Well Paul did all those upgrades so that Ed would have a better off road vehicle. But now Ed will not take it off road with this 50 thousand dollar paint job. I wish Robby would have just done a normal paint job so that Ed could actually use it.
Evidently the good Lord called Michael home, May God-bless his family and watch over them. The Golden Nugget is almost done but just to see Ed's face, wlbe a site to see, we love all of you that have put your heart and soul into Ed's projects.
Robbie and crew, (the crew is important, without it, where would you be), this is by far the most detailed custom paint job I have ever seen, it is show car quality, well I guess that's approiate because this little guy is goin to be shown! A lot!
In my mind I could never have imagined that there was so much work involved in just the painting alone on a vehicle let alone all the other prep work I have seen on this project. Hats off to all of you for your attention to detail and dedication to perfecting your craft plus your ingenuity to invent ways to overcome abnormal obstacles that pop up. One question, I understand the paint for this is high priced, is this a typical level of finish that is done one all your vehicles/projects? Or are there lower levels of quality of finish. You know, like a level 1-2-3 or however you might classify different jobs.
He has said in past videos that they never really take on resto projects like this. More accident repair and what not which doesn’t seem to take nearly as much attention to detail.
I wanna know how many hours of sleep these guys average because when they're not working super hard, they're playing even harder. And how old is Robby cus his work ethic, he's a frickin animal.
I actually like the sanding stuff. There's a lot of tips and tricks that I might be able to use. Sanding seems easy until you're chasing a blemish free polished surface free from any visible scratches. I'm currently trying to teach myself.
Yeah, I’ve been thinking for a while that this has to be the nicest (most expensive) restoration ever done to a samurai. Just wondering if I had Robby work on my car would the work be anything close to this level?
I've seen you do this a lot now, but what does the blowtac and static process actually do? How does it work? Looks like magic to me :) Thanks for the respect for Michael, he looks like he was such a gentle soul. Rest in peace Mike, and may God bless and comfort all his loved ones
googling for info... it helps prevent dust attraction before and after painting... guaranteeing a smoother, uniform finish... think TAKK is one of the anti static equipment companies...
Hi Marthijn, it's three steps. Blow off any loose contaminates, tack is using a tack cloth that is a bit sticky to remove any dust or other small contaminates, and the static gun lays down charged particles that the primer/paint/etc sticks better to. As I'm not a pro, this is just my understanding of the process, but he does reference it in an earlier video. Hope that helps!
Back in the late 70's while I was in highschool, two classmates drove a couple of these to school! Even back in the day they were disposable vehicles... Ed is going to be the owner of the most valuable, and over restored Suzuki to ever exist!
So sorry for the loss of Michael. His family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers. You and your crew are doing an awesome job Robby, keep up the good work.

I think tucker might be the actual entertainment savvy guy out of the entire roster. When Matt started it was a bit of a Lark, but then to the surprise of everyone he became a legitimate YT star
So, as you said, at that point there's a zillion angles to exploit. The most obvious is product placement, but there are many others
It must be fun for the insider circle to realize they could actually beat Discovery at their own game simply by continuing to produce real authentic content
I guess that with this Golden Nugget you can buy another 10 or 15 Susuki LS :P
Oh man that ending hit hard, I can't express how many times I had that same gut feeling, and to this day I'm happy I snapped the pictures that I did. Take more pictures y'all! Hug and love each other 🤙🏽
This is quite possibly the most satisfying series I’ve ever watched on RUclips! Absolutely stellar work Robby!
I thought the same, can watch these vids every week of the year! So, cool to take something sentimental and make it shine again!
There's something about that high temp enamel stuff he's using on the exhaust system. That is very satisfying. I need to do that on my ugly XJ exhaust parts.
That was a beautiful thing you did there with Mike. My condolences to his family. I've had a similar reminder among my friends just recently, so yes,
tell those close to you that you love them, you never know when it will be for the last time.
Huge respect for the effort your team are putting into this build.
What a moving memory to Michael. Thank you guys for the videos and all the hard work.
Robby, I've been following the entire Golden Nugget project from the start and the craftsmanship I've seen is phenomenal!
Greetings all the way from the Netherlands
I don't know what it is, I can't stop watching these videos. It's literally watching paint dry, but these guys make it so entertaining.
