After her testimony they discussed a plea deal with her parents' present where she declined 8 years for manslaughter. During this she made a telling statement to her mom, saying "you think I'm guilty because I smoked pot and wouldn't date those eunuch preppies you kept bringing around". Showing that she was turned on by a violent bad boy and willingly participated. She was convicted on four counts of second-degree murder.
The moment she identified the bartender by his nickname, I think the defense attorney knew that the chances of getting a not guilty verdict from the jury just went out the window. Part of me still thinks that she initially joined the guy for kicks, but then things got too out of control for her. She may have wanted to get out, but it would be like trying to jump off a horse that was running full tilt and that she couldn't control any more. Then again, maybe she got more and more addicted to the thrill. I don't know which scenario is accurate. I do know two things are accurate. First, she made it very clear that the kind of life her parents had and lived, the kind of life they wanted for her, wasn't for her. Second, she wanted all the fun and none of the responsibility. Maybe it was because of her rebellious attitude. Maybe it was because some of the upper-class attitude did seep into her, thinking she could do whatever she wanted without consequence.
She could have run away when he left her alone, not trapped and tide. She is an adult not a child. We will not be asking this question if it was a man. They did offer her manslaughter and 8 years (the parole board could intervine eventually) and she refused telling her mother that she (the mother) "you think I'm guilty because I smoked pot and wouldn't date those eunuch preppies you kept bringing around" that nailed to the jail. Women are adults even when some of them pretend to be adults when talking bout rights and children when talking about legal and contractual responsibility.
@@jaimeduncan6167 Exactly and if she was too shell shocked, she wouldn´t participated in that way. Defence should have made a cause of stockholm syndrome.
The wiki notes that it's called "The Velvet Room" in one of the title cards. My guess is that it was inconsistent in the script, they went back and dubbed over where it was called "Velvet" and then forgot to change the title card.
"William is also short for bill or billy", flimsy as hell attempt at a contradiction. Any time the accused gets on the stand to testify, they always end up folding on the dumbest things. Its the part that always breaks my suspension of disbelief.
Her attorney should've interjected over the Willy name. Someone easily could've yelled out his name while she was there, or she overheard a conversation.
@@catherinep2034 It is not something worth objecting to. McCoy's question was how did she know the bartender's nickname. Had it been the case that someone else had said, she could have just said so herself. The second she slipped up, she was not clever enough to improvise.
Yeah a similar thing happened in a later series where a witness says "You're sitting on the nuts" and Detective Bernard is shocked like it's a extremely unique phrase that leads to them discovering the culprit.
The fact that she called the bartender Willie instead of William suggested that she had known him before. Also, William in Westworld was nicknamed "Billy" by his brother-in-law (although he always hated the nickname)
Too bad she aided a terrorist in committing murders in a later season. Good old Law and Order hidden message about defense attorneys not being trustworthy--while Mccoy himself was an unethical sleaze bag who would have seemlessly fit in as a drug kingpin's lawyer
I looked it up apparently the original name was “the velvet room” which appears to be a real clubs name. Near as I can gather the real club didn’t appreciate this association with their brand so they changed it for the dvd release. Pretty sure I noticed something similar in another episode as well but blanking on the specifics.
It’s revealed later that she willingly participated. That she got her rocks off to being with a bad boy and even encouraged the rampage he caused. She instigated those peoples deaths all so she could play out a fantasy.
When Jack goes full McCoy, that makes the episode.
McCoy Jacked her up
@@merlinpendragon1272 McCoy doesn't like getting jacked around the truth.

Cool, thanks for filling in the details. Often wondered how some of these snippets played out.
Thank you, thank you! I needed to know how it ended lol
Thanks!!
Great call on Jack's part to say, "So you are acting now if your acting was so good then!"
I still think she was innocent.

Bias in favor of a defendant who is cute and cuddly.

Man, Amanda was so excellent in this episode!
Saying I am not a criminal is like saying I only had two beers.
Now criminals can say “I only shot him dead!”.
Yeah, like in the Kavanaugh hearing.
really wish these older episodes were move available online
I know. These were some of the best
@@hydrangeas_lover they really were
Wow the audio sure goes funny whenever the VIVANT room is mentioned. I wonder if they originally used the name of a real place

YouLenz, what was that supposed to be?

The worst of all was the violence that the couple have

I saw this episode. Makes you not want to have kids. I felt sorry for her parents.
Me too. I was sympathetic towards her parents. I liked her mother and I don't see anything they did wrong. The girl was just a bad seed.
So glad that I don't!🙄
I love when this defense attorney is on.

When he asked her why Leon didn’t leave her alone, wouldn’t you object there given she had no business testifying to his mental state?

There was an episode where they dubbed over a doctor suspects name because it was too similar to an actual doctor
She's lying that's why she's crying she's playing the symphony card
What was the original name of "The Vivant Room"? It's badly dubbed throughout this episode.
He's mouthing "The Velvet Room", no idea what caused the awful dub though.
What's with the weird reverb on the vivant room?

Yeah, it's a bit disrespectful of people that have died violent deaths, honestly.
A good episode, though.
McCoy later snags the defense attorney.
When she called the bartender by his nick name with out knowing it she hung herself.
he helped gangsters steal what they are robbing me of....
Another girl innocent sin in Law & Order × Persona !
🙄
To act the part of someone who is bad actor on the stand is next level
Why did they dub it over every time he mentioned the name of the club? Obvious over-dub.
I hate McCoy pushed for bigger sentence for her. You can see she can't handle gun like the other did but don't know what McCoy thought about it
4 people were killed in a shootout. 4 families lost a loved one. It was McCoy's job to seek justice and the offender is held accountable.

@detmstr341 The real offender died, though. He was killed by the store owner.
She did what she did to survive.
Don’t go on any jury
Aye she’s pretty fine tbh
