look. I noticed china cabinets have been built into the Dining Room. The room was absolute perfection before these were added. The cabinets make the room dark and foreboding. Also, what happened to the Henry Clay Bedroom Suite? It was so gorgeous in the large room built for it downstairs.