Yeah, but they time lapse the drying time ;0))
Your tribute to Mr. Woolsey is the reason I watch your channel. You are all very genuine and down to earth people. I’m glad you got to know him and that your wife followed her impression to record him. It’s those connections that make life so special. Thank you for sharing Mike with us. His family is in our prayers.
Mike looked to be a real character he reminds me of my cousin George, condolences to his family. You have built a fine "nation" for us to enjoy. I can't believe the hard work and extremely long hours you folks put in. P.S. Dinner is the MAN.
You and the crew are simply amazing😊🙏
After seeing this go submarine and rip thru rocks and stumps being recovered I never thought we would see it getting this treatment, well done to all involved
It’s not the same vehicle anymore.
@@danjones1365 ok Danny Downer...
@@danjones1365 it’s something that Ed can actually drive everyday now.
I was literally cringing when you started spraying base with all the parts laying down like that… so relieved when you said you were going to put them on and spray two more coats.👌👍
Im Glad you were able to meet a New Friend before his passing! You SHOW your LOVE/Kindness with your family, your workers and and the people you meet along your path...
I’ve been a collision painter for over 25 years now and I know the hard work you guys are putting into that nugget. Great job Robby and the team.
Trying to show that it is possible to polish a turd...
Robby, I really love seeing what a craftsman is capable of. The Nugg is going to be a showpiece that will demonstrate what is possible when you put your all into something.
Ed is going to love the nugget rokon combo for sure! You guys always do such a high quality job with max effort. Hats off to you all. Sorry to hear about the loss of a good friend. Stay safe out there everyone.
Every video, I grow to like and appreciate Robby and the team more and more. This one is no exception! The work going into the Golden Nugget... all the "extra mile" stuff and attention to the littlest detail... super impressive! Then there's the love and kindness shown for the channel fans... you're good, salt of the earth, people. I love that! May Michael's family be blessed with peace as they work through their terrible loss. 🙏 Thank you for sharing that moment. Life is precious and fragile. Hug your family... 🥰❤️
Robbie, your family and the friends you hang with are special people.. Thank you for sharing your family and friends with us.. Bless you all
You guys do an amazing job. I love how careful and thoughtful you are. The color on the Nugget looks amazing! Thanks for making Mike Wolsey known to the world. Love your channel!
Just wanted to say I have been watching Matt's channel for some time now. Then the episodes for the nugget came on that's when I came across yours and Fab Rats, I just wanted to say I really enjoy watching you. You seem like a super nice family guy. And and you have a wonderful crew. Keep up the great entertaining videos you produce.
Can't wait until you get it done and the look on Ed when he gets to see it is going to be priceless, may the guy you met rest in pice
That Suzuki is 24k goodness! Hope Ed gets alot of use out of it and protects it like a member of the family! Keep up the good work. Nice job crew. Much love ❤️ from Central Cal.👍😎🙏❤️🇺🇸⚓
Sooooo Much work!!! To all those who have worked on the this project, my hat is off to all of you. Can't wait to see the finished products.
WOW! Does that paint job ever look AWESOME!!! Ed I'm sure is really going to have the biggest smile on His face EVER!
Awesome.
@@gregbrooks3577 did you assume he meant awesome? Lol

Thank you for taking us along on this project. You guys are fun to watch. I've watched different people do painting, but I think you have a real talent.
Amazing work! This channel always instantaneously receives the LIKE button waaay before the 5sec mark 🤙🏽
That is super sad about Mike and a nice tribute, my condolences to his friends and family.
Well done on the Golden Nugget, and well done on quitting the Monster's. I know you, Cody, Hillbilly and Dinner have been working around the clock, it is all worth it. What an amazing team! You need to do a Robbie Nation Golden Nugget shirt, we would all get that.
The shirt needs all the folks that recovered it and worked on it included, though maybe in caricature.
WOW the GOLDEN NUGGET is looking Amazing. Great job to everyone that helped. And we are all saying a prayer for that man that passed away and his wife and family.
It is great how the golden nugget is coming along. It is very impressive what the golden nugget team is doing for Ed. Can’t wait to see him get it back.
Your message about Michael is so true. Too many people do not realize how fragile life really is. Treat people as you want to be treated and enjoy every minute you have with them. You never know when they will leave us.
Awesome job, team. You all nailed it.. A big RIP to the jokester, Mike!
@@keithclark486 Watch the end of the video, its all explained there.
May want to add some gussets to the gooseneck portion of the trailer for additional strength. Otherwise I am loving this whole truck/trailer/bike build. Keep up the good work guys.
I was thinking the exact same thing, I think it would make it look a bit better too
usually you just get a slide in hitch you don't move the tongue up or down , Matt could have towed the trailer by just flipping one of those over
Definitely agree. Not enough rigidity and strength in the design. I really wish that had done a drop down trailer. Too late now.
@@sandkworkshop good point a drop down hitch would have at leas split the difference but heind sight is always 20 20 at this point just add some gussets
@@regularguy8592 have you ever seen a drop down trailer for motorcycles? They actually drop to the ground. No ramp and then raise back up so the hitch hight could have been whatever.
Robby, you just showed how great a dad you are. Sitting there, talking to the camera, holding your baby, he's reaching for your plate, you are not even looking and still spot on take a hold of his little hand just before he grabs the plate. Never skipping a beat, never pausing, just out of instinct, you get it all done. Kudo's to you sir!
Yea for Ryker! Lordy, Sooo much sanding... I'm tired just watching you guys sand. At last we,(and you), can see the end of this project coming closer. So much work from so many people for one special man. I so wish that I could be there for the reveal. God Bless you all for your efforts on this labor of love.
Your team is nuts! I am impressed with the amount of work and love for Ed. You are amazing!
My turn to be #1 on the 'Like' Meter.. been waiting and watching since 6:45 CDT, but at the 21:30 mark I now understand why it took a little longer this morning... such meticulous sanding... perfection...sure glad you and Hillbilly still have family time... good to see you Rudy & Janelle... 3months Robbie... but how many person hours/days/weeks does that add up to???? awesome dedication... Thanks for sharing the progress...
Woohoo…! Finally, we get to see the gold paint. Excellent workmanship to all of you. Keep up the good works.
I am so sorry for the loss of Michael . Your story with him telling a joke brought tears to my eyes . Even though I have never met him he seemed like a great guy . Condolences to his family and friends . I can't wait to see Ed's reaction when he gets the Golden Nugget back .
Robbie. I’ve watched a lot of your videos since you pulled me out of the snow and I have to say the golden nugget series is probably one of your best set of videos I’ve seen. Well done.
We have seen your Rat Rod in the Burnout challenge. Micheal looked like a very genuine fella. I dig all the sanding and attention to detail you guys provide. That color is insane, it’s definitely growing on me, I used to spray a lot of Sunfire and would complain about the price of that stuff. More princess wave HillBilly!!!!!
The Nugget rescue introduced me to your channel. Excellent videos. I've had a 71' GMC C3500 for over 20 years. I hope to get it repainted the original metallic olive green some day and have learned a lot watching your channel. Good labor is expensive!
Nugget is worth every penny!
I confess. Nugget took me here and I was sure that I’ll stick around this channel only as long as it does.
This is the episode that finally broke me. Robby, Your lighthearted humour and easy going attitude won me over. Now I’ll have to follow Your next spotlight project after this is done.
Blessings to You and your loved ones.
Honestly, I was soooo into the Golden Nugget, now, you've done a great job and so much sanding and sanding and sanding and... you get the point... I just wanna see it done... my respect to you and your crew....
So do we! :)
@@RobbyLayton No doubt!!!!!
Robbi I just have a suggestion for you, put some type of rubber seal on the edges of the access cover, it will keep the dust and wind out, plus keep it from squeaking when the golden nugget is cruising down the road, and awesome job guys, seriously awesome, cant wait to see the old ford recovery rig, and the jeep you are going to build, what is up with old red recovery jeep
Im super pleased that everyone on this, Pauls, and Matts channel, know how to say "Oregon" You guys rock! (And you do pretty great work to! ) Todd the retired trucker.
The paint job is absolutely gorgeous! You guys are doing an amazing job.
It is looking fantastic guys. I am sure Ed will be absolutely overwhelmed!
Robbie you are an artist! I could watch you spray all day, how you have the patience to do what you do I'll never know! Perfection!
Robby and his crew have gone way beyond perfection on this Golden Nugget and shows his respect and dedication for his business and work ethic ! Good for future business I presume !!!
Amazing to see the skill you guys bring to this job and the love and respect you have shown throughout for an oldster like me. Old folks the world over are often neglected and the love and care you dispense to Ed is truly remarkable and so in keeping with the original commandments in Scripture. You are all blessed and your lives will be charmed and fruitful. Such a pity that everyone in the World does not follow your example. So sorry to hear about the loss of Michael and my sincerest condolences to his Family.. May Father Yahweh the Elohim of all things bless you and keep you all.

Great video! The Nugget is looking great. I loved your tribute to Micheal. You're an amazing person! ❤
At 4:30 that just shows you how Robby and crew go far beyond what most would hv went on this... great job to everyone 👏
I have to say I am really impressed with your business and knowledge of Auto Body Repair. I have 24 years in the business, mostly on the paint end, so watching the whole process (including the hours and hours of prep work) has been a pleasure....
Robbie, while a little luck never hurts, you dont need much. You have some SKILLS my friend! Nice Work! Thanks for sharing the joke. Prayers for Mike's family.
Another amazing video! 😊 With all of the very detailed work you all have done on the Nugget, I can imagine that it will be a relief to have it done. 😊 The end result is going to be beyond fantastic! :)
Condolences to Michael's family on their loss. 😢
I’m honestly worried that Ed will get a heart attack when he sees that beautiful little Suzuki again. It looks amazing!
What do you get when you cross an elephant and a kangaroo?
Giant holes in Australia.
First off, RIP Mike, we truly never know how much time we have in this life. Live every day to the fullest!
You guys are doing some excellent work on that "Zuki"! Wow, looking super nice!! Ed will love it!! Gonna be epic to see his reaction.
Thank you for the series of awesome videos!!
You guys are all so warm hearted. Really love the effort you put into your work and into your friendships.
Rest In Peace Michael, one of my favorite “dad jokes” To Michael’s family we all say sorry for your loss knowing full well that the words will never fix the pain. Just know there are a lot of people sending you good vibes who care and wish you all well.
Robby, I washed my car this weekend with my grandson and he said the car looks really nice, but next time grandpa, can we use a sponge? love this channel and I can't wait to see the nugget all finish,
hey, you got a great crew there.
Love this series. Didn't realize how many steps there are to do a great job. Would like on one of your shows to explain what blow tack and static actually is please. Thanks again for the great content!
Robby, the work you have done on the Nugget is amazing and your determination showed no bounds. Hats off to you young man!
I’ve sanded a few 1000 hours and it stinks. I can only imagine your hatred for sanding. Awesome videos. The amount of love displayed is something the entire world could benefit from.
Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend Mike . My thoughts and prayers go out to you guys and his family, he really sounded like a cool person to be around. 🙏
The Nugget is looking 🔥 fantastic I hope Ed doesn't take it off road because it looks to good to be getting scratched up. Keep up the great work and God Bless all you guys and your families. 💪💯👍👍🙏🙏👌
This has been a wonderful journey! Thank you for all the real life content. We all need a raise haha!
wow.... You're really putting in the effort for your viewers ! Thank you so much for bringing us along !
I am pretty sure this is a top of the line job on a low budget car. The vehicles you see in car shows must be the best of everything bodywork wise.
This is more attention to detail than most paint jobs would be. OTOH top level show cars have even more time and effort into them than this does.
This is way above any standard car mass production paint job. 😵
He has said in past videos that they never really take on resto projects like this. More accident repair and what not which doesn’t seem to take nearly as much attention to detail.
Watch the video where they repair the 4runner for Tucker. That is a more typical example of the work they do.
I wanna know how many hours of sleep these guys average because when they're not working super hard, they're playing even harder. And how old is Robby cus his work ethic, he's a frickin animal.
I think I remember Robby saying he was 32. I know he mentioned he looks younger than he is.
I actually like the sanding stuff. There's a lot of tips and tricks that I might be able to use. Sanding seems easy until you're chasing a blemish free polished surface free from any visible scratches. I'm currently trying to teach myself.
Tip a body guy taught me. Use a rag on the surface. It will amplify the errors till you learn the "touch"
well I must say the attention to detail is so over the top well done gentlemen. 👏 and sorry to hear about Michael's and family's loss.
I have a a lot of respect for people that simply refuse to compromise on work quality, they are few and far between. Kudos to Robbie and his team!
Yeah, I’ve been thinking for a while that this has to be the nicest (most expensive) restoration ever done to a samurai. Just wondering if I had Robby work on my car would the work be anything close to this level?
Probably depends on how much you'll pay him
I've seen you do this a lot now, but what does the blowtac and static process actually do? How does it work? Looks like magic to me :)
Thanks for the respect for Michael, he looks like he was such a gentle soul.
Most important message was about your friends you meet along your journey. Well done!
